If Nelson had fallen to me, I was going to take him. I need to mull this over for a bit.

Pick is in.

If I were a man of feelings, I would be feeling for JAG this morning.

Not terribly excited about Jackson, but hoping he can be a bright spot in STL again this year.

why?

I like the Charles pick, I was giving him serious consideration. Kind of glad he went ahead of me so I didn't have to decide.

I'm leaving for work but can pick when I get there if NTN has gone.

Did someone PM him that he is up?

Because he drafted a broken Richardson and Mathews broke his collar bone last night.

Typically, it takes a year or more for RB to recover from ACLs., but Charles has been out pretty much a year, so we will see. I'm hoping to see the old Jamal Charles.

I can't really feel bad for JAG, he knew the risk in taking Richardson when there were other backs that had proven track records. It could still work out great for him next season when he gets to keep them both.

He didn't tear an ACL or anything. They project him to be back by week 1, so I didn't feel like it was a huge risk he wouldn't play this year. Might not work out, sure, maybe he'll be the second coming of Blair Thomas.

Mathews is another story though. I might stick SI's quote about the move not being risky in my signature. . At least he's likely to be back at some point unlike an ACL tear.

Sproles is a great player. I wish the Colts had grabbed him when he was a FA. I think he is over valued fantasy wise, though. There's too many RBs in NO for him to be of high value for me.

That plus no points per reception, though obviously neither of those things hurt him much last year.

That is the big reason I passed too. He has crazy good value in PPR for sure.

Good news: just got back from lunch so I'm here
Bad news: I haven't looked at word one about fantasy football this year so it's going to take me a while to make 2 picks

I can't help that you picked the wrong one- I just said Rice vs Matthews seemed like a good problem to have

As a feature back Sproles isn't great, unless it is a ppr league, but as a RB2 I'll take him anyday. Plus he has another year in that system under his belt to work with Brees.

If Bryant plays to potential and can stay out of trouble he could be a monster.

I was hoping Wallace would fall to me since he has better value at keeper than Smith, but I am really happy with Smith for this year. I think with another year for him and Cam to develope chemistry he could be a monster.

Charles and Jackson both great picks. They were in my top four heading into the draft with Fitz and Richardson.

Fantasy football is a funny thing.

I'm not high on any of these guys. Fitz has no one throwing him the ball and no running game to keep defenses honest, Richardson is already having injury issues, Charles is coming off major surgery, and Jackso seems like a back close to hitting the wall.

I was much higher on Nelson who has Rodgers throwing him the ball, Turner,, who while older didn't get a lot of carries early in his career, Wallace who is money as long as he plays and Lynch who looks to get a ton of carries including at the goalline.

My problem with Turner is that he doesn't catch very many balls. He has the running part down right, but he doesn't catch shit out of the backfield.

Wallace is holding out like an idiot.

I already said I liked Nelson. I was sorry I had to drop him choosing keepers.

Lynch is solid.

Thrilled to get Antonio Brown. He's due for a breakout season and has more potential than Wallace, I feel

I know we expanded out to 6 teams a couple of seasons ago, but that's an awfully bold statement before the season even starts. Particularly in a league prone to crazy small sample size variances and high injury risk

Mollys team is looking really solid if Peterson, Johnson, and Schaub come back healthy. Turner could be productive and no reason to think Julio Jones wont continue to get better with Colston as her WR3.

Should be fun to lose to my wife.

That's pretty hilarious, right? I pick up Dez and a day later he gets a bum hamstring. This year is off to an incredible start. I'm hoping there's a key player for the Giants I can take with my next pick.

My 2nd pick there was down to Austin, Bryant, Thomas, and Smith. Smith scares me because of (age and) what defenses did to him in the 2nd half last season. Thomas has a bit of a fluid situation in Denver: a new QB always disrupts the current order of things. I could see him being awesome or he could get pushed behind Decker. That leaves Austin or Bryant: oft-injured or never-quite-put-it-together. So I went with oft-injured because that's just how I roll.

Interesting call. I wouldn't have gone with Austin myself though I can understand the appeal having a decent QB throwing to him and such. I was planning on taking either Bryant, Wallace, or Harvin in the 2nd and would've been happy with any of them as a 3rd (or 2nd, wherever AJ Green ranks) WR.

Harvin was another I considered as he seems like lower variance but also lower potential. Wallace was the "no brainer" to me. He could completely hold out and screw me but that seems unlikely. He could be traded but his talent plays fine anywhere. He could hold out a little and be inconsistent, which is annoying. But he has the highest talent potential and to get him at the end of the 1st round was totally worth the risk.
