Good pick by Minnesota. I expected Brewer to be gone one pick earlier.

Gotta say, I'm not the least surprised that Noah is still on the board.

I'm not impressed at all by Brewer. Definately see him as a bust.

Yeah, I think Wright has insane potential. He could be another Kevin Garnett.

Great pick for the Bobcats (finally). Wright will be a star.

I just don't see the C's going anywhere in the playoffs, even with Allen+Pierce...sure maybe they sneak into the 8-spot or something, but at that point i'd rather just miss the playoffs again and crap...even pick the china-man or wright, trade away pierce, blow it all up and keep rebuilding.

If Pierce/Allen stay healthy, AlJ doesn't regress, Rondo keeps it up, and Perk can be a legitimate starting C, they could be OK. I don't really like the make-up of the team, but they have some ballers.

The most awesome thing in the entire world would be if Sacramento picked Law. Atlanta would then have to take the bumble bee at #11, right?

Eastern Conference people. Barring some other major trades, I predict Bulls versus Celtics in the conference finals prior to the thrashing from whomever Stern says will win the West.

The speculation on the Rockets board is the the #26 for Ike trade, to make the numbers work, would actually be #26, Rafer Alston, and Luther Head for Ike and Jamaal Tinsley.

Hate to see Luth go, but I like Ike and think he could do well next to Yao.

You don't think they're one decent big man away from being a top team in the east with Allen and Pierce? Of course the Celtics have needed a center forever and have never gotten him.

Good pick. I like Noah better than Horford--though I wouldn't bet the arm on either of them.

They basically now have a 3-year window to be a 45-50 win team, before they have to rebuild again. Of course, that's exactly where they were when they blew everything up last time.

Hm, I don't know that I like that trade for the Rockets. Isn't Tinsley's contract bad and long?

My bro said earlier he thought the Kings would pick Noah. A pretty boy trust fund child who looks like he wears makeup on the court, playing in front of the gap-tooth rednecks of Sacramento? Oh please make that happen...

...shoot, stupid Bulls.

There is no conceivable way for Cleveland to avoid the conference finals, unless LeBron James suddenly retires or something.

Well, it'll be interesting to see who takes the last shot...but with Pierce and Allen, that's two guys who could potentially carry the team on his back at any given time to get through the East. Get into the Finals, and anything goes.

edit: Damn, thread is moving fast. I'm gonna need to pick up the pace.

I agree, but I think they were going to take the best bigman. Hawes might have been a better option due to his scoring touch, but I think Noah is a better prospect than Hawes.

well they've got Jefferson continuing to develop as their "big man" so depending on how he develops, sure.

I don't know...remains to be seen how well Allen & Pierce mesh.

Well, the draft has gone pretty much as expected thus far, with maybe Wright going lower than I thought he would.

Should be interesting to see how things go 10-20.

I guess its possible for Rondo and Jefferson to suddenly transmogrify into John Stockton and Karl Malone. It doesn't seem particularly likely though.

I don't know. Unless LeBron gets some help, the Bulls will dominate the East for a long time. Tyrus Thomas is going to be an amazing player and Noah should hold down the fort inside well enough once Wallace is out of the picture.

I'm glad the Bulls took Noah. But moreso because I was afraid to death we were going to take Spencer Hawes who has "Chris Mihm" written all over him. Paxson has a very solid draft record and so if he think Noah can help the Bulls, I trust him.

Funny though, because had Noah come out last year, the Bulls may have taken him with their #2 last year. So I would think they might be happy with who they got a year later.

Eh, I don't see Ben & Noah playing together much anyway. Noah should be able to provide good breaks for Ben while he fully develops, and hopefully take the starting center role down the line. Between Tyrus and Noah, one of them needs to learn how to score, though.

No one will care, though, because, yes, Thomas will be very, very good.

As I said earlier in the thread (and in last years draft thread), Rondo is going to be a very good if not great PG. As a starter for the last 10 games of the season he averaged 13.0pts.5+reb,5+ast,2.5 stl, only 1.9 to, , and shot 50+%.

I think Noah is as much of a sure thing as anybody in the draft. He'll be a very good player. Any of those Florida guys ... they just won back to back titles in college, that's gotta count for something.

As a Celtics fan, I'm amused by the "well, they might get to the conference finals, but then what?" line of thinking. If the Celtics somehow got back into the NBA finals again, even as a 50 win team or whatever, it would be a HUGE deal, at least to me.

Chief, how big of a bust do you see Noah being? He's not being picked at #2, he's down there at #9. I think he could be a double-double player in the league, which at his draft position, I would think is a solid value.
