Whoa, a major move by BL with 200m to go. She leads now by 3/4 over Delta with Imperatrice and Rose 1 length back. Quick and School are both 2 lengths behind the leader.

100m from the finish line BL holds a slight lead as Imperatrice and Delta are only a neck back. Fourth is Rose at 1/2 length while Quick trails by 1. Favorite is sixth, trailing by 2 lengths.

Sorry for the delays and all, but school started and so I can't do any gaming/write-up/posting stuff during the day anymore, therefore it takes much longer to get stuff done.

Thanks for keeping Almighty Farms alive, and me doing this dynasty.

And now, to the finish...

With just 50m to go, BL stretches her lead to a full length over Rose and Imperatrice. Delta stands fourth, 1 1/2 back. Quick is fifth and Favorite is sixth, 3 lengths behind.

Bit of a scare there with 100m to go as the field pulled close to BL, but she came through like the champion she is to pull away in the stretch. Also gave a sweet payoff on the wager for good measure. Purple just could never get it going while Imperatrice continues to amaze us with the effort and finishes she gets with less talent. Maybe there's some factors at work that are unseen, or perhaps it's the preferences that we have never bothered to figure out (too much training wasted- up to 6 months, if you recall from long ago when it was explained). Sadly, Ursulo continues to give us no reason to keep him around. He could be a great stud for Almighty Farms to sell shares in, but the game has given no information that would make us think that is part of the game.

---> Imperatrice is ranked #3 in the classification of biggest prize winners** in her category.

---> Despite a Derby win from BL, fame remains at 82 and we even drop a spot to 28th in the stable rankings. Go figure.

---> The Triple Crown races continue next week with the Preakness Stakes as there is no week to rest in between to cure form drops. There is another big race this week, so we will put the horses with lower form in that one and give us 2 chances for big wins.

**Remember it changes weekly and the game gives no listing for us to write up, ergo the constant back and forth in rank between whichever horse has a good showing that week.

i dunno.. i'm kinda greedy.. i think we (the constant readers) should keep the thread alive you just take all the time you need to do the write up so you can post it once. Cuz.. man... this waiting was killing me. Especially when BL really started to fall back. I should be struck down for ever thinking that she would stay back there! Anyways.. even with a lower form, i'm looking for a good showing from BL again.

Congratulations on a great win at the Derby! I've spent the last week reading through all three years worth of the Almighty Farms dynasty to get to this point - Ive got great timing! You're doing a great job with this dynasty.

I bought this game shortly after it came out as an import (Horse Racing Manager) because it looked interesting and it was made by Cyanide, a developer from France that also did Cycling Manager. I had tried to play HRM a number of times, but became frustrated with it (a lot of the same issues you have run into and worked through (or around)). I can tell you that their Cycling Manager games are the same way - you see real potential in their games but there just seem to be little things that bring it down.

That's what drew me to this dynasty, so keep up the good work.

Little gets a lot unlucky in the draw for this race as she pulls post position 16, the end of the row, in an extremely competitive race. All the entries are Listed, some with ratings in the 30s, some 40s. Then there are 2 with stats in the 60/70 range and 2 with 80s and even 90 thrown in as well- one of the toughest races we have ever seen for such a low entry interval (none of these horses should have winnings over $10k or so, though that is another thing we have seen not work correctly on occasion).

Gaelic Bad Boy pulls out to a 3 length lead but Jurassic Ciboulet catches him in the back straight and Little has made a great move from far outside to join them at the front of the pack. Little drops back a bit and is fourth with 500m to go as Jurassic and Gaelic lead the way. With 400m left, Jurassic gets the whip and moves to a big lead. Ford hits Little a stern one and she moves into second with 200m more but Jurassic is too good today and wins over Little by 1 length.

Berry pulls about as sure a thing as you can get, we'd say. The race is full of Listed and Level III horses with stats in the 40s and 50s. On top of that, this is a handicapper with Berry the only entry carrying 0kg added weight. All others have from 2-8kg extra.

As is seemingly the case whenever Artisanale runs, the field is not strong. All National level entries, the best have only 60s and 70s for ratings where usually there would be some horse to compare somewhat, it seems, whenever any Almighty Farms horse but Artis is entered. Eventually she will be tested, but it shouldn't be today.

Pelican Quartz moves to the front as Artis gets a bad jump from the gate and settles into third, falling to fifth, 2 lengths back, in the back straight. With 500m to go, Escude gives Artis a shot to the flanks and she makes up the ground to lead but Pelican responds with 400m left and regains first spot. Escude goes back to the rod with 300m left and Pelican follows suit at 250m from the finish. Artis has more acceleration, however, and is able to sustain her charge better as Pelican drops back while Artis wins by 2 1/2.

