Condors assessment is right on.

Hunter will try for an early KO, then work the body while resting for quite a few rounds. There is no way to outpoint this guy...so it's KO or lose.

Blade is our best shot at a win, but he will be going up against a fighter that Les already beat, and the opponent will undoubtedly try to change up tactics to beat what Les did. If we can make it through the early rounds we should be ok. easier said then done

Les' opponent is extremely tough. If his condition is 17, we're screwed. I can't inflict enough damage without taking too much to win, and if I try to dance the damage inflicted by the opponent wears us out too fast.

Early KO sounds good to me

Well, as long as Hunter isn't the one smelling the salts that is, clarification is a good thing.

Larry Merchant, "This was a big win for Les, he really took the fight to Boots. Did the way this fight unfolded suprise you at all?"

Joe, "To be honest yes. We knew Boots was particulally strong, but we did think he was better conditioned than he showed. Les wore him out in the 4th round. That's extremely fast. Moreover, Les took a lot of big shots in the process and it didn't seem to faze him. I am very pleased with his performance tonight."

Max Kellerman, "Joe, why did you..."

interupting Joe says, "Have Jace come out throwing so many big punches. You guys are analysts you should be able to figure this out. The match up wasn't good for Jace. Klitscho is much more capable of going deep into fights. We felt our best shot was to try and end it early and hope he would start slow."

"Hey it was entertaining for the 2 minutes and 45 seconds. I don't think a single fan sat down the entire time."

....From back stage Mac's voice is heard..."Joe...we got anything stronger than these smelling salts?"

Joe, "Um...got to go....Mac needs some help."

as he's walking off stage Joe yells, "Shove one of them up each of his nostrals. Then step back and wait."

Baked Beans' chances don't look good.

The hot streak for Baked Beans looks to be coming to an end. The match up for his upcoming fight is a very difficult one.

Larry Merchant, "Beans' is going against a slugger who is better conditioned and who takes a punch well. I think Beans could win by dancing, but he could get KOed with that style too."

Rumors out of the FOFC Gym are that Beans is going into the fight hoping to inflict a lot of damage and nothing more. Appearently, he's more interested in punishing his opponent and hopefully shortening his career. If the rumors are accurate Beans will probably lose by a huge margin on cards, but may have the last laugh by having the longer career.

Post Fight Interview - Joe Bagadonuts

Larry Merchant, "This fight was very strange, not much action in it. Why didn't Beans work harder especially late in the fight?"

Joe, "Late in the fight we thought we had it won, so Beans was protecting his lead. Early we went into it trying to beat up Boy, we were actually expecting him to have the early lead. In previous fights he was much more active. The ony thing I can figure is he assumed we were dangerous and he needed to keep his defense up."

I am suprised the conditional stating if decision_won = true then 4/4/12 kicked in. I thought it was too close for that, but appearently not. I'll have to work on a conditional using rounds lost instead. This isn't the first time this has happened to me.

Joe, "This loss was really that bad for Beans. He wasn't hurt at all, so it didn't affect his career and one more loss isn't going to have a dramatic impact on his ranking either. He still has a shot to climb in the rankings with a few good fights in a row."

RockHoya (18-20-2 2/8) vs Pancho O`Kelly (9-5-2 7/3)

Despite the fact that Hoya has a losing record but he is still a dangerous. Hoya has a similar build to Pancho, with good foot speed and above average hand speed. His career has been retarted by poor management. Hoya's trainer is reluctant to change styles during a fight, which puts Hoya at a huge disadvantage.

A disturbing trend for O'Kelly is the fact that Hoya did change his style of attack in his last fight, going from a person who throws 5 power punches, 5 rights and 15 jabs to a true power puncher throwing 9 to 12 power punches. The power of Hoya isn't the scary part, but the fact that the trainer is trying new things is. It is possible that he may implement some changes in strategy that will allow him to adjust to Pancho's attacks. If he does...he becomes infinately more dangerous.

A Quick Note: FOFC Gym has now topped $1 million in earnings.

Post Fight Interview - Joe Bagadonuts

Sugar Ray, "Pancho is back in the win column, you happy?"

Joe, "Relieved is more accurate. This is a fight we should have won...and we did, so I'm relieved."

