Bowls:
Rankings: Cal: 101 Georgia: 6/6-7 Minnesota: 20/18 Notre Dame: 16/16 Ohio State: 2/2-2 Oklahoma: 8/8-9 Purdue: 22/21 TCU: 28 Tennessee: 5/5-5 Texas: 1/1-1 Virginia: 13/12-13 Washington: 69 Heisman Winner: Award Winners: Kevin Gunn pictured All-American: PotW: Final Standings: Cal: #9 PAC 10 Georgia: #4 SEC Minnesota: #4 Big 10 Notre Dame: #1 1A Independents Ohio State: #1 Big 10 Oklahoma: #3 Big 12 Purdue: #5 Big 10 TCU: #3 C-USA Tennessee: #1 SEC Texas: #1 Big 12 Virginia: #1 ACC Washington: #10 PAC 10 Washington is the biggest surprise, but can be explained in big part by a lengthy injury to their starting QB (who wasn't that great in the first place). The other teams finished fairly close to their projected result. I will list the bowls and their results tomorrow (today) along with everyone's season stats before sending the last few recruits through the shredder that the AI is. I very much expect to see a few of our players enter the draft this year, so we will probably be starting the Madden part of this dynasty tomorrow as well. |

Ok, how do you go from #1 LB and 1st team AA to no mention at all? Did they run away from me? Or did one of the team send a hitman out for me and chop block me on the IR?

I feel more sorry for Cincinnati, they went 11-2 and finished 2nd. I think your team struggled for a while when your star HB got injured. You also met with the tradition of losing games that looked like easy wins (my poor ND fell victim as well). In fact there were three or four (at least) surprise teams in the top 25 for a while just based off of their upsets over our and some of the other recruit's teams. Oklahoma had it worse than either of us did with that though. |

Maybe they switched to a defense scheme that put you in coverage more often? Or maybe Purdue got some talent on defense and other players were able to make the plays they were supposed to? I do know you led the team in tackles, but were no where near last years numbers. Either way, your team did better this year. In fact Purdue, Georgia , and Ohio State were the only teams that did finish ranked higher than last year. |

dola-
As much as I hate to admit it, The Afoci was on the verge of Super Studdom this season. If his pesky Heisman hopeful HB didn't keep getting healthy, he may have passed and run for over 2000 yards. |

First time through and only one of our players got cut, so I'm going to keep it and just add that person as a free agent in Madden.

Well, I won a national championship, it looks like, with Texas in my first season, and had decent stats for a #3 WR. Maybe I have some promise at WR.

I finished up the draft and free agent periods in Madden. I had heard that imported drafts don't work out so great, and I think that may be true. Teams were still picking plays that were 70 OA midway through the 7th round. There were over 40 players pegged as 1st round picks and more than that slotted to go 1st or 2nd. Looks like the NFL will have a pretty amazing talent pool for a few years.

Nyar, how did I need get any mention at All American WR yet I managed to finish 3rd in the Heisman vote? It's not like I was unknown as a was a first and apparently second team AA (how did that work?).
Does UW's QB sucks? |

I'm guessing it was that the 1700+ yards and 4 TD's you got on special teams don't count for top WR placement. As I kind of explained in the conference finish section, your QB was decent (barely), but missed much of the season. His backup was fairly bad. You won't have to worry about UW anymore at least. *As for getting 1st and 2nd team All-American, one would have been for your position and the other would be for returns.* Last edited by Nyarlahotep : 11-12-2003 at 01:11 AM. |

Sounds good. Am I looking at a nice NFL payday? First day draft probably? And the most dangerous return man? A blend of Dante Hall and Antonio Perkins
Inquiring minds want to know And Thanks again, evem if I did notice this started up again as Kodos announced the Golden Scribe awards............ |

I'll post the info for the NFL guys tomorrow (today). For now, let's just say you make enough to live comfortably. You did get hurt by how deep this draft was at WR (but not as much as another player got hurt by a bug in the way the CPU teams value a certain position), but the cpu teams do love the WR position and that didn't hurt. As far as returns go, I don't expect to be tracking that stat for you anytime soon. *was that last bit an implication that you think I am doing this in an attempt to get an award?* Last edited by Nyarlahotep : 11-12-2003 at 02:32 AM. |
