Further clarification:

Icy Blast cannot harm players, since you cannot attack each other. What it is referring to are friendly monsters or creatures that may be in battle with you.

Ah!

Potion of Remedy for the win.

I am no longer blind.

It would have been pretty tough to level up without being able to see.

Finally someone's ID'd me. You can't believe the decades I've been cooped up in that crazy box waiting for someone to spring me. I have a huge thirst for blood, and ...

wait...

You can't even wield me.

Now I have to try to find a new master. Idiot. Trade me away to a real warrior. Someone will will allow me to WASH THE STONES IN OUR ENEMY"S BLOOD!

So I am sending this missive out to all of you out there in the dungeon. Someone take me.

Allow me to satisfy your curiosity. I am Xeenthrax, not that this name should mean anything to any of you. I was once a free war demon but I was bound in sword form by battle-mage who wanted a unique weapon.

I am a fully capable weapon, and unlike some other weapons which will will go nameless, I will tell you everything about me that you may wish to know.

First of all, I am a +3 longsword, so I deal aa strong amount of damage in combat, plus I am deadly accurate.

Oh, but that's not all. My wielder will always Go Berserk in combat, and cannot pull himself out of it. I REALLY want to KILL things and it's hard for my wielder (NOT MY MASTER, mind you, just my wielder) to stop.

Oh, and I admit up front, I am cursed. Once you start wielding me, that's it.

Since I am an intelligent sword, I am completely immune to being destroyed by things like Atrophy, effects, acid and the like.

I am deadly powerful. Between the bonuses you get for going berzerk and my already powerful blade, you can dole out a SERIOUS AMOUNT OF HURT.

Oh, and I am worth absolutely nothing in terms of gold. So many powerless babies are scared of me and the power I offer, so they have dropped my value to nothing.

Surely, one of you sheep has the desire to rise above the flock and put terror in the hearts of ALL YOU FIND!

Just ask this guy to trade me to you, and we will begin a CARNAGE THAT WILL NOT BE ENDED!

So going off the assumption that the sword above is indeed the sword I found, does Thomkal still have it or did I get it back since we were in the same room?

So, PackerFanatic. Needless to say, I am interested in your new friend.

I don't care if it's cursed or not. I need it.

(And it needs me).

So, blood-colored posts from here on out for KWhit. Seriously, that is an insane sword. I wouldn't care that it was cursed either. Why oh why did I forsake pointy weapons?

Well... I got some gold, a potion of nocturne (allows for night actions) a book of weapon expertise (allows exotic weapons - but I dunno if a scout can use it), a couple of prestige items. Any number of things to make a deal.

I'm not sure just how much it means in this game, but a sword with a demon trapped in it will likely a) turn you evil, b) lie about its powers, c) try to break out of the sword somehow, d) near impossible to remove any curses on it. Or none of the above since this isn't Dungeons and Dragons. So I would think twice before taking ownership of it.

We had such fun with His Regal Pinkness that, although I advise caution, I agree with the birthday boy. It is more fun to see someone wield it.

Now about that efreeti bottle...
