I had the game in my hands today. It was IN MY HANDS. We were at Sam's Club doing some regular shopping, and the game was sitting on the shelf. I couldn't believe it. When it was time to check out, they scanned the game, and the register said "SALE NOT ALLOWED". The girl had no idea why it would say that, but when she asked the manager, the manager said that they can't sell it until Tuesday. So I'd have the game right now if the computers weren't smarter than their employees.
I guess I'm waiting until Tuesday like most of you!

See, I guess that's one thing I won't due. I'll preorder the game, and wait for the official day, but I won't actively look for the game or anyting like that before it gets released.

Probably a lot of you know this already, but I just noticed an email from FK's site and he has the game already and plans to have 360 rosters done by Tuesday. Very cool as I'm going to wait until they are out to start my dynasty mode.

I've been reading impressions on OS for a while tonight, and it's torture. Quite a few people who aren't usually that suspectible to hyperbole on there are saying it (the 360 version) is the best console football gameplay they have ever experienced. The main complaints seemed to be focused on the lack of atmosphere, the missing features (such as discipline and sports covers, and spring game) from the dynasty mode. However, very few complaints about the gameplay. I'm enjoying my weekend being off work and all, but I can't wait for Tuesday.

I enjoyed the demo. I really hope the game is much better looking than the demo though. It looked pretty jagged and not really HD. Anyhow, I'm running to Circuit City this morning to see if I can get it there. In the Sunday paper their flyer doesn't say "Available Tuesday" like Best Buy's.

Yep, at least for my first one. However, I'm probably not going to write it up. Just too much work copying stats from the TV to a computer. |

Does anyone have any links to some last-gen plain-ole XBOX impressions or write-ups? I've heard that there are more features and improvements with the xbox version, but what about the important stuff? How bout the gameplay, stats, recruiting, polls, etc?

there's a thread on OS.. but goddamn if I don't want to smack 90% of the people on it.
Someone threw 40 Long Bombs in a game, nothing but long bombs, completed 13 for 520 yards with 9 INT and claimed it was broken. (OF COURSE if you throw 40 Long Bombs, you'll complete about 13, and have 9 bombs INT'd.. gah)

This is probably a dumb question but is Operation Sports still at operationsports.com? I can't get that website to work for me, I get the Page Not Found message . I've tried an old bookmark, typing in the address directly and a google link.

They are saying the deep ball on the PS2 is very weak.

I just got faked out by the automated call which said it will be available at Monday. Then I heard the "at midnight" part of it. For a split second, I actually thought they were releasing a day early. Oh well, only 48 hours or so to go. I keep reading mostly positive impressions of the 360 version at OS, and I don't really remember the last time a game got so many positive impressions there.

Been reading Operationsports.com (forgot I had a login for there... it was for Winning Eleven 8), and it seems the overwhelming opinion for those who have the game (360 version) is that it is the best gameplay experience for an EA game (maybe any football game) ever. There are some minor disappointments with the crowd (it isn't loud enough) and lack of some features.

I can't believe some of these people at Operation Sports who are using forged EA early release vouchers to get the game early. I mean, yeah, I went to a few stores to see if anybody was releasing the game early (especially after my experience at Sam's), but it seems really bizarre to start Photoshopping vouchers. Is there even such a thing as an early release voucher? Did EA really send actual vouchers out to people, or did somebody just come up with this as an idea?

Since I'm waiting on rosters, Tuesday is fine with me.
I'm going to start with Missouri, heisman level defaults, 8 min quarters. I'm reading heisman level on the ps2 and xbox versions is quite realistic. |

I'll play a dynasty with Rutgers, but I'm not gonna post one when I have to edit the team's roster so much to fix things. I may do one with Colorado or Northwestern and post it here tho.
Edit: Washington is in the mix too. Last edited by General Mike : 07-16-2006 at 06:36 PM. |

The running game reminds me a lot of the last NFL game done by 2k or whoever did the one opposite of Madden.

I've never been really good enough to do well on Heisman, but I've read the 360 version Heisman mode plays very realistically this year, as well. I'm going to try the same settings with only penalty sliders used. |

Now that I've read more impressions from ps2 owners, I think I'll play a few games on AA defaults first to see where I'm at - skill wise. It has been awhile since I've played an EA football game. I'm sure I'll max penalty sliders as well... there has NEVER been many in any EA game whatsoever. |

Most people consider that a very good thing. I've also heard other people say this about the game. Quite a few people on OS have noted that it seems to share some of the good qualities of NCAA 2k5, which is a good thing. |

It's good. It just seems like your RB falls more realistically. Can fight for more yards. I mean, it retains arcade-ish feeling, but at the same time has a sense of momentum and theres none of the stop on a dime, spin, go the other way stuff when youre going full speed. |

To make it ultra realistic are you going to throw 2-yard bubble screens with Chase and then run on 3rd and 6? |

It turns out those vouchers are not just "modified", they don't even exist in the first place.
I think that makes it absolutely hilarious.

Yeah. I'm amazed at some of those stories. I'm really looking forward to playing this game, but I wouldn't waste 4 hours of my weekend driving 2 hours each way just to go look for it.

i got the phone call saying it will be released at midnight as well, i just can't stay up that late to get a game...i'll just have to pick it up after work tomorrow. I also just got the xbox 360 data transfer thing...so hopefully I will have rosters and everything ready to go tomorrow night so I can start a dynasty...I'm thinking Southern Miss, or UL-Lafayette as usual.

Dammit! American Express raised my credit limit and extra 10 grand, damn you fools!!
Now I'm trying to get at least a 23" HDTV to put in my office to play an Xbox 360 that I want for nothing more than I'm a baby who wants NCAA 2007 in HD just for the hell of it. My wife just shut the door in my face. Ok, off to Walmart I go since Circuit City is too far away.. now where are my keys? |

Are the 360 transfer kits available in stores? I haven’t seen any yet, but I haven’t looked too hard.
