Interesting, the original "leaks" didn't have these coming out until mid-March. Not a huge NIN fan but these might be fun to simply play. |

Great news for me. They announced that the song "Still Alive", from the end credits of the popular game "Portal" (The Orange Box) will be available for download in the future on Rock Band. That song was hilarious and ended a truly unique game. The song is hilarious and I look forward to playing it on Rock Band. No release date was given.

Only picked up March of the Pigs from this week's pack. Won't be buying anything next week if it is the rumored "Thrash" pack.
After about 3 or 4 weeks I finally passed Don't Fear the Reaper tonight by the skin of my teeth. Literally one more missed note at the end and I would have failed. I then took care of Next to You, Flirtin' With Disaster and Tom Sawyer. Only Won't Get Fooled Again and Run to the Hills stand in my way of achieving AN-I-MAL!!! |

I thought Perfect Drug was a great guitar song, but the other 2 are very weak. I betcha that they are far more fun to play on the drums or bass though. There's barely any guitar parts at all in large chunks of the Collector and March of the Pigs.

So does anyone know if these come out on the PS3 or in Canada later? My friend said he couldn't find the NiN songs.

There are like 3 people who own PS3's and they are all currently in a conference call with MBBF getting info on the latest talking points.

Yep, for the low-low price of $400 you too can learn why the Japanese market is more important to you than your local one.

For those of you who have had hardware issues, what was the exact problem? I'm not sure if it's a hardware problem or whether I just suck, but I'm suspicious about the yellow pad on the drums and fast downstrums on the guitar. Neither seem to be working quite right, but it could be user error.

I splurged and bought Rock Band (360) today.
Initial impressions A. I'll never sing.. ever so, I won't have any impressions on that piece. B. Guitar difficulty seems 1 step below guitar hero. Maybe I'm just getting better at Guitar Hero so it seems easier. C. I suck at the drums right now. If anyone wants to add me, my userid is - Kerg01

When my drums went bad, they were registering two hits when it was really just one. Test it out in the menu and see if it skips up a couple when you just hit it once. The same thing happened with the first guitar I had, multiple strums on just a singular strum. The second guitar had a "limp" whammy bar that I had to rubber band to get it to work. Turns out the rubber band pressure felt much better than the normal, so Im still doing it on my working guitar. |

I thought I was going to be able to avoid it but my bass pedal finally snapped in half on Friday. All in all not too bad given the number of hours and stress that it went through.
The great thing about Rock Band though is that I can just go back and play guitar while I wait for a replacement. Last edited by Ironhead : 03-16-2008 at 10:46 AM. |

we'll be renting a PS2 and rock band for our son's 11yo birthday party.
Say, PS2 is good enough for that game, right? Is there really a need to rent a 360 when the the PS2 is $10 less per 3 day rental, is it? I'm thinking the appeal of the game is more in the gameplay than the awesomeness of graphics, but I might be wrong, is why I'm turning to my good friends of FOFC. We only have a gamecube in the house as far as gaming systems go right now. A Wii might be added at some point in the future, but for now the kid's getting on with a mixture of computer and cube play... FM

Sure, the PS2 should be plenty good enough. The advantages of the other systems such as the ability to download new songs don't matter in a 1 day rental situation. Last edited by Ironhead : 03-16-2008 at 12:49 PM. |

Question for ya'll.
Have had Rockband for a while, but just today ventured into the online competitive multiplayer. Now I'm getting "True Skill" rating. What is that? Cheers! |

I was'nt trying to sound so rudish with my post so sorry if you took it that way, its seems a little snottish to me on a second read through. But that's why the song title is probaly my favorite ever now, it makes no damn sense.

It just takes the place of a normal "wins and losses" record. The higher the number the better. A number of factors influence how much True Skill you gain or lose on a particular match. |

Yup snapped the foot pedal in half. so this is gona be drumset #3 comming up. Looks like I get about 2 months out of them, I hope they start making these a bit more rugged in the future. Also having issues with the red pad...have to hit it light to regester, if I go pounding on it it only will give me every third note. I also noticed yesterday their is a new add on for rockband, its a light and fog machince. I wonder how pissed my wife gona get when I start blowing off flash pods in the house....LOL |

That sucks about the pedal. My pads are still holding up though - I have had some gum rubber on them from right around day 1. As unfortunate as it is that two things have broken for me (guitar & pedal) I don't have any issue with it. I mean, I placed an order for the replacement pedal on Saturday and it shipped this morning. It is already sitting about 1 hour away and should be delivered tomorrow. And I am technically out of warranty but the company still replaces it anyway. Without a dime charged to me. |

Defo going to pick up all 6. I really like what I am seeing with Harmonix releasing these 6 packs of the bigger bands. What is even better is that I never saw any rumors or hints that the Boston pack was coming. That gives further hope that maybe one day we will get some surprise bands in the game.

Question for the experts:
A good friend of mine in Oregon (I'm in California) just bought the game. My wife and I play on one machine and would like to hook up with him to play. Question is, can she and I play on one machine and hook up with him on another. Reason I ask I that we've been trying over and over again, but we can only connect on band quickplay. And when we DO connect on quickplay, we get generic characters. If we go to "Band World Tour", we can't invite. I know this is a very rudamentary question for a lot of you, but how the heck do we do this? Thanks a million in advance.... |

Yes, you and your wife can both play at the same time while connecting to someone else online. Unfortunately an online Band World Tour did not make it into the final version of the game. It is a no brainer to be added to the game at some point through a patch or another version of the game. To date Harmonix has been silent as the grave regarding when and if it would be available. So the only way to play with your friend (short of a long road trip) would be to go to multiplayer and then band quickplay. You do not have to use generic characters when connecting through multiplayer. You do have to have the character you want to use created in the solo tour mode though. And another important thing. If you are on Xbox Live make sure you and your wife each have a distinct gamertag. If either one of you sign in as a guest it will kill all voice communication between you and your friend. |
