Did Paula just say she was afraid Mikalah would not have a unique sound?

Mikalah has replaced Constantine as my pick to go this week. That was horrid.

I guess it must be the rock music side of me, but I can forgive Constantine's lesser voice because he performs well. Vocally, he's not a top 50. But he gives a much more believable performance than someone like Federov. I don't get it, I guess. Federov should be on a Disney cruiseliner.

Mikalah is going down this week, though.

No, you are right on. Constatine is no threat to win, but he is much better than Federov.

Yes, but that is still not good. I can go to churches within 5 miles of my house and find comparable to better talent. As matter of fact, I have a friend who looks like him, but has a better voice.

The only thing I can say about Constantine is that a real rocker would never in a million years choose to sing a fuckin Partridge Family song.

Overall, best performances of the season. One of the best drops down a notch (Nadia), Anwar continues to show he doesn't get it, but others (Carrie, Scott, Vonzell) give their best so far, and Bo shows me he has got chops.

No, he is a poser, but with half as good a voice he gives twice the performance of Anwar.

Wow, tonight it is hard. Personally, it would have to be Federov, Milkailah, Nikko, with Barbara Streisand Jr. being put out of our misery. The actual will probably close to that, with maybe one switch as a surprise.

Tonight Overall 1. Carrie 1. Carrie 2. Bo 2. Bo 3. Scott 3. Nadia 4. Vonzell 4. Anwar 5. Anwar 5. Vonzell 6. Jessica 6. Scott 7. Nikko 7. Constantine 8. Nadia 8. Nikko 9. Constantine 9. Anthony 10. Anthony 10. Jessica 11. Mikalah 11. Mikalah

Overall, this was a much better how than last week. The voting tomorrow is pretty much paint by numbers though. Next week should be much closer, as I can see Jessica, Anthony and Nikko all with a chance of a possible exit.

I think the compliments she received from the panel will really help Jessica this week. I think she avoids the bottom three this time.

I liked Constantine tonight. He did the one thing very few others ever do in this contest; made a song his own.

Mikaelah definitely by far the worst; Nadia wasn't good either, but her other performances are by far enough to keep her around.

Pig Face (Jessica) - bleh. Can't mess up words.

Vonzell was good, but I had no clue she was that young -- I had thought she was pushing the 28yo age limit!

So, for me, tonight:

Liked: Constantine, Carrie, Vonzell, Bo
Did NOT Like: Mikaelah, Nadia, Anthony, Jessica
Eh: Scott, Anwar, Nikko

I think they are kind of broken up into three classes this season.

Constantine, Mikalah, Nikko, and Federov are all pretty unlistenable to me and I can't imagine them releasing songs that people will want to buy.

Jessica, Vonzell, Scott, and Anwar all have some good characteristics and could do produce a good song if things worked out right.

Bo, Nadia, and Carrie (Carrie to a lesser extent, in my opinion) are very good already and should be able to put out some good songs.

Is it me or does Jessica not have a neck? It's pretty obvious Simon needed to pimp her out or risk having a sausage fest + Carrie down the road. As to Mikalah, if she can't sing Taylor Dayne, what can she sing?

I'm a tad biased for Nikko, but I thought he did quite well tonight... maybe a tad on the "Usher" look, but a voice.

No question the level of play was much, much higher tonight. The top four performances were all very, very good. On a scale of 1-100, 100 being Kelly Clarkson at the top of her game, and 1 being me in the shower...

1. Bo. So far, it seems he can do no wrong. Becoming the front-runner. 95.

2. Carrie. A month ago, I would have said there's no way she won't win the competition. But Paula and Randy hate her, and she keeps coming up with technically brilliant, but unmemorable performances. One of these days, she's going to figure out her style (which isn't straight country) and start giving performances week after week that make the others look bad in comparison. 90.

3. Jessica. All along, I've been liking her more than most people. I don't think she can or should win, and she's kind of strange looking, but she definitely deserves better than bottom three. 89.

4. Constantine. Tonight was the first time I've liked him. Irony in an American Idol performance, who woulda thunk it. It was original, and better than the original. 88.

5. Vonzell. I haven't liked her much so far, but she had a lot of energy tonight and did a pretty good job. Very attractive girl, too. 83.

6. Scott. His best by far. I just don't like the voice. I'm willing to write him off at this point. 74.

7. Anwar. Normally, he comes on strong after a weak opening. I kept waiting this time. It didn't happen. I'm sure he'll rebound. 68.

8. Anthony. I'm getting tired of his schtick. I think he is, too. Going the way of the little red-haired boy from last season, only the field is stronger. 66.

9. Nikko. He needs to come out and do a back-flip to open his performance. It's the same routine every week, and he makes every song sound the same. 59.

10. Nadia. By far her weakest performance. It showed off everything she can't do well. But, still, she's done enough to stay around for a few more weeks. 57.

11. Mikalah. As bad as Nikko and Nadia were, they were miles ahead of Mikalah. At this stage, you can't have a performance that lousy and expect to stick around. I've completely forgotten her last decent performance - I know there was a week a while back where I thought she had a chance of being in the final four. But now, it's time to go. 22.

Mikalah only earns as high as a 22 when she doesn't actually open her mouth. Tonight was a -22.

The best part is the scores.

I mean, I had Anwar at 72. Jim must be smoking dope.

I'm still recovering from the "Wizard" reference. I have to admit, it takes talent to tie in American Idol to baseball though

I agree with Jim, but I'd probably drop Constantine below Vonzell, Scott and maybe Anwar. I actually thought this was one of Scott's weaker performances in a while. I keep waiting for Constantine to really nail a song, but while he makes it his own song, he never really gets it right. I think if he worked less on preening and more on singing, he'd really nail it (By far his best was the Seal song, it was just brilliant). Nadia was just atrocious this week, and she's falling pretty fast for me. I actually like Vonzelle, she's kind of floozy, pretty cute, and she looks like she has fun and a pretty good voice. I really don't like Anthony, he's a far less talented Clayken without the charisma. I think Jessica is a poor man's (or woman's) Carrie. They sound pretty similar, but Carrie has the better voice, body, and personality, but I think Jessica is consider more country (and less rock) is because she tends to dress a little dirtier. Carrie nees to work on being a little more loose while singing, she jsut stares at the camera in fear, but she seems pretty loose when chatting. Bo is by far the front runner, I don't even think its close. I think if Anwar can pull it together, he could be pretty good, but he seems to miss too many notes. I also get the feeling if he cut his hair, he'd look like a skeezy 40 year old guy. Mikalah gets worse every week.
From tonight.
1. Bo
2. Carrie
3. Vonzelle
4. Jessica
5. Scott
6. Constantine
7. Anwar
8. Nikko
9. Anthony
10. Nadia
138. Mikalah

i don't watch AI, i listen to it while i'm on the PC and my wife watches it in the living room. i like that Carrie chick. she sang that song real good, although the backing singers were pretty stellar.

i like Constantine. not your typical AI clone. i'd like to see him go through.
