As a lifelong die hard Cowboys fan, I believe that Dez did catch the ball. But I also knew as soon as I seen it hit the ground and Dez rolled into the endzone the pass would be ruled incomplete. Too damn bad GB didn't waste all of their timeouts.
Biggest plays were the Dallas mistakes and poor tackling. The Murray fumble was a huge game changer, and Bailey missing the FG at the half was huge. Especially with Rodgers being able to convert it into 3 points. GB made the plays when needed and that is the difference. I don't understand why Dallas didn't try to blitz up the middle, Rodgers was a sitting duck. I don't see Seattle sitting back and letting Rodgers pick 'em apart, especially if Rodgers isn't healthy. They have the Dbs to cover and the DL to pressure. If the Seattle offense can click it may be a blow out. |

That Dez play wasn't a catch, but it could have been if he just tucked it and held on. All they needed there was the conversion. It has been called pretty consistently since the implementation of the rule, and Bryant was going down when he caught it, hit the ground and the ball came out. No controversy at all, just a failure to consider the rules when coming down with that. There was no reason for Bryant to reach it out, they would have had it on the 1 yard line and a score there was essentially a foregone conclusion. Hell of a play by the Packers defender to get a hand in there and cause the ball to be bobbled a bit on the way down, which is what I think made the call correct almost as much as the ball coming out.
It has hurt many a team, but since the implementation of the rule, it is on the receivers to erase any doubts when coming down with a ball. Fair enough in my book, given all the other rules that favor the offense these days.

Again I ask, how is reaching out not a football move or an act common to the game? Either Dez lost control of it while trying to control the catch or he lost control because "he's dumb" and reached out. If it's the latter, then that is an act common to the game. If it's not considered that, then what the fuck does that rule even mean?

That's what killed them in the Cowboy game. First Cowboys drive the Colts got a dumb penalty that gave Dallas a 1st instead of being forced to punt. |

On that 3rd down play, you can see on the replay none of the Colts receivers ran a route that would have gotten a first down.

I know that some folks thought the Large Hadron Collider might create a black hole and cause the end of the world. I think a much likelier event would be a broadcast booth of Joe Buck and Phil Simms. I don't think the Earth could survive such an event.

Watching this too many times,if it's not a catch, it never touchesthe ground.when he rolls over it pops up and he again catches it. Tough tough call.
Probably right by the letter of the rule ,if not the spirit of the rule, but wrong at heart. |

The NFL now. Brady/Flacco have a passing fest and now the Colts a 2:1 Pass/Run.
Luck is looking sharp. Still not forcing it. |

Let's decide the games by both teams bringing a ref to the field and whoever can yell HOLDING the loudest wins the game. So much fun!

Agreed...emotionally, it's tough to see it overturned, but I don't know a better way to word the rule. Another example similar to this is a runner that is contacted and loses the ability to stay on his feet...even if he takes 7 steps on the way down, he's still down. If Bryant had shown the ability to stay on his feet and then fell down, it would be a different story. Sucks, but I agree with the rule, the ruling, and I just hope the rule is the way it is so it can be called the same way everytime. |

Broncos must see something I don't with this endless passing deep to Sanders.
Surprisingly, Manning looks to be forcing it while Luck is looking calm. |

Yeah here we are all trying to figure what the hell he is trying to prove geez 0-5 on 3rd conversions is a sure way to lose a game......... Interesting discussion in the local media is coach Fox is coaching for his job almost for certain today. If they were to in the AFCCG to the Pats or in the SB that will keep him employed but if they are one and done again then him Del Rio are almost certainly out . They have had some wacky personnel depth chart stuff Nd shuffling of the online that still baffle many here for e ample among many shitty in game coChing strategy. Whoever wins this one it probably is getting just getting the invitation to a blowout in NE. For the record regRdless of that I think Seattle gNgrapes the Pats in the SB too so it is all for nought I ink in the AFC. The NFC looks like the Al baseball the last few years just a lot more dominat than the other conference.

A runner isn't down when they start stumbling, they are down when a knee, leg, or forearm hits the ground. If that doesn't happen until after the 7 steps, he gets those 7 steps.

Yeah he got booed by the home fans for not running for the 4 yards to get that first down with 25 yards open in front of him. Shit he is 37 not 67. Though I am a BRoncos fan good reason why I like Brady over Manning after seeing the latter for three years no balls.

And who cares if Hilary Swank and Cris Carter have a hard time talking about domestic abuse, what about the women who live through it? They're the victims, not celebrities who get paid millions. Those commercials are ridiculous.

Well there comes a time for all us athletic guys to be passed by some 20 year old when we are in our 40s and think that time is happening right now for Manning. He should have the good sense to hang them up while we all remember how special he was and let the Brock Osweller era (all 11 games of it likely) begin.

They looked about like this when they played Miami. Trailed by 12 heading to the fourth and would've won by 11 if not for a garbage time TD by the Dolphins. Though Manning's arm strength does seem more suspect in this game.
