It was widely reported that Cable got the ok from Davis to pull JaMarcus. Why would that get him fired now?

No shit, what's going to stop him from making the best moves of his life, his ligaments? I think not....

Zach Thomas, another Texas Tech guy, is available. Surely a week is enough for him to get the basics of receiving down?

I think Marvin would turn the gun on himself before signing with the Patriots.

But then again, after Wade Boggs, Roger Clemens, and Johnny Damon, anything is possible...

I like it. Nice revenge angle for if/when they play the Colts.

With the news on Monday morning that the Washington Redskins have officially let head coach Jim Zorn go, the chatter is picking up that the official hire of Mike Shanahan as his replacement won't be far behind. As we know, the resignation of Vinny Cerrato weeks ago led to the hiring of Bruce Allen within 24 hours.

In a sign that perhaps the wheels are already fast in motion for Shanahan to be hired, ESPN.com's Bill Williamson emailed in with word from a Texans team source that Kubiak bid farewell to Kyle in front of the staff on Monday, and said that Kyle will be going wherever his father goes.

Update (3:22pm): Dan Hellie (NBC 4 sports anchor) has tweeted: "Shanahan has arrived. Just hopped into snyders maybach. Looks rested and ready. He had no comment."

Big things could be expected soon.

I really hope Shanahan doesn't go to the Redskins. I enjoy not liking any team in the NFC East.

Who needs ligaments? Did Curt Schilling need them during the World Series? I say, sit Welker for the Wild Card game and then play him in the Divisional round.

I can't see Shannahan going to the Redskins. He learned that lesson with the Raiders already. He's probably using it as leverage somewhere else.
