2 things:
1. Rocket League, thoughts on controller vs keyboard, recommendations? Anyone bought the 50 buck steam controller and using it for this game? 2. Randomly lucked into an online console purchase Xbox1, used but with EXACTLY the four game I just almost bought via sale on steam ..... basically a used system full price with a bundle of two dollars worth of games. Fallout4 here I come!!!

I played Rocket League with a m&k for one night, then bought an Xbox One controller. Can't imagine playing it with anything else now.

Yeah, I'm really struggling with the mouse and keyboard. I really like the game, but I'm just not putting everything together very well.

Picked up a few games today as the sale comes to a close. A few I picked up after looking at this article about indie games that I saw on Twitter: IndieGames.com 2015 Staff Picks: Recommendations by genre
The indie games I grabbed? Mini Metro, Cross Set, The Spatials, Empire City Tycoon, and Squarecells. Very nice set of strategy and puzzle games. I've tried Cross Set and Mini Metro already and haven't gotten past Mini Metro. Very simple game, but fun trying to build a subway system to meet the ever increasing demand of different cities. Worth the money for it. Cross Set is a good number logic puzzle. Simple rules, shouldn't take long to get through all of the puzzles, but also worth the money. Looking forward to playing the rest, if I can ever stop playing NBA 2K16. I'm really waiting for the last patch and the All Star game so I can have all of the jerseys available in myGM. |

If you like SquareCells take a look at HexCells from the same developer. The compete pack is $2.69 for the rest of the sale |

I'd absolutely go controller for this. The Steam Controller is really good for it since you have the two grip buttons and can keep your thumb on the right pad at all times in case you need to make adjustments to the camera. Any controller works well though. |

Saw that and picked them up too. At that price, even if I don't like them, it's not a big loss. Thanks for the recommendation. |

yeah, it kinda does. Still thinking about getting it even at full prize, seems a perfect low-key game if you´ve been around for the age of games on floppy discs

looks like? Wow its almost an exact rip. Not that I mind, it looks like an updated rip, which is good. I think it has some new ideas in there like script writing. I don't think that was in MAD TV. Either was, my 2 hours with it last night was fun and worth it at 6.49. Not sure its worth full price though (but thats just me, as I've set a rule for myself that I don't buy games that aren't 50% off except for FM and OOTP)

Just played my first couple matches of Rocket League. Like most I suspect, I played the tutorial and figured there's no way I'm ever going to have an impact on a game. I suck. Then I played my first 2 games and got a goal in each. First one was kind of a free-for-al lI lucked in on. Second was a definite aimed shot almost from midfield, game winner with 30 seconds left.
It was pretty damn enjoyable. Hopefully it wasn't 100% luck and I keep enjoying the game. |

Speaking of Rocket League:
I'm planning on doing a Twitch Stream thursday night starting around 8 PM Eastern. Hoping to get folks together for some Rocket league, especially if we can get Skype or something going for maximum trash talk

Snow Day is actually easier, because the puck is much less "bouncy", you learn how to read its path better.. which is the most important thing about Rocket League, you want to be where the ball is GOING, not where it necessarily currently IS.

I bought Far Cry 4. Spent an hour troubleshooting a sound issue and various other bugs, most of which there is no solution for even this long after release(and effect other Ubisoft games). Played 30 minutes of uninspired gameplay. Asked for a refund and got one almost immediately.
Nice work Valve. Fuck off Ubisoft. |

Jeff, are you going to be around for the Stream tomorrow night, Rocket League rules
And some of the goals (like #1) look obviously set up, but still are amazing.

Alright, so I installed rocket league but haven't played due to wanting to wait for a controller .
Am I hearing that the Xbox one controller will work for PC? Id like that instead of forking over the cash for the steam one. Obv, never PC gamed with a controller.

Yes, but you need to buy the Xbox One PC Adapter.

I picked up The Banner Saga, some CK2 DLC that was on sale I didn't have yet, and one other game that I'm not going to mention the name of. :P It's the third game that I've played the most, sadly enough.

It was indeed very large. I'm finding the Nightblade and the Demolitionist the most enjoyable classes. I want to get some more time in with my Arcanist, but the other two are taking up most of my playing time so far. Last edited by Vince, Pt. II : 01-10-2016 at 09:13 PM. |

I love the arcanist splitting missile attack. I just keep adding to it and rarely need anything else.

I'm enjoying Grim Dawn as well. Just beat Loghorrean, the final boss. That was a bit annoying I think I died 50 times. Probably way undergeared, but I got that far so stuck it out.

I am enjoying Grim Dawn as well and am about to venture into finding/fighting the warden. I am on veteran level, which to me seems about right for difficulty and am playing a 'Witchblade' I guess Soldier/Occulist.
The amount of theorycrafting is amazing. I have to be honest an upon getting this game on 01.01.16 I just 'liked' it. I didn't look at too much stuff and my first thought/fear was it was a Diablo clone with grinding, which I hate. I played a couple days on a handful of attempts and wasn't grabbed by it so uninstalled it (only paid 15 for it at the time). Watched a few more Let's Plays on it and gave it another chance and haven't looked back and now I thoroughly enjoy it. The quests are interesting, the zones are nicely laid out and transition well and the amount of variation for your toon is pretty deep. I just hope the grind doesn't end up like Diablo. So far though, as everyone else has said, I am impressed. |

I am really loving Grim Dawn, but I really suck at it. I wanted to use guns, so I picked demolitionist and I found I like the 2 handed shotguns, but I do die a lot at normal difficulty. I just like exploring and fighting. I have no idea how to build this character. Any the constellation charts? No idea what to do there.
So any advice, or any good build sites that aren't a year+ old?
