I saw the UK version first and thought it was amazing. I was very concerned when the US version was announced and figured it would suck. The pilot episode was horrendous (they basically followed the UK script) and felt like "community theater does The Office" IMO. The rest of the first season got better, but still was far below the UK version IMO.
Somewhere early in the second season it got its legs and actually surpassed the UK version IMO. The third season has taken it to another level entirely. I can't imagine this show can get any better at this point. |

My DVR didn't record the whole thing. I believe I missed out on about two minutes worth of Office. I saw everything up to Pam's speech to 'everyone'(Jim) and she walked into the water. That's it. Should I download the episode to catch the last bit?

I love when Stanley plays a big part in an episode, his character is probably my favorite fringe character. When Michael told him to "go to the back of the bus" and his 'look' in the sumo suit were priceless.
BTW, on another note, I found out from a friend of mine that the phone number that was on the fliers from last weeks episode was vaild. If you give it a call, you get a recording from Dwight asking about the sex predator. I called it and it was quite funny, I recommend the others out there do so as well. The number is: 1-800-984-3672 Last edited by TurnerONU22 : 05-10-2007 at 08:43 PM. |

Michael put a damper on her speech by saying that it was great, but they were looking for someone with more of a sales background. Then the little clip at the end just showed them back on the bus and singing the theme song from the Flintstones. |

Dola...
Should add that it is probably not worth downloading or worrying about. The episode pretty much ended and the singing appeared to be more fun for the cast than for the fans. |

Andy floating in the lake in his sumo uniform was just priceless.
And Pam got some courage! I'm thinking Karen gets the corporate job, freeing Jim up.

That's a good bet, considering Rashida Jones recently shot two pilots. I don't think she'll be around much longer. |

Btw, going back to an early debate, I think this 40 minute episode showed why an hour long Office won't work. Sure they can pull it off every once in a while, but I thought this week just went too long and wasn't nearly as good as the last few weeks. Some decent few jokes, but a meh episode (though a meh ep of the Office is better than 99% of what else is out there).

I really enjoyed the episode tonight. Although if Pam is in a two-piece, I want to see some skin...

The best part was at the end when they sang The Flintstones.

Well, it's not a sales position; I don't think Jan ever sold anything. That said, I don't necessary think he has much management experience, either; but I wouldn't put it past a company to hire a newly-minted MBA with experience in the company. |

Yeah, I'm not so sure he was talking to David Wallace, the boss. Did I miss an episode where it was announced that he graduated from business school? It seems a little far fetched that he was chosen over Michael, Karen, and Jim who are all much more qualified. I think Karen got the job and will be gone next year, but then I'm not sure who Ryan was talking to. |

HaHa! Ryan's in corporate! And I love how he casually said "We're done" to Kelly. Just brilliant.
Though I would have loved to have also seen a scene of Dwight and Andy painting the office back to its proper color (rather than black, LOL). Quote:
Yes . It's why he wasn't a 'temp' anymore. After he got his MBA, he graduated to a regular job. And I definately think it was Ryan. And he was speaking to Wallace (you saw him talking right before it showed it was Ryan on the other end).

I know he was talking to someone at the end but was it Wallace? First of all, Ryan going from junior sales associate to regional director of the corporation with only one year experience not even making a sale is a little unrealistic. Second, Ryan was promoted to a regular job in the 1st episode of the 3rd season, Gay Witch Hunt, and then in a later episode Business School he was obviously still in school getting his MBA I assume. So maybe he just graduated and they promoted him over everyone else with more experience. He may have gotten the job and Ryan as Michael's boss would be funny, but I'm just saying the writers could be throwing us for a twist. |

if i had to guess, they had to finish the episode before they knew if karen would be coming back - thanks to her shooting 2 different pilots. so they prepared themselves to lose her, but did it in a way where they could bring her back if need be. im assuming that ryan getting the job is misleading in some way, but who knows.

I know that you really don't want it to happen, but I think its a bit silly to say "was it Wallace"? Who else has an MBA on the show and why would Ryan respond like he was speaking to Wallace about getting a new job if he wasn't? And he said "we're through" to Kelly, meaning... he's moving away! And I doubt they'd be writing Ryan out of the show entirely... so Ryan obviously is moving away and Wallace was calling someone who has an MBA to fill the role. And Wallace's call was right before Ryan on the phone with someone offering a job. Add to the fact that the Ryan/Kelly thing is getting a bit old as well as, well, anything with Ryan as he is now. If it was a twist, it'd be an incredibly stupid one, IMO.

Not too mention the whole "coffee" thing when Michael got back to the office (i.e., temp unwilling to get Michael a cup of coffee). That was also a sign of foreshadowing later on in the show.

They can also write Karen out by saying that she was so upset with Jim that she quit. They don't necessarily have her take Jan's job. I think that Ryan got the job, but eventually Jan will get it back after Ryan can't handle Michael.

That's my guess. We saw Jim driving back from NYC alone (how the hell did Rashida get home?). So she's obviously going to be pissed at him and she had no real reason to be at Scrantion anyways other than him. I think we'll see her on the premier episode next weekend and then ... bye, bye. |

Saw a report that Jenna Fischer (Pam) fell down a marble staircase yesterday while promoting The Office and fractured four bones in her back. She's expected to fully recover, but it did put a frowny face on me. Her too, I'd imagine.
