UNC has turned the ball over 5 times in the last 3 or 4 minutes, and Boston College simply isn't missing anything. Freshman Reggie Jackson is shooting 8-11 and has 17 points completely out of nowhere.
74-60 Boston college with 8 minutes left. |

I'd like to flip between the NC game and the Football game.. but I don't think it's on where I live.

dear god, UNC is shooting 11/20 from the line, one of those nights where everything is going wrong. Lawson and Hansbrough just both missed free throws, two of the best FT shooters on the team.
Green just went 1-2 as well, down 10 with 5 minutes to go. 12/22 from the line now. |

Michigan with a big win vs Illinois today. Needed it after the loss vs Wiscy; could afford to drop the first two Big 10 games at home.
Manny Harris is still studly. Anyway, Manny crush aside, this next 3 game stretch is huge. Have to go 2-1 at a minimum with games @ Indiana, vs Iowa and @ Illinois. |

1 for 2 from the line again. Nothing is more frustrating than being down just a couple points and seeing that you've missed 12+ free throws.

ANOTHER missed free throw. 13 missed free throws in the game, down by 4 with 45 seconds to go.

With BC falling all over themselves in the last 3 minutes, UNC would usually come back and win this game. They just missed so many open shots and free throws. Grats to BC. 0-1 in the ACC for North Carolina.

we're now 2-0 vs. UNC when they're ranked #1!!! I honestly was worried the last like 3 minutes when it seemed like BC wasn't gonna make shots and pull it out...but wow...great win for the guys!!! |

Besides Missouri.. I'm a big NC fan when it comes to college basketball.. tough loss... I didn't even know they were on tonight.
Thanks Radii for at least getting to watch the end of the game.. even if it was a loss.. I bet NC will be shooting free throws tonight. |

actually Sanders has been playing good all season so far - my brother had tipped me off to him a while back (he goes to most of the games). But Reggie Jackson - wow...his performance tonight came out of nowhere and was the difference maker

Watched this one, thought Michigan played very well in the 2nd half. I was definitely unhappy with Wisky beating you guys in opener, putting you in near "must-win" territory in 2nd game of season if you wanted to entertain hopes of winning Big Ten. Manny is so far and away the best player in the Big Ten. The idea of Robbie Hummel as the Preseason POTY was just dumb. |

I don't know how you could ever be a Mizzou fan and also root for Huckleberry Hound. My goodness. Tigers are looking awfully good right now. Assuming a win over Coppin State later this week, we'll be 13-2 heading into conference play. Haven't had that kind of a record this late in the season since the early Quin Snyder years. That blowout win over Cal is looking better every day. |

Big game tonight. Texas travels to Arkansas. Both teams could really improve their NCAA resume in tonight's game.

With conference play now starting up, you can take a peek at the Pomeroy rankings to get a record prediction for each team. His ranking system did a surprisingly good job of picking out conference winners last year. Here's the predictions that his rankings give at this point for conference play. Note that divisions have been removed and teams were just ranked from top to bottom..........

UConn is visiting WVU tonight. We have been playing well of late, but I'm pretty worried that injuries (2 guards have been out for quite awhile, including our starting PG) will make BE play even tougher. Need to win the home games, so this will be a big one.

Pretty enormous game with Texas visiting Arkansas tonight. I'll bet there won't be many more animated crowds in a basketball arena than tonight in Bud Walton Arena. On ESPN2 at 8 central.

Georgia leads Tech 38-28 at the half in Atlanta.
This would be the Georgia team that some are saying may not win a single game in SEC play this year. Sigh

Georgia just played my mizzou team pretty close until a late run put them away. They have some talent, including that guy who just came back from injury.

And Tech has a guy who is supposedly being talked up as an eventual lottery pick. If we actually had, you know, a real coach then Woodbury ought not be that significant. His legacy, which hopefully will come to a rational end sooner rather than later, will be of complete failure to ever assemble anything that looked like a "team" as opposed to five guys who happen to wear the same clothes.

Can't get our hands on any loose balls. Missing everything, turning the ball over silly. Still only down 2, 20-18. I'll take it after this start. Now, just settle down and execute.

31-27 Texas lead at halftime. Worst half of basketball in a long time for both teams, I'd imagine. Ugly. Something like 1-24 combined from three.

Tech rallies from 13 down to win 67-62, but this line from the short AP recap pretty much sums it up.
On the heels of a 45-42 victory in football, the Yellow Jackets (9-5) fought back in a sloppy game that provided little hope either team is on the verge of turning around their disappointing seasons.

Tough loss for the Mountaineers.
UConn has some intimidating size and, in the end, we could not match up with them physically (it was nearly impossible to keep Thabeet away from the offensive glass) and did not shoot well enough to overcome it. Still, if they are a top 10 team, I feel pretty confident that we are one of the top 25 or 3 teams in the country right now. |
