I think I chose Boise State because of their hideously ugly field.

I hope teams are set as soon as the league gets officially underway. Anything else and it's gonna be a total mess.

Remember me come scheduling time, please. You will have Army listed as your rival in week 15. I have SDSU as mine (I'm Air Force). I need to schedule Army and Navy every season. Perhaps we can have cartman set Navy as my rival in Week 0. Then your schedule will be locked into me in the season opener and Army in the season finale. I will have to schedule Army manually every year.

In addition to the rivals, you can also set permanent games in the database. I have added Kentucky/Indiana, Army/Navy (which for some reason gets left off), Temple-Rutgers, and a few others and haven't had any problems. I haven't tried this with conference foes that play every year (Georgia-Auburn, ie). |

Oh man, I was going to stay out of this, and I hate it that OU is already taken...
Do I take OSU and compete with those Big 12 monsters or do I go small school and jump in Conference USA against Jeeber? I'll take Tulsa and harass UTEP as much as possible. |

Yep. I've seen that permanent games table but forgot about it. We should set Air Force/Army in that one.
Do the games alternate home fields? We should get SkyDog to check that because he can go multiple seasons.

Arizona Wildcats will decimate the Kentucky Wildcats, and then blow past the rest of the Pac 10.

No, the schedule does not alternate every year, at least at this point.

I'll take Mizzou.
I have only fiddled with the demo for a little bit and haven't been over to the Bowl Bound boards at all, but I was wondering how big a hastle is scheduling going to be with like 100 owners? Will this process take like 10 real life weeks or am I missing something? Wouldn't I need to request a Notre Dame Home and Away, get a rejection, request a North Iowa home, get a counter, etc? Plus is the Bill Snyder rule of scheduling going to be to pick all computer opponents instead of real life people to get easier wins? If this has been discussed in this 6 page thread I apoligize. I figured I better lock in a team first before I start really liking the sounds of the league and then get locked out. |

my methods of recruiting will be rather effective. In Kentucky there'll be a scholarship and a whore for every able bodied young man south of the Mason-Dixon.

Re: Scheduling.
I think that the way to go would be this: 1. Do player vs. player scheduling outside of the game and let the commish edit it in. 2. Allow three stages for player vs. computer and computer vs. computer scheduling, and after the third stage, set everything to auto-schedule. Incidentally, I strongly recommend that we wait to get the league started until after a few guinea-pig leagues uncover some issues.

Does that apply to all annual games (conference and rivalry)? Or just games in the permanent games table?

The three Oklahoma schools should play each other every year for some kind of "trophy" going to the one who have the most victories over the other.

question:
at what point do we determine when to start giving out teams to the people on the alternate list? once we get closer to forming the league, once we get a league website, or at some other point in time? cuz i honestly have never even heard of the person who claimed Miami, and haven't seen him post in either of the BBCF threads in a while. we should just award the teams with alternates based on eliteness of the individuals that are claiming the teams. on pure elite terms, i could pretty much have any team i wanted. sorry, sometimes it just be's like that. |

I'd say when the game comes out and its determined who is/isn't buying the game. I imagine a good number of teams will open up due to this. Maybe have a check in thread that's open for a week or so

We should limit the league to the ones with exactly 1,325 posts.

I agree on the check-in thread. Or PM or e-mail to cartman, but the check-in thread could keep a list of who has put the final claim on their team.
