ESPN isn't handling these picks very well...they were delaying the first round and now they can't seem to decide whether they want to show the picks live or not

And then Houston passed on Justice when they had one of the worst OL in football to take another defensive player.

Hey, if they started giving him protection, it would be like starting over with him - he's learning by trying to avoid the rush. If there was no rush, he'd be a rookie again. They've got too much invested in him for Carr to be akin to a rookie again...

Have I mentioned that I love the 49er's draft so far...

Like I said, I have faith in Nolan and the new guys with the 9'ers

Then call it a bad pick. Reach would be taking a guy who was expected to go much lower.

Sorry.

It was a bad pick, and a reach. Happy?

EDIT: Plus they traded down 7 slots to get him, while adding the last picks in the 3rd and 4th rounds. I think it's safe to say they were considering him at 25. That's a major reach.

Good pick for the Browns. I've seen Jackson play quite a bit and I think he'll be a good NFL player.

Yeah, they are having a really good draft, and got a little help with players falling maybe one or two spots more than some projected.

Another trade and the Jets don't take Justice? A little surprising but I'll wait for the terms.

You bet. I actually wasn't surprised by the pick as there has been speculation the Bucs have liked him since just after last year's draft. Originally, they liked him for his versatility as a guard or tackle. But personally, I don't think he's a tackle. He's quick enough and has long arms, but his body is a bit thicker and shorter than you'd generally want at tackle probably.

I think he ideally fits as a guard. He's pretty powerful and should do well pulling out on running plays. Against teams with quicker defensive tackles, he may need help early on with pass blocking as he seems to struggle when he's on an island at times. But that's not generally near the problem at guard as it can be at tackle. His upside is good, though, and with how hard he works, he may be able to improve that part of his game significantly in the next couple of years.

That's probably more than you wanted to know, but hey...

Redskins gave up too much to move up 18 spots I think.

I can't believe Justice has fallen this far...

Wasn't he projected to be a top 10 pick at one point?

I'd have to agree. A starter in the league is worth way more than 18 spots.

Yeah he was projected to goto Arizona at 10, he's probably loading his cap gun for a fake drive-by of Lienart's house as we speak.

Jackson is now a Patriot.

Everyone thought there would be a lot of trades in the top 10 of this draft. They just guessed the wrong round.

I was hoping the Pats would take him at 21...so I'm certainly happy w/ trading up to grab him!

Not saying I love the pick, but it's not bad. It's wise of them to think a few years ahead and take a solid DE to groom for when Strahan retires a few years from now.

Yeah, that seems like a lot. Using that Draft Value chart, does it equate at all or did they just "stick it to themselves" on that trade?

Saints got Jeff Faine in the trade with the Browns- I love this trade for the Saints. We got a starting Center to slide down 7 spots? Still a chance to get Winston Justice- Could really solidify the O-line.
