3.11 - Clark Gillies (Power Forward) - Islanders, Sabres

The prototypical power forward. Playing alongside two guys already selected in this draft, Gillies notched at least 31 goals in 4 straight seasons. He was a goal-scorer, a solid skater, and an enforcer. Won 4 Cups with the Isles and is in the Hall of Fame.

BTW, Logan, my posts were just a little confused because bsak sent me a message asking me to pick. So I said I'd have them in half an hour, but then I noticed that it wasn't even my turn. So it's bsak's fault, not mine!

OK, I don't have much time to actually post about my picks, so I'll just name them:

3.12 - Mats Sundin (Captain) - Quebec, Toronto

4.1 - Rob Ray (Enforcer) - Buffalo, Ottawa

4.2 - Brett Hull (sniper) - Calgary, St. Louis, Dallas, Detroit, Phoenix

Five teams is tough, but he is one of the greats. 741 goals, including a three season stretch of 72, 86, and 70. And he has the distinction of coming directly from the testicles of a guy already selected in this draft.

4.3 - Sidney Crosby (playmaker) - Pittsburgh Penguins

He was the first pick of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft and one of the leading scorers during the 2005-06 NHL season, finishing 6th in scoring with 102 points (39 goals, 63 assists). By capturing his first Art Ross Trophy with 120 points (36 goals, 84 assists) in the 2006-07 NHL season, he became the youngest player and the only teenager ever to win a scoring title in any major North American sports league. That same season, Crosby also became just the seventh player in NHL history to win the Hart Trophy, Art Ross Trophy, and Lester B. Pearson Award in the same season—thus earning all three highest individual honours for an NHL forward in only his second year as a professional hockey player.

4.4 Bob Probert- Enforcer- Detroit, Chicago

The guy was an absolute fearless beast. 3300 career penalty minutes. 283 fights in 16 seasons and a record of 157-50-59. Hi fights with Tie Domi are the things of legands. Plus he only played for 2 teams, very rare for a thug.

You don't have to win fights to be an Enforcer.

No! I was hoping good, ole Uncle Probie would last at least another round or two.

Great pick. Very questionable categorization.

Hey, Niedermayer was drafted by the Leafs? And traded for Tom Curvers? Who's Tom Curvers?

I think Tom Curvers invented the illegal hockey stick.

I can't wait until this is over and we can start discussing things bit more. I've seen some pretty curious picks (from my viewpoint) that I'd be intersted in hearing the reasoning behind (unless its a simple "I forgot about that guy!", which is no fun).

Most of my picks are either "I forgot about that guy!" or "Leave me alone, I'm from Louisiana!"

So power forwards don't need power now? I'd put Iginla as offensive D.

I think many times the answer will be "taking the other guy would've messed up what I had planned for other picks because of the team elimination part."
