These injury issues are going to make it tough on Baltimore if guys keep getting banged up.

Exactly. Therefore, IMO, St. Louis loses the right to still be pissed at Bidwell... just like Baltimore loses the right to still be pissed at Irsay.

Congratulations to the Cards. To be honest, I didn't think that last play was pass interference. I also thought that the Cards should have had the ball on the kick play near the sideline. So they sort of evened out in my mind.

Really nice to see someone new in the Super Bowl. I hope the Cards win it.

Congrats Cardinals fans. Arizona was simply the better team today. Whisenhunt/Grimm were one step ahead of Jim Johnson for pretty much the entire game and the final score was not indicative of the playcalling/execution of both teams. Well played.

I will be rooting for the Cards in the Super Bowl, no doubt about it.

Dola, Fitzgerald is an absolute beast. Good luck to the Steelers/Ravens trying to cover him in two weeks.

Great game, though any Eagles fan who insists on bitching about McNabb ought to have to spend a season as a Chicago/San Francisco / Minnesota etc etc fan. He's a damn good QB, if not a great one,.

This could be reversed, which I did not see happening initially....but I could probably keep as is because its a inconclusive... or something like that.

wth was that 'replay' they showed. It was the blurriest view of a replay I ever saw. What a great replay to use as an example....... not.

Jim Leonhard was the one who started calling it incomplete while the play was finishing up... I wonder if my old high school nemesis told the coach to throw the flag.

And Holmes... EACH of you had your hands on each other, so no PI... Sorry.

I'm rooting for the Ravens only because Jim Leonhard is an old friend of mine and it would be cool to see him in the Supoer Bowl, returning punts(despite him already muffing one today.. lol)

I'm not sure I like the rule that makes that an incomplete pass.

Fitzgerald v. Reed would be a fun undercard.

Agreed. It really seemed to be an attempt at a football move when he tried pushing himself into the endzone with his other arm. Hopefully that won't decide the game, which I highly doubt will as I think the Steelers will win by a few touchdowns.

Yeah, I'm curious too. Phil Simms clearly wasn't going to tell us. It looked to me like Holmes took 3 steps and had a hand on the ground. How is that not a catch? The ball clearly came loose, but possession seemed established.

Where's the replay police for that Santonio Holmes non-catch? A catch coming short for the TD made the least sense of all, but I'd need people who know the rules to explain the difference between an incomplete pass and plugging it into the end zone there.

Nice tackle by Leonhard there, but then the Steelers get the first down on 3rd and Long.

The rule states that as you are coming down with a catch you must control the ball all the way to the ground. The ground 'can' cause an incompletion in this way by bouncing he ball out of the receiver's hand. This case is rather odd as he did seem to take a couple steps, I'm guessing the ref's felt he was in the process of being brought to the ground and carried the play forward until he landed, at which time he lost control? Not sure how I feel about the specific situation but I like the rule.

I don't really have a problem with that Holmes incomplete call. I could see it either way, but if he has a problem then next time he needs to hold onto the football.

That was too long of a 4th down to go with the QB sneak.

I like that rule for diving catches, but I really don't think that rule should apply here. To me, he caught the ball while standing up and lost the ball in the process of diving for the endzone. IMO, the only acceptable calls for the ref were: ball marked inside the 1, touchdown, or fumble.

Yeah, if it's a matter of an inch or two, the QB sneak almost always works, but that was almost a yard.

That was a great escape from Big Ben. I know he gets some hate on this board, but he has made some big plays in the playoffs.

And that #31 for Baltimore...karma's funny. I was about to make a comment about how unbelievably stupid it is for a defender to make a gesture after a normal play (which is nothing new, as we all know). He was doing the John Cena, "You can't see me!" hand in front of the face gesture after Hines Ward was stopped by four Ravens on first down.

He was the one who fell down trying to defend the Santonio Holmes TD pass. So, while I hate Pittsburgh, I also hate Baltimore. And karma's a bitch, son. Where's that hand gesture now?

Late to the party but woohoo! I had to miss the 2nd half because I got sick and had to sleep. I came downstairs and saw my wife crying...but it was tears of joy. They told me what happened and I couldn't believe it. Great comeback by the Eagles and an amazing game-winning drive by the Cards.

I don't know if we're considered bandwagon Cards fans but as FOFC can attest, we have been huge Kurt Warner fans since 1999 - even during his wilderness years. We are so happy for him.

Also, I am officially adding Larry Fitzgerald as one of my top 3 favorite players - after listening to his post-game interview on NFL Network. Now go beat the AFC, esp. if it's the f'n Steelers.

By the way, I've seen a couple of sportscaster say that this cements Warner's HOF chances. I recall a thread we had 7 years ago asking whether Kurt was a HOF QB and I think a majority said yes, even back then.

Mmm, I must be blind, I could have sworn Santonio Holmes took score a bit too light hearted and jumped wide left of the endzone.

I had no idea about Wanrer per se, but knowing your desired type of QB, Warner sounds like about the only QB in the league fitting that label.

And I'll be rooting for the Cardinals too. Kurt Warner is about the only rotting interest I have in the NFL. Although, Shaun Hill is moving up fast.

You have no idea as to my "desired type of QB" (it's not Warner) and just rehashing something from years ago. Shame on you.

Warner's rise in 1999 was one for the ages and that has stuck with us after all of these years.

I have this feeling on most games with Phil Simms but never more so than today. I get the feeling he and I are not watching the same game and he just learned the rules of football about half an hour before game time.

Jim Nantz is decent but CBS needs to man up and make Kevin Harlan and Rich Gannon their No. 1 team.
