And come on. It's $17.06 a week to get the Ticket. I'd have to ask my wife, but normally returning customers get a discount. Last year we got the SuperFan package for free. Again, I'd have to ask my wife but I'd guess that we could get that for free as well. The Sunday Ticket way back when is not the same Sunday Ticket that you get today. The Red Zone Channel, Short Cuts, etc. make the price increases worth it. |

I don't know which was better today. The Steelers winning how they did or seeing the Bengals losing how they did.

I bashed the Bears the entire offseason and now look at them. Forte looks good and Indy's offense got stalled in the redzone twice.

So is anyone actually watching the Colts-Bears game? The AFC powers not looking so dominant coming out of the gates.

Jeff Garcia looks 60 now. Seriously. I just watched the post game press conference and he looks older than my dad, who is 60.
I guess being 6-0 190 and taking QB hits for years is a rough way to live life. |

That's definitely overdoing it. The NFL season, as always, will be the most entertaining North American sports league season. Brady ain't that important. In fact, the Pats season just got about a billion times more interesting. The passion, both insanely positive and venomously negative about this franchise is amazing. it's exhausting. I've been a fan since Zeke Mowatt showed Lisa Olson his wang. Maybe it will be nice to have an NFL season without them on the forefront. Last edited by molson : 09-07-2008 at 09:24 PM. |

Dude. The Steelers did what they did against the Texans. The TEXANS. Do NOT get too hyped about it. Tune in next week before setting hopes/dreams/expectations. I live in the armpit of Texas and get an upclose look at this joke of a team. Its not worth getting worked up about. They could have dropped 100 on them and I don't think I'd have been too amazed by it.

Well Redman could play this year for starters. Second, there were guys available later on who were rated only slightly lower than Ryan (Flacco, Henne, Brohm). Lastly and most importantly, there are many, many QBs taken high in the draft who failed, not so for DTs. Because of the amount of $$$ top picks are paid, you have to be risk averse there and the Falcons weren't. The face of the franchise thing is BS. Win games and you'll sell jerseys. Lose and no one will care. I hope Ryan is the best Falcon ever, but it was still the wrong pick. |

I sorta hope the Pats have a 12-4 season and Cassell leads the league in throwing yards and TDs.

Man, am I actually going to have to face the idea that the Bears may be good this season? Unfortunately, it looks like this is the case
Also, that's a terrible break for Pats fans. I always liked Cassell when he was at USC (saw some interviews with him out here in Pac-10 land). Hopefully, he does OK. |

The Bears all but crush the Indianapolis Colts in the season opener, probably one of the largest upsets this Sunday, and there's nary a mention here?
Forte looks like a beast so far, lets hope he keeps it up. I really like him.

I'm setting myself up to get called a douchebag by everyone here, but /shrug, here goes.
Injuries are part of football. Teams that suffer the most injuries struggle a lot, teams that suffer injuries to key players struggle like hell to overcome. There's a difference to me between rooting for a specific individual human to experience suffering, and being happy that a team you dislike has to deal with an injury. For a few years, every time Carolina and Atlanta played, I wanted to see Julius Peppers knock Michael Vick out. I rooted heavily against Vick, didn't like that Carolina struggled against Atlanta, and hated that Vick scrambled and ran wild and would have been genuinely pleased had my team been the one to catch up to him and lay a (legal) legit hit on Vick that simply took him out for awhile. Also, the notion of wanting to beat a team at their best is horseshit to me. I want my team to win, and I want teams that I dislike to lose. Carolina has had ridiculous QB/RB injury issues the last few seasons, but its no excuse for losing to me. They faced adversity, and failed to rise above it. A win is a win, a title is a title, and that's all that matters. Molson mentioned something earlier about whether, if you had the ability/choice, would you personally cause injury to Brady(or anyone). No, i wouldn't, not at all. But since injuries are part of the game, I hope teams I dislike suffer more injuries than teams I like. For various reasons, I root against the Patriots, therefore, to me its a good thing to see them facing more adversity than any other team at a key position right now. I'm not specifically glad Tom Brady is hurt, but I'm glad the Patriots have to deal with losing a key player because that makes it more difficult for them to win. I don't see why this attitude is considered douchebaggery by anyone, honestly. |

You all realize Tom Brady wouldn't have been hurt if Sammy Morris hadn't hogtied Pollard on the blitz.. basically forcing him to the ground as he was nearing brady
I was wondering where the holding flag was.. i'm betting pollard gets fined instead.. |

With the Bengals playing that badly, I am looking over the schedule and I see about 3 wins. That's 3, if Carson & Co. can't get it together... and I don't see why they can. Even if they can, it's probably like 6-10. Ugh. Horrible opening.

There are not a long list of DTs that have busted? Ill give you that generally a bust DT/DE picked early can have a long average spot play career, where as a bust QB usually is out of the league - but lets not say that there is not a very long list of bust DT/DE taken early. |

Maybe it's my flying elvis tinted glasses, but I personally think that if there's a team that could lose a Tom Brady and still succeed, it's the Pats.

I don't buy it right now. I won't write them off like I would have before, but that wasn't a full strength Colts team. Manning hasn't done anything up until this game, Addai and Clark leave the game, Harrison hasn't player since last year. And the most important, C Jeff Saturday. You lose Saturday against an experienced D like Chicago and replace him with a rookie, that is a bad thing....

Yep, I think people forget about a lot of the high draft pick DT busts there have been. Then again, it isn't as obvious as when a QB pick busts.