Favorite has a very favorable post position, as seems more often than not to be the case. Imperatrice is in a decent spot while Ursulo is once again the unlucky Almighty Farms entry, starting well outside.

While Imperatrice leads the way, we see the unusual case of several entries besting our stock. This is a close one, especially with the relatively low form of the Almighty Farms horses due to the lack of any rest from the Derby last week.

With the betting favorite being only the 11th best horse by ratings and Ursulo inexplicably at #2, this seems again to be any horses' race.

These are the favorites in the race based on a simple point system from the bookies and race mags. As mentioned, Toy Delight, the points leader, is only rated 11th in the statistical rankings.

Not much in the wagering as we don't think we will really win with the low form problem.

The Race:

Out of the gate Kiwi Dacosta leads from the outside with Venus De Nul Part, Gato and Nepal moving well way outside. Jedi Solitaire stands fifth with Imperatrice sixth. Favorite is tenth and Ursulo thirteenth.

Around the final turn in this short race, Jedi leads Nepal and Kiwi by 1/2 length with Song Race back 1, Favorite down 1 1/2 and Regal Princess in sixth, 2 lengths off the pace. Imperatrice is tenth and Ursulo is eighteenth and last.

With 500m left in the race, Jedi now up by 1 on Kiwi and Song while Favorite is fourth, Nepal fifth and Saga Patrick sixth. Imperatrice is eleventh and Ursulo seventeenth.

Passing the 400m pole in first is Nepal by 2 lengths over Jedi and Kiwi, Regal and Favorite 2 1/2 back and Song in sixth trailing by 3. Imperatrice stands tenth while Ursulo is dead last.

300m to the line, Nepal leads Regal by 1 3/4. Kiwi is third and Favorite fourth, 2 1/2 out. Jedi trails by 3 as does a hard charging Imperatrice, up from tenth.

Down to 200m to go. Nepal with a commanding 3 length lead on Regal with Favorite 3 1/2 back in third. Kiwi trails by 4 and Imperatrice is up to fifth, 4 1/2 lengths back.

100m from the finish line Nepal still in control, up 2 on Regal. Favorite is third and Imperatrice moves to fourth with Kiwi, 3 1/2 back.

At the wire, Nepal wins the race with ease, Regal ending in second but 3 lengths behind. Favorite takes third and Imperatrice is fourth, 4 lengths behind the winner.

That kinda sucked. We were really expecting more from Imperatrice but she got such a bad start in a short race and, while making a valiant effort, was just not in good enough shape to make a charge. Ursulo finishing last was not what we had in mind. All in all, a very poor effort from Almighty Farms.

It appears (and I remember this from when I played this game) that form is a very important factor in winning a race. While the skills of the AF horses are typically superior to the others, form is sometimes a problem (due to the number of races you run). If your horses still finish in the money though. . .

I know I should be pleased with 2 in the money, scooter, but in the beginning, when Almighty Farms horses were Listed or Level III, we seemed to win pretty much every race and I am still spoiled from that, so 3rd or fourth is a bit of a letdown. Especially now, when the write-ups take so long with all the extra stuff that's included (compared to when I started doing them), the number of races I actually run per week (real time) is way down and so each race seems to be a bigger deal towards the goal of being ranked as the #1 stable in the game... a goal it seems we are going backwards on.

Overall, we'd say this is a very good draw for post positions. #2 and #3 are usually quite good for staying clear of traffic, assuming no horrible problems on the start. Gate #7 is problematical. BL could be in trouble out of the box, even with a good start, due to the way the game slides horses towards the rail whenever an open space of a length or more occurs. On the other hand, at least she isn't out in the boonies.

We do see another shitty example of the games very small name file as there is another entry named Feline in the race, which we have dubbed Feline(fake), as well as two horses of the de Marine variety.

It looks like it's Almighty Farms, then the rest of the field in terms of statistical advantage. Of course, International Level stats analysis isn't like those at lower levels. All of these horses have good ratings, with only the lowest rated being at high 70s and most high 80s (in general). However, ours are definitely the top of the line.

And it appears we shouldn't be bothered too much by any Feline(fake) and Feline confusion, as the fake is the statistical dog in the race.

Purple Tearse is the favorite with a perfect Almighty Scale score of 30, as well as being the odds favorite, and by a huge margin. It's kinda hard to root against one of our own, but obviously BL would be the sentimental favorite and the only Triple Crown possibility after last week.

Well, unlike you, I don't think any of your readers has any trouble rooting against anyone not named Beautiful Ladonia....Go BL!! Although I am sure we all wish Purple Tearse and Feline to do well.
