Ruling on the field: Incomplete pass.....wtf?

Around the 2:00 mark on this video

http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d8029b7eb

*This one bad call was the MAIN reason the niners lost. Nothing to do with the fact that Gore went for 2.8ypc, or their team gave up over 200 rushing yards.

The front of the ball hit the ground when the receiver did. It's incomplete as the receiver has to control the ball when he hits the ground since he had not extablished a "football move" yet to make it complete.

And I find it hard to believe that you don't find the Bears to be "somebody". 34 points is the most they've given up in over a season...since week 17 of the 2005 season, to be exact.

I didn't see any of this game, but I certainly heard about DeAngelo Hall's meltdown against Steve Smith that might have cost the Falcons a win today.

http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm

Could this be true? I would imagine there were some angry Falcons, but to give a top talent on your own team a beatdown sounds unusual in this day and age. Especially when Lou Piniella isn't part of your team.

It'll be interesting how things work out once Byron Leftwich has learned some of the playbook. Joey Harrington played well today, but he's made a career out of teasing people into believing he's a competent quarterback.

I have no idea about this, but

is just ridiculous. I don't know what intern PFT is allowing to post on the web, but insinuating that D'Angelo going to VT w/Vick as being the cause of any problems is ridiculous.

Rivers takes some real bad sacks (the run straight backwards and lose 10 yard s types) and overthrew a lot of open receivers today. If you're not mobile/elusive and you don't have a strong arm, you'd better be deadly accurate and smart. I don't think rivers is.

Interesting week of fantasy for me, having lost 165-74.
Yahoo projected was a 100-97 win for me.
I don't believe anyone has ever hung a number that big against me before.
And I hope I never see anyone do it again.

I'm not sure that the intern said anything that isn't becoming an increasingly held opinion, although I don't believe it's as much about Vick as it is about VT.

i'm up 14pts on my FF opponent. they have Drew Brees going tonight and I have Rob Bironas left to counter. Given Brees' first two weeks (and the fact that Bironas is money for 5+ pts a game, likely more given the Saints D) is it wrong that I'm feeling pretty good?

Yeah. I'd say there's a good chance he bounces back. Depends on how much QB TD passes count for though. If it's only 4, then, yeah, I think you'll be okay.

So Pats look real good. 16-0 a definite possibility. It is amazing that Brady has only had 18 incomplete passess ALL season as much as he has thrown.Nice stats 10 TD and 1 Int and 8-% completion pct. BTW what is the season record for completion pct?
Theer are definitely teams that could derail this train like the Colts, Steelers etc. But, if the Pats get home field they are going to be real tough to beat in December in the cold. Now as far as the NFC it could be interesting if Favre and the Pack is for real. Seahawks and Bears (with Grossman minus Cedric) are not that strong. Eagles and Cowboys look good but I am not sold on either being consistent and certainly not matches for the Pats. This could be a real runaway season this year I fear.

Favre and the Pack is for real! What more do you want from them? They've defeated the Eagles and Chargers already. I didn't think they'd win either of those two games. Now they go to Minnesota where Favre will have to pass, pass, and pass again. I think they can win that one. Anyway, their next three games are at Minnesota, Chicago at home, Washington at home. If they're 5-1 or better after that stretch then maybe people will declare them for real. The lack of running game does trouble me though.

I think I have the worst luck in fantasy football. I've scored 100 points in 2 of the 3 weeks and 270 overall so far and I'm 0-3. Next week I play the team that has only scored 150 points in 3 weeks so I anticipate that he'll put in a team of scrubs and miraculously beat me 110-105.

Yeah, they did beat the Chargers but I don't how much that counts for anymore. I will be a believer in the Pack if they can hold it together through 10 games.

If you lose points in your league for fumbles, and you have the ability to, bench him. An early fumble and Tenn deciding to go with Brown the rest of the way isn't impossible.

With how the Red Sox are doing right now, why do you have to try to extend the curse to the Pats. Just enjoy the games and do not speak anymore praise until after the Pats win the Super Bowl. Oh wait, until the Pats get to the Super Bowl. Oh damn, I mean until the Pats go undefeated and the season ends. Oh crap, I mean do not say anything else until the season ends and you purchase the 2008 Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots DVD.

They had a replay of that from the sideline today and it turns out it was the right call after all. You couldn't see it pop out from the angle they kept showing on the game but from the other side, it was really obvious it came out and hit the ground. So I was wrong yesterday.

Nice throw and run for a TD. Titans up 10-0 early in the 2nd quarter over the Saints.

Titans should be up 20-0 or 28-0. This teams fatal weakness has been not being able to get touchdowns only FGs. This has been their problem since Bum Phillips
