BREAKING NEWS!
Shake-ups continue at Money Motorsports! Recently released Taco Money has been contacted by Sean Williams and both have agreed to terms to re-up once agian...all at Buttercups expense. After a race incident where Johnny Benson was leading the race the lapped car and teammate of Buttercup Jr. wrecked Johnny, causing him to finish 29th and ruined what was gonna be atleast a top 10 finish. Car owner Sean Williams stated that he and JB were both "suprised, and angered" by the move. Williams released Jr. qiuckly to back JB who is obviously the future of this team. Jr. expects to sign with a Bush or ARCA team in the next few days.

Texas Predictions
Here's the picks for the Samsung/Radio Shack 500 from our esteemed panel of racing experts.
- MICHAEL PERSINGER - CHARLOTTE OBSERVER Telle Snow - This is Telle Snow's type of track. She will dominate today's race. - LISA NAPOLI - THATSRACIN.COM Mustafa Henderson - With 9 races left, Mustafa finds himself in 13th in points. If he wants to win a championship this season he has to start winning right now. - DAVID POOLE - CHARLOTTE OBSERVER Kai Collins - For some reason Kai never has been quite up to form this season. Kai should turn it around today though. - RUPEN FOFARIA - RPM.ESPN.COM Taco Money - Taco lost his ride before the Richmond race but now has another ride with the same team this week. Taco has something to prove and he will prove it today. - GEORGE W. BUSH - PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES Rob Zalez - Rob will make it two in a row today. |

Samsung/Radio Shack 500 Results
The day Jeeber D Mack has been waiting for finally came. Finally, after 57 races on the FOFC Winston Cup Series Mack is a winner. He took the lead around lap 40 and never looked back, leading 289 of 334 laps. At the end, Mike Tokunaga gave him a big challenge but Mack was able to hold off the challenge.
The points race remains about the same after title contenders Tokunaga, Phillips, Kang and C. Snow finished 2, 3, 4, and 5. Watch out for rookie Johnny Benson. Despite finishing 29th and 17th in his first two races he has plenty of potential. Last week he led 32 laps before crashing out and this week he was running in the top ten until a caution came out right after he had pitted trapping him 2 laps down. code: Last edited by cmp : 08-04-2003 at 02:11 PM. |

Sweet!!!!
It's about time! And I couldn't be happier that my first win came in my own backyard. The thousands of Texans cheering for me gave me boost I needed to take the checkered flag!

Start in 3rd, end in the 30s... looks like that run I had been working on was just that. I've had awful runs the past couple of races.

This has to be the craziest race in series history. Only 14 cars were able to finish the race. A wreck with 12 laps remaining knocked 15 cars out of the race. Some of the top drivers during the day, Telle Snow, Ren Snow, Kodos N. Kang, John Condor, and Rewbie Newsday were all taken out in the wreck. Other top drivers that had their good days ruined at times during the day were Nick Phillips, Rob Zalez, Mike Tokunaga, Chris Snow, Jeeber D Mack, and Kai Collins.
Sterling Silvers took advantage of the wrecks and led 145 laps to win his first race of the season. Travis Elkin came in 2nd. Both seemed to break the Rupen Curse and Bush Curse along the way. Taco Money came in 3rd, Shane Koremlink was 4th and Eilim Cu'Firinne was the last car on the lead lap in 5th. Anyone else notice how well the old Big Ten racing is doing? We sit at #4, #6, #10, and #14. Nice job, gentlemen. AND, by the way, if Rewbie Newsday's teammate, Rewbie Bluesday, were allowed into the Big X, we'd also have #9. We bad.

Damn, back out of the overall top ten. But I should have expected that. I was second in qualifying...

I have broken the Rupen Fofaria curse!
Now all I need is 10 more consecutive top 5 finishes to get into contention... I swear, we must have switched to a new super durable car. Three pictures- all involving me in an accident yet somehow I still won... SI

Last. Bummer. That will undo all the good finishing second did...and then some.
Hopefully I can turn it around and finish in the top 10 in points. |

Phillips Racing has been rumored to be talking to Buttercup Jr. on taking over for Billy Rudd at the end of the season. Phillips Racing was shocked to hear that Buttercup was released.
"We believe he is a good young driver who could do a lot for a racing team in the future." Nick Phillips is looking to hold on to the points lead and come out with his second Championship. |

Here's the picks for the Pepsi 400 from our esteemed panel of racing experts.

Kool Breeze is appoached by a reporter.
"Breeze, did you hear, Michael Persinger picked you to win the next race?" "Did he see the last race?" "I'm sure he did. It is his job" "And he still picked me?" "Yes." "You sure?" "Am I the reporter or you? You seem to be asking all the questions." "That was a question, wasn't it?" "Nevermind." |

Pepsi 400 Results
Despite the numerous lead changes, today's race was an eventful one. Only one caution flag flew the entire day and all but 4 cars finished on the lead lap.
Jeeber D Mack positioned himself perfectly as the laps wound down. Heading into the final lap he found himself in 2nd, behind Ray Zerback, with series points leader Nick Phillips right behind him. Heading down the backstretch Mack made his move passing Zerback on the inside, Phillips tried to pass high and ended up losing three positions. Mack then held off Zerback, Kang, Zalez and Koremlink to take the victory, his second in three races. Sorry guys, I've been real busy lately and haven't been able to get races in. I might be able to run one today but there won't be any others until Sunday or Monday. I will finish up the current season next week.

Coca-Cola Predictions
Here's the picks for the Coca-Cola 500 from our esteemed panel of racing experts.
- MICHAEL PERSINGER - CHARLOTTE OBSERVER Sonny Daze - It's time for Daze to find victory lane. He ran well at Coca-Cola last year and should do the same today. - LISA NAPOLI - THATSRACIN.COM John Condor - Condor has put together a terrific season thus far and will add a second victory to his resume. - DAVID POOLE - CHARLOTTE OBSERVER Kai Collins - Collins qualified and ran well here last year and should do the same in today's race. - RUPEN FOFARIA - RPM.ESPN.COM Mike Tokunaga - He is slowly fading out of the championship picture, a victory today would jumpstart his chances. - GEORGE W. BUSH - PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES Travis Elkin - I'm gonna pick Travis Elkin. No real reason except for that I like picking Travis Elkin. |

Coca-Cola 500 Results
A very crazy race. Only 18 cars were running at the end. Problems struck Championship contenders Nick Phillips and Mike Tokunaga early. Both were involved in the same accident, Tokunaga wouldn't be able to make it through and finished 38th. Phillips sustained heavy damage but his crew patched his car up very quickly. It looked like Chris Snow would gain plenty of points, he stayed up front all day as Phillips ran times much slower than the leaders. But with 15 laps left, Snow was running 2nd when he was involved in an accident which would give his car heavy damage. He went three laps down and finished 12th, while Phillips showed his championship form and finished 10th with a heavily damaged car.
But the main story was Rob Nielsen. Nielsen has struggled quite a bit this season with only two Top Ten's and 6 DNF's. But none of that mattered today as he led 54 laps and took home his first victory. Standings
Phillips gained 2 points on Snow to extend his lead to 152. Kodos moved up to 3rd and is 286 points back. Tokunaga is 4th, 315 back. It's pretty much down to two drivers, Phillips and Snow.