Max Kellerman, "Did he do anything you weren't expecting."

Joe, "He made a few slight adjustments to his fight plan. For instance in round 1 he had more punches than he usually throws. We planned for that occurance so it didn't affect us too much. It might have if he had upped his work level from there, but that was pretty much as hard as he worked the entire fight."

The record is a little misleading because I've had a few fighters that I continued to let fight because they were ranked in the same general area as your fighters, so I figured I would get an idea about possible opponents. However, I didn't try hard to develop fight plans for these fighters. Therefore they lost more frequently than the FOFC fighters did. Realizing that does affect our numbers...I though I would post our record against other gyms.

Boxing Announcement

SuperWelterweight Contender Diego "La EME" Corrales 14-2-0 (8/1) Ranked #3 has announced his retirement. The boxing community is stunned as this fighter appeared to be headed for a belt.

Larry Merchant, "Corrales was a tough fighter. He won a lot of fights, but took a lot of shots doing it. I think the punishment caught up with him, and I wouldn't be suprised to learn there are medical reasons behind this decision."

Corrales beat Pancho O'Kelly weeks ago, in a pretty close fight.

It's rematch city tonight

Jimmy "Hurricane" Saunders (10-4-1 6/1)
vs Frank "the Hammer" Johanson (24-22-0 18/17) III

This is the 3rd time these two fighters have met. In the first meeting Saunders KO Johanson in the 10th round after holding approximately a 3 round lead going into the 10th. In the second fight Saunders won with a 9th round KO while leading on the cards by 3 rounds.

I hate rematches, especially when we've dominated an opponent, because I'm always afraid that the manager is going to take it personally and work hard to find a flaw in my fight plan. However, Toughguys Gym has not tried to alter Johanson's strategy much, and he really isn't set up to do much more than clinch. Johanson has 22 losses and 17 by KO. I look for it to be 18 KO losses after tonight. Maybe we can beat on him enough to finally force a retirement.

Brian "The Butcher" Babson (10-1-0 4/0)
vs Long Haul Lou (18-8-1 4/2) II

In the first meeting Lou won a 115:114, 115:113, and 114:114 decision. This was Butchers loan loss, and we are looking for a little payback. This time Lou is coming in ranked 14 while Butcher holds the ranking of 13.

A win here would be huge. Unfortunately, I don't think a win will permanently help Butchers stats. As you can tell by Lou's small number of KO wins and even smaller number of KO losses his conditioning is outstanding, and that can be difficult to overcome. He is capable of throwing a lot of punches, taking a lot of punches and doing it for 12 rounds. I expect this to be pretty close on the cards, but Butchers new fight plan has an increased level of activity late in the fight (which is where we lost it last time), so hopefully the outcome will be in our favor this time around.

Butcher: I'm on record saying those judges ripped me off last time. After all the contributions Joe makes to...er, improving the judicial system, you'd think they would've recognized that and realized I beat Lou. You can bet I'm going to find those guys before this fight and make sure we're on the same page.

EDIT: Wow- I posted a hattrick note in the completely wrong thread. This was supposed to be some comment about how I'm hoping Frank can keep supplying Hurricane with stats and rematches without changing up his style.

Post Fight Interview - Joe Bagadonuts

Charlie Stiener, "This fight sure did look familier."

Joe, "Very similar to the last two. This time Johanson scared me by knocking Hurricane down, but in the end it was the same result."

Kellerman, "Did Johanson do anything different this time around?"

Joe, "Not that I really noticed."

Kellerman, "Do you think you'll have to fight him again?"

Joe, "I don't know. I would hope he would retire, but if we fight him again, hopefully he'll make us a better fighter and make our record look better."

SI - we did help our stats with this win. Hurricane gained a point to KO power

Awesome- I was a bit worried. I was just cruising down the report and it looked like you kindof sandbagged early while he tired himself out and then Hurricane took command and it was going to be a nice easy win and then that knockdown, and... well, that was close, but a win's definitely is a win

Charlie Stiener, "Joe, the decision was..."

Joe interupting, "CRAP! Second time against this clown. I'm going to admit we didn't run the fight plan I had intended but we still won the fight and to have 2 judges call it a draw and 1 give it to Lou....YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME."

Stiener, "So I take it your...."

