Lots of good picks taken lately. Was thinking of taking Jerry Lewis with my next pick. Both Bergman and Lean are great directors. Jodie Foster gets more and more amazing each time I see her.

Supporting actress is kind of a tough category, but I'll go with Holly Hunter. She can play a variety of roles, and she always does it well.

After this draft, I think that all the 'coaches' should give us an overview of the film that they are going to produce with all this talent.

In the category of Best Actress (comedy) I'm going to select somebody that has left a definite mark on the comedic world. Everybody knows her simply by her first name, so that's how I'm going to select her. She is...
Roseanne my consecutive pick will be up shortly

Alright, since this thing keeps bogging down in the middle, it's time to institute some changes. I say we move immediately to a 12-hour limit, and if a person is still on the clock (ala Shorty) they are skipped for the next person on the list (although they can still make their pick(s) at any time).

my bad guys, I'd waited so long I figured it'd be at least another week before I picked again, come back to find out I'm the one slowing it up.
I'm going to go ahead and get the hardest remaining pick out of the way and choose a supporting actress. Shelley Winters Supporting Actress The Diary of Anne Frank, a Patch of Blue..both Oscar winners, making her one of only two to win BSA twice. Lots of other good work and bunches of starring roles as well. Was the best person I could find to fill this slot. |

Damn, I didn't think anyone would select Shelley Winters..... but she's the only two time winner of the supporting actress oscar and has had one of the longest careers running.

Heh, wanted to snatch her up before anyone else got the idea. Supporting actress is a tough category overall. From what little research I did it looks like Dianne Wiest also won two BSA Oscars, both for Woody Allen flicks. Hope I don't get reamed for naming another name. |

Sorry guys, very very bad things happening to our servers at work.
Anyway, I would like to select Sidney Poitier for Actor/Drama. Just a few of the great films he has starred in include: "The Defiant Ones","Lilies of the Field", "A Raisin in the Sun","To Sir With Love", "Guess Whose Coming to Dinner", "A Patch of Blue", "In the Heat of the Night", "Sneakers"...... Ok, maybe not "Sneakers". Next pick up shortly. |

The first pick of round #9 will be Gene Wilder for Actor/Comedy.
First movie role was a memorable comedic bit part in Bonnie & Clyde. From there he teamed up with Mel Brooks ("The Producers", Blazing Saddles" & "Young Frankenstein"), wWody Allen ("Everything You Always Wanted to Know...."), and Richard Pryor ("Silver Streak", "Stir Crazy" & "See No Evil, Hear No Evil") One of my favorites and I am glad he was still around this late in the game. (edit) Oh yeah. He played a small role in the film "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" (/edit) Last edited by SplitPersonality1 : 02-18-2004 at 01:52 PM. |
