Well, Coug won't be back until later tonight, so without any feedback of what is right or wrong, I didn't see much point in tossing out even more useless thought.

I can't bear to read all 300+ posts here, so this might have been covered, but could Fun D refer to the Bay of Fundy? Are there any 80's songs with Bay in their title?

A few guesses:

No Hamlet ending = Ray Parker, Jr., "Ghostbusters"
…help them up = Club Nouveau, "Lean on Me"
Chess statement = Olivia Newton John, "Make a Move on Me"
Fun D song = Donna Summer, "She Works Hard For the Money"

On the right track, but no. The Bay of Fundy is known for something in particular.

Friday on Saturday = Take it from the perspective of Saturday.

Fun D song = Very close to getting this, I think

…help them up = The song title fits exactly in front of this clue statement.

Jack’s critical dance partner = Start with a famous Jack and work through it.

No Hamlet ending = Think famous soliloquy

That was pretty fun, and wasted a hell of a lot of my time these past couple of weeks.

WSUCoug, if you don't mind, I'd like to try my hand at doing a 90s puzzle, in the same format...
