To this point in the game:

Broncos: 19 pass plays, 13 run plays (59% pass)
Colts: 10 pass plays, 4 run plays (71% pass) (note: 1 ended up a run for Luck, 1 was a sack)

Looking a lot like Seattle v. Denver again if everyone stays healthy. Can't see anyone in the AFC competing.

Well, was expecting a Colts loss but this is atrocious. Line injuries are going to kill them this year.
At this point, if the Colts can survive at 2-2 when Mathis is back, I'll be happy.

It's early, but on paper isn't that the same as everyone was saying before the season started? I think the NFC is a little closer, but Denver and Seattle are each a cut above their respective conferences.

I stated last year in game one that Julius Thomas was the difference maker for Denver. I think him and Manning are the two keys. He presents a matchup problem nobody can easily take care of. (ok, outside of Seattle) We haven't seen the rookie WR everyone has been impressed with or Welker.

275 yards to 62. 17 first downs to 3.

I can enjoy this for this week. Next week a pissed off KC team will be tougher than it looks now. Week 3 is on the road to Seattle. I'm guessing the yardage split will not be that one sided in that one.

There are teams that could take down Seattle in the NFC on a good day or with a little luck. I can't think of a team in the afc that has a shot against Denver. Just stacked.

I think K.C. will be just as much of a pushover as the Colts have been. The defensive additions for Denver have them on another level.

Disagree. Divisional game against a very pissed off team. If the Chiefs get throttled from the opening quarter on, they may vie for the number one pick. I fully expect them to come out with some surprises on offense and keep it close through the third quarter. Don't get me wrong, I see Denver winning the football game, but I think it will be a game.

How do multiple refs miss this call? I mean seriously, he's down TWICE and it's clear that he's down. The officials damned well should not have allowed that play to continue Chris. A major injury could have taken place because officials couldn't see TWO obvious times the runner was down.

At the end of the day, nobody was hurt, but that was terrible.

I'm with you. This trend of refs swallowing the whistle on straight forward calls is not a good one. The forced review on turnovers and scoring plays is what lets them get away with it, but when you let somebody run 75 yards like that there will be injuries sooner or later.

Well, a long way to go before we get to that point. . . BUT the trend is already poor. He's going to be good enough by himself that he prevents them from getting top draft picks. He came in with the cupboard aging and bare with potential stars. That means the team has to draft well.

The Colts haven't shown an ability to do that lately.

Well it's hard to draft well when you essentially give away your first round pick for free.

To this day, I don't understand what the Colts were thinking when they gave up a 1st for Trent Richardson.

Not exactly sure I'd call that "drilling". He barely got touched and did a flop.

It's why they put that rule in play. You go ahead and raise one foot up around your chest and have a guy "barely touch" your plant leg going full throttle. Tell me how your leg feels at that point. I know all punters act and I'm not saying Colquitt didn't act there, but that was a clear hit to the plant foot. It wasn't a questionable call, it was an obvious one. I think he was more than "barely touched," but if you acknowledge he was barely touched, you are admitting it should have been a penalty. Terrible call, but coming from this group of officials who just allowed a guy tackled twice to get up and run, not very shocking.

Regardless, he didn't get "drilled". You completely misrepresented what happened on the play.

Note, before anyone throws a fit, that isn't why the Colts are coming back. Denver took their foot off the gas here and deserve everything they are getting here. Very sloppy play this second half. Onside kick should have been recovered, Manning just missed two wide open WR, running game never got going, not enough pressure on Luck. . .

The refs just blew a call on an out of bounds play on the Colts too. Same ref who made the mistake on the Luck TD I believe. Colts have a real shot at this game now.

watch it again, it was a lot more than the soft touch you make it out to be. The ref blew the call and blew it badly. That was no misrepresentation. The only thing that scares me is that even Collinsworth saw it clearly, which does make me want to check my eyes.

A flip from last year. Colts tried to run away, Broncos hung in and then had a very real chance to win the game. Colts were impressive. Denver hopefully learned a lesson tonight.

LaMichael James released. No surprise as Hyde is the real deal and finally the Niners have a replacement for Gore moving forward once he hangs up the cleats.

Troy, I'm a big Broncos fan; watched the game, and I was very much not impressed with our squad.

Manning and JThomas had a great night, but there were some BIG, BIG concerns about watching the Broncos play.

#1. As you pointed out, where was the pass rush? Yes, Luck got the ball out quick, and yes, the interior D-Line played an excellent game, but Von Miller was MIA, and Ware did little to impress. The dynamic duo looked liked duds.

#2. All the talk about the revamped Oline and getting Clady back, and they did a nice job in pass protection, but Monte Ball was hit in the backfield more often than not. Props to Ball, he ran well after first contact, found ways to wriggle through, but if the Oline/scheme can't do a better job of opening holes, Ball will be a stallion kept in the stable instead of cut loose.

#3. OC Adam Gase, it would appear, is sticking to the same, sorry gameplan that Seattle blew up in the Bowl. Sure, bubble screens, bunch formation picks and running a TE up the seam will be good enough to get Manning 40+ TDs in the AFC, but if they see Seattle again .... How did Manning put up a record for completions in the Bowl and only score 8 points? Because they weren't throwing the ball (effectively) more than 3 yards downfield. Broncos MUST develop a midrange passing attack. Please, someone, slap Gase around a bit. Manning got those 600 points last year, not him. He needs help.

#4. Punt returns. Oh my. Oh, my, my. Cut Burse now and find someone, anyone on waivers out there. Sign a 15-year vet if need be, just someone who knows how to field a punt.

Dropped passes were a problem, too, but hey, that's DMT for you. We laugh around our house when someone drops a dish or a cell phone or what not, "Oops! He just 88'ed it!"

Broncos got a big win, but looked very, very vulnerable after that UGLY second half. The win is masking some early season flaws.

Can't wait to see my beloved Cards play tonight- I worry that they might have taken a step back (maybe a big one) defensively with all the players they lost in the offseason, so hope they will prove me wrong. game time decision on whether Gates and Ellington play. I suspect neither will.

The Giants as a team don't have much to be excited about. Trying to be as objective as possible, they just seem like a really boring team.

If Rashad Jennings really takes off, I bet interest level increases a good deal.
