Any chance for FG shenanigans when it really counts?

Wow, I just looked at the box score for that one. Irish win with just 140 yds total offense thanks to SEVEN UCLA turnovers, including a pair of TD's less than two minutes late in the 3rd quarter.

Mizzou drubbing Nebraska, kindof as was expected. They're definitely the favorite in the north. They have a schedule that plays out quite favorably and have one heck of an offense. Tho it looks like their defense really showed up today, too.

I just don't see Florida being able to do anything... not with LSU's defense this drive and like 20 seconds left.

Guess it's about time to go back to the MLB playoffs .

If Tebow finds a way to pull this out, it'll put him right back on top of the Heisman race.

Great games again today.

I count five more top twelve teams that lost this week (Southern Cal, Kentucky, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Florida). That is a total of 10 (Florida lost twice while in the top 12) top 12 teams losing in the past two weeks.

Wow, very interesting stuff here this week.

What are the chances of LSU running the table now? do they have nayone left on their schedule that could challenge them?

Plus they'll likely have the SEC championship game.

LSU will be favored in every game from here on out, but did anyone look at the schedule and say that USC would slip up against Stanford or Oklahoma would lose at Colorado?

That's not an easy schedule, I don't think. @ Alabama will be tough, and Auburn is also a good team.

That is not an easy schedule by any means.... If they avoid the let-down game along the way they should win out though. I just don't see any of those teams making the big stand against this LSU squad.

It will be interesting to see if Florida can bounce back and make the SEC Championship.

They may be better off, for BCS qualifying purposes, to not play (and potentially lose again to LSU) in the SEC Championship game.

Right now at 3-1 in conference play South Carolina is the frontrunner to play LSU in the title game. Tennessee and Kentucky are the other SEC East teams with one loss. Florida, Georgia, and Vandy have 2 losses. There's a long way to go, but that Florida at South Carolina game on Nov. 10 could be for the SEC East.

Auburn and the SECCG are going to be the toughest games for LSU I think.

Alabama struggled at home against Houston today, Bama just isn't that good this year, and both teams will have the bye week before that game. Should be able to outwork Kentucky easily enough... Auburn LSU is almost always a war though.

ND scores looked like this:

4 plays, -1 yards FG
13 plays, 29 yards FG
3 plays, 2 yards, TD
defensive TD

Yeah, that UCLA defense sure fell apart. A top defense should NEVER allow a team a 3 play, 2 yard TD drive. Clearly the defenses fault there.

Their backup QB got knocked out of the game early on, as his knee was twisted awkwardly in a sack.

The backup backup is a walk-on. They have another guy redshirting, and Dorrell was not willing to burn the redshirt (and who knows how much difference it would have made anyway).

So ND basically dared the QB to beat them, and he made a few good plays and a lot more bad ones. There was an INT that should have been a pick-six, except that ND CB Ambrose Wooden tripped Maurice Crum while the latter was running it back. Oops.

ummm. . .

USC might also have to turn to a backup quarterback. Booty cracked the middle finger on his throwing hand when he hit it on a helmet in the second quarter.
"He fought through it and was doing all right," Carroll said. "We could have made a change but we went with our guy. I don't know about next week."

Wow. Sorry, if your starting QB has a cracked middle finger AND he's busy tossing INT's, it might be time to NOT stick with your guy. Geez, Pete. . .

ND is the more talented rival, but UCLA is the most hated.

Obviously tonight sucked. At least we still have a shot at the national title. UCLA looks like they are about to enter into free fall.

But we got done in by an awful string of injuries to the most critical position in the game--and one where we weren't particularly deep to begin with. And if you can believe it, we're still on top of the Pac 10. We can still actually win out in conference and get to a BSC bowl. How stupid is that, huh? We certainly don't deserve to be there.

All that said, it's time for Guerrero to drag Dorrell into his office and tell him it's either a simpler offense college players can run or he's gone. A complicated West Coast offense is not the sort of offense you run with a bunch of kids who are only there at most five years.

Rough game for UCLA. If I'm not mistaken, hadn't Olson's replacement only thrown, like, two college passes in his life?

The defense was great, but the offense died after Olson went out.

Hopefully he's okay, but I can't shed any tears over ND winning tonight - I had a bet with my dad that Notre Dame would win at least one game this year, and they won the very first game after we made that bet. Those dried strawberries are gonna be delicious.

I'm not sure he has even thrown two actually. In fact, pretty sure he hasn't/ He's a redshirt freshman walk on, and the only game action he saw before this one was handing off to RBs against Washington two weeks ago when we lost Cowan in the fourth quarter--while Olson was out with a concussion. We just can't keep QBs healthy.