Joe interupting again, "PISSED - yes. I hope we get this guy in our next fight."

JAG, like I did with Pancho a few weeks ago - I grabbed the wrong fight plan. Sorry, the one I worked up was one of my more detailed ones. Thankfully we didn't lose, and I still have the fight plan, which is good because I'd be suprised if we aren't fighting him again next week, and the fight plan is totally opposite of this one.

By the way...I did think we won this fight anyway.

Ah well, that explains it at least. I was like, 'Huh? Didn't we figure out exactly what this guy was doing?" Not bad that the wrong plan was pulled out and got a draw anyway. Heh, probably be fighting him again this upcoming week.

And a fine victory for Hurricane!

Cuts like a Razor "Blade" (11-5-0 10/4) vs Alton Spencer (9-3-0 4/1)

Spencer is a fighter that has won by flashing, and going the distance. He adjusts well to his opponent. His stamina must be good because he only has 1 KO loss and that was to a flasher in his first fight. Obviously he had no idea it was a flasher coming in. It will be difficult to KO Spencer, and Spencer is very good at beating opponents that go allout. Tough match up for Blade.

Les "their" Cherries (11-4-0 10/2) vs Prince Hezekiah (16-9-0 16/9)

Prince is an all or nothing fighter. Everything is by KO and typically the later you get in the fight the better you chances of beating him. Cherries has been pretty good at this in the past, but you never quite know what to expect against fighters like this.

Jace Hunter (10-5-0 10/4) vs Big Lil Lukie (16-11-0 16/11)

Big Lil Lukie's name should sound familier - Blade KOed him last week and Cherries got him 3 weeks ago. Now it's Jace's turn. Unfortunately for Jace, the trainer could have caught on to our tactic by now, and my alter his plan to prevent us from beating him with the same wait for you to wear youself out strategy. We'll know early, if he isn't active in the first few rounds we could be in trouble. He could win a few rounds without working hard and then take it to us when we do open up. Hunter is also not as equipt as the other two fighters for going deep into fights. His conditioning and agility cause him to wear out pretty quickly. Basically what I am saying is It will be much tougher for Hunter to beat Lukie than it was for the other 2 FOFC Heavyweights

PREDICTIONS

Condors and JAG, who are helping me may disagree but this is the way I see it:

Blade loses a decision, but beats on Spencer inflicting quite a bit of damage.

Cherries gets beat on early, nearly gets KOed, but eventually wins late.

Hunter, gets beat on early, both fighters are tired by the 6th, but Hunter wins by KO late (hoping the rest rounds I worked into the plan keep you fit enough to finish him off).

This fight was much easier than I had anticipated. Prince didn't open up much early, allowing us to win rounds, inflict damage and not lower our defense. When we opened up in the 4th it was all over. Prince was already beat up by the 4th and we were ready to roll. Nice win by Cherries, who is up to 38 in the rankings.

Well I'm not particularlly surprised by the results, however, I am suprised we weren't able to do more damage. I underestimated Spenser's agility, which must have been extremely high. We were only landing about 20% of our punches. I could have opened up more to try and do more damage, but we still wouldn't have improved our punch percentage much. I might have tried an allout round, but I felt we were better off not taking the damage and prolonging our career.

This was about as expected. I was happy to see Hunter maintain his conditioning as well as he did. The built in rest rounds helped considerably. I wasn't concerned with the ref taking away points because there was no way this fight was going to get to the cards anyway. Nice win for Hunter.

Bobby "Baked" Beans 9-7-0 (9/2) vs Payback Perry (5-3-0 2/1)

This is a rematch, last time these two fighters faced off, Beans lost when we was caught by Perry's straight right in a round that he was opening up looking for a KO. It may have been a careless play on Bean's part. At the time the fight was close on the cards, but there was alot of fighting left. It will be interested to see how Bean's comes out this time.

Last time Beans tried to get an early lead by jabbing, but was unable to. After this loss, Beans adopted more of a slugger style which has suited him well. Perry is a well conditioned fighters who has only been dropped one time, so slugging him into submission will be though.

Holy early storm Batman. Sorry about Blade though, seems whenever I've lost one, he's gotta let me catch up in the wins category the next set of bouts. Hopefully we can start a little tour de force now.
