My fiancee is a huge Star Wars fan and a gamer(she dragged me kicking and screaming off my PC to a console). We currently play a ton of Destiny together online, this will likely be a day 1 purchase and played similarly.
Really any PS4 game that we can play coop (or XB:One with local coop) is a day 1 purchase. Not enough of them, so it's great when there's a new option out there. What looks to be a fantastic Star Wars setting is icing on the cake. Last edited by jeff061 : 10-21-2015 at 10:36 AM. |

I guess I'm the type of gamer that has the Call of Duty people bothering with a single player campaign. I really enjoyed playing through the 3 Modern Warfare games and have gone through them several times. I've played through Black Ops 1 and 2 a few times as well.

Having looked at the games available and decided that we are not getting an XBOX 1 or PS4 this Christmas (our youngest is 4, and there seem to be too few games that would interest him), we were considering a Wii U (we have a Wii).
But, I am assuming that the smart play is to wait with all of the NX rumors out there and just what the lay of the land will be in the few months after Christmas. Am I right about that? |

Wife got me an Xbox One (Halo 5/1TB).
Though it doesn't seem to work very well with my wireless. Been trying to download Halo 5 since yesterday and am at 62%. Disappointed right now as I only have that to play.

Do you have your console in a cabinet? WiFi gets affected if it has to go through wood. If you can, try the console in a couple of places to see if you are in a dead spot. Checking the WiFi signal on a cell phone placed next to the console can be a good way to measure signal strength.

Makes sense that Microsoft would eventually make up ground. People who had an itch for a new console scratched when the PS4 launched are probably now out looking at the Xbox One and its exclusives.

The new Xbox One interface update is pretty nice. I haven't had a chance to try out backwards compatibility yet, but I do have a few of the games that are on the list.

Really disappointed in the Xbox One. I have to create an online account with valid email for my eight-year old to play it? The Xbox 360 allowed you to create offline profiles. Looks like I'll just go back to buying everything except exclusives for the PS4.
Which is a shame, as I actually like the Xbox One better.

Think I'll probably grab this deal. It's about time they offered a subscription in line with Netflix/Amazon models. This is a ton of games for $8/month for a year. Really reduces the need for me to bother with keeping the PS3 hooked up too.

I have it, I've played it some and it's fun. Problem I have is pretty much all non primary gun abilities (grenades, special weapons, etc) are purchased and loaded as "Cards". These cards have a refresh time before use that has nothing to do with your deaths.
This means every 10-15 seconds you get a new grenade, no ammo capacity just the wait for refresh, all the refresh times are just way to short. I like the concept in Destiny, but in Destiny the duration is an order of magnitude longer. Battlefront feels a little... "syrup-y" to me for lack of a better word and I'm certainly no hardcore COD player. Spent some time with Titanfall and Destiny, that's pretty much it for me with online shooters these days. Still, it's fun. |

PS4 back on top after a one month hiatus. Shocked at how poorly the Tomb Raider game did. Really would have been better to release it elsewhere in the release calendar.
