This is what got me most excited from the conference. It is just a teaser reveal, but the fact that it's a follow up to one of the best games from the previous generation of consoles and has what's basically a dream team group of developers makes it my most anticipated game.

Yeah, it's actually selling pretty well over in Japan, though the console sales overall are still pretty dismal in that country. North America and Europe have become the money makers in regards to consoles.

Valve wasn't at E3 and didn't there hasn't been any news on Left 4 Dead 3 since some developer slides about making the game in Valve's new Source 2 engine surfaced about a year and a half ago.

The only real positive news is Valve is finally releasing Source 2 with an upgraded version of Dota 2 so the engine is probably ready for a L4D3 release but Valve still works on Valve time. There's also the chance Valve looks to release something around the time their controller comes out this fall, though that's nothing more than speculation.

I just saw this. I hope going forward (although this article doesn't seem to touch on it) is that Nintendo realizes you can't name the successor to the Wii the Wii U and the successor to the 3DS the 3DS and hope that they take off. You end up confusing your target base....whom a substantial number of Nintendo's base are non-gaming parents and grandparents who are trying to buy a system for their children.

Maybe that is what they were going for, but I would put money that a number of Nintendo customers still don't know to this day that the Wii U is a full on sequel system to the Wii like the PS4 was to the PS3 and that their is a new 3DS on the market simply called the 3DS and that older 3DS systems are not able to play the games made specifically for the new 3DS.

Not being a decade behind on network features would help a bit as well.

Wait, what? I consider myself reasonably knowledgeable about gaming. I've had like half of the systems that have ever existed, dating back to original Pong with the paddles. I owned a Wii and currently own a Wii U. I still have a GBA. And yet... I had no idea there is some kind of 'new' 3DS and that older versions don't play the newer games. That is some asinine shit.

Not only is there a 'new' 3DS, it's called... "New Nintendo 3DS."

Nintendo took all the wrong lessons from the criticism leveled at the Wii U name.

I didn't really see anything strange there. He stated the decision would disappoint some fans, but went on to gush over working with Microsoft.

He did what he could. All the teeth-gnashing about any level of exclusivity seems a bit crazy at this point given that it's coming to the PS4 relatively soon anyway and honestly, the game didn't exactly blow people away at E3. It's going to get compared to Uncharted 4 even though they're on difference consoles. Can't imagine that's going to end well for Tomb Raider. It's not a fair fight and Square has to know that.

Isn't it coming to PS4 a year later? I suppose it will maybe drop with its DLC but that seems like an eternity in video game terms. As a consumer I really don't like these timed exclusives, unless the money is so good that I get a much better product out of it.

From what we've seen of Tomb Raider, I can't see that many people interested in paying $60 for it on release. I'm perfectly fine with it coming out in a year and paying $20-30 for a GOTY edition that seems much more palatable.

No Man's Sky looks cool, but watching that video I'd think it would get old fast. Unless there is a lot of tasks/goals/gameplay they aren't demonstrating, I don't see myself buying it until it's under $20.

I played Uncharted on ps3 a long time ago and didn't like it at all. I know I'm in the minority.. but it didn't really do much for me. Tomb Raider I liked much more.

I hear that Tomb Raider is one of the PS+ games of the month for August. That's too bad, that obviously won't get any customers to convert to Playstation this month. You think they would try harder than that.

Goodness. No talk about the X1 conference this morning? Lots of announcements. Quantum Break and Scalebound looked good. Halo 5 seemed like FPS for people with ADHD.

Really annoyed that MS is moving Xbox Live to PC. We need less intrusiveness, not more.

Haven't read this yet. Does this mean they are going to try to compete with Steam? If so I look forward to another service I will never download and more exclusives that I will never buy.

It is part of their move that allows you to stream games and content from your Xbox One to your Windows 10 PC. I tried it last night, and it worked really well.

Really question the pricing of the new X1 Halo 5 bundle. $499 isn't going to cut it when you have standard models going with games for $349. Microsoft has obviously not learned from the lessons of the past.

And I'm guessing that most that are interested that don't have a console yet will opt for a model without the frills and purchase the game separately.
