Some people will think this is crazy.

I have been having a debate with a friend about wanting the Vikings to sit AP for the rest of the year. These great backs have such a short career span where they are really great it doesnt make sense to me to use them games up in a meaningless season.

I compare it to LT 3-4 years ago when he was setting NFL records(same age as AP is now I believe) and 2 years later he was considered a backup at best.

I know the Vikings wont do it, the NFL wouldnt allow it, and a lot of fans wouldnt like it. But I think teams should consider saving their assets for when they can properly use them.

obviously Palmer is not the future, but nobody is on that roster. If Robert Griffin III comes out, Raiders should snag him.

At last check Luck and Barkley were considered top 5 picks, RG3 was considered mid 1st(i think he doesnt have ideal height) and Landry Jones was considered late first. This will of course change a lot but it does seem early projections have RG3 ranked low.

I think Palmer is the qb for the next few years, and they have prior who is an unknown. Still I wouldn't be opposed to griffin if he falls to the raiders first pick in the 3rd round

yea I was seeing 15-20, but thats if he comes out. If he comes back for his senior year hes probably a top 5 pick in 2013

Interesting short yardage play from the Eagles there. With a big athletic QB like Vince Young and not having a true power back it seems they should think about using the QB sneak a bit.

Never use common sense when trying to figure out what Andy Reid does.

So Hall is back returning two punts and they kick it out of bounds. Then Jackson comes in and they kick it to him.

You would think they would have learned at some point not to kick to him

I submit Jacksonville-Baltimore.

Hey the good news for the Eagles is it seems Vince Young has turned into michael...no that can't be right. Oh yea he's still Vince Young! Statistically awful, yet still winning. Something like 30-17 as a starter. It's crazy. They need to let this guy mentor Tim Tebow.

Pretty brutal, would assume he is out for awhile with that injury. The Bears have been playing about as well as I can recall them playing - in terms of a real balance between offense, defense, and special teams - in a long time. Probably since Rex looked like a Pro Bowler back when they started 7-0 in the Super Bowl year (2006?), although I see to recall the bloom being off their QB by about the 4th or 5th game.

Desean Jackson is an idiot but shouldn't the catch have stood and the taunting penalty been enforced from where he went OOB? It didn't make sense for it to offset with the hands to the face penalty. One occurred during the play, the other after the play. If there's taunting or a personal foul after a TD it doesn't nullify the TD.

Aaron Rodgers says he had a frustrating day, 23-34, 299, 3tds, 1 int.,
looks like a good day to me.
I'd be frustrated at the GB defense for keeping TB in the game.

Oh dear lord. I didn't think it was possible for the Bears to lean even more on Forte. He already accounts for like 55% of there offensive production. Poor guy he might die before he gets a new contract.

It should have been a dead ball foul because it clearly occurred after the play was over. The Eagles should have been able to decline the hands to the face penalty and the taunting penalty enforced from where Jackson was down. Instead it was called offsetting penalties. If the Giants hadn't had the hands to the face penalty they would have enforced the taunting from the end of Jackson's catch so the Giants were rewarded for committing a penalty.

Mike Pereira
Didn't see fouls but in NFL, live ball fouls combine with dead ball fouls and offset. In NCAA, both would be enforced but not in NFL.

Pereira is a former VP of NFL officiating.
