Barcelona have offered us 21.5 million for James McFadden today. McFadden is getting older and has had injuries this year, but he is still my 3rd best striker. I counter with 50 million. If they want to offer that much, I'll let him go. Covelo has been sacked by Valencia. Chelsea have paid 5 million for Jordi, a good young right fullback who was with Deportivo. |

Today we host Arsenal in an EPL Match. They are in 8th place, but I'm not taking them lightly. I'll be using my top lineup today (despite just playing 4 days ago, I won't increase my chances of losing to Arsenal of all teams.) Arsenal is led by the dynamic scoring of Lukas Podolski who has 10 goals on the year. Midfielder Mario is playing great. Left winger Jose Antonio Reyes is still excellent at the age of 29. Salomon Kalou is a good right winger. Joseph Yobo is a good centreback, however, he might struggle as Ashley Cole is injured and the rest of his fellow defenders haven't been playing well. Manuel Almunia is still the primary keeper, but he is starting to fade in skill. We are 5-4 favorites. It's raining with temperatures in the 40's. GK: Howard DL: chivu DC: Lucio DC: Ferdinand DR: Brown ML: Downing MC: Djemba MC: Fletcher MR: Schreurs SC: Rooney SC: Adriano S1: Taylor S2: Salva S3: Alfonso S4: Mamam S5: King |

WE have over 91,000 fans here today. 60 minute mark: Adriano is having a totally listless game. I'm yanking him (and might warn him as well.) Game over. Disappointing 1-1 tie. We outshot them 18-8 (6-2 on target) Their keeper, Almunia, won MoM. Adriano did nothing this game and had a 4 for form. Liverpool have sold top youngster Jordi to Atletico de Madrid for 25.5 million. Liverpool fans are livid at the sale of their favorite youngster. Chelsea have offered 25 million plus John Hall (a good young left winger who starred in my most recent U21 England match) for Eagles. I counter by asking for a straight up trade for Freddy Adu.

I still can't believe we blew the quadruple so early in the season. Today we host Everton in the first leg of the English League Cup Semi-Final. We still have a shot at the treble, and I don't want to let that get by me. Everton has been surprisingly good in the EPL this year. They are 4th in the EPL and they are doing it behind a diversified offense. Strikers Nathan Ellington and Mauro Di Mauro are having a great year. Centrebacks Anthony Gardner and Sean Brady are difficult to score against. Aaron Lennon has been a very good right winger and Andy Reid hs having a great year on the left side. Ceiran Hutcheson is a good enough keeper. They beat us earlier this year, but we will pull out the top team against them today.. We are 4-6 favorites. It's raining with temperatures in the 50's. GK: Howard DL: Chivu DC: Lucio DC: Ferdinand DR: Brown ML: Downing MC: Djemba MC: Fletcher MR: Schreurs SC: Rooney Sc: Adriano S1: Taylor S2: Salva (he is demoted out of starting in my 2nd string.) S3: Ortega S4: Mamam S5: Marino (king is hurt.) |

3 minute mark: Downing passes to Rooney in the box.. he dribbles past a defender.. passes to Adriano.. he heads it.. the keeper blocks it.
5 minute mark: Downing crosses it long to Adriano.. he heads it.. into the upper right corner.. GOAL!!!!! 1-0. 17 minute mark: Their defender, Gardner, has just made a series of great plays on both Rooney and Adriano. 18 minute mark: Danny Hope gives Rooney a yellow card for a trip on Gardner. 33 minute mark: Rooney dribbles past two defenders on the left side of the pitch.. into the box.. he passes to Schreurs in the middle of the 6 yard box.. Schreurs hits it on the half-volley.. over the keeper's shoulder.. GOAL!!!! 2-0! (That is why I like Schreurs over Eagles - Schreurs is the better scorer and just as good at distributing or almost as good. Howver, he is a much better scorer than Eagles.) Halftime: 2-0 lead for us. We have over 85,000 fans here today. 47 minute mark: Djemba gets a yellow card for unfairly jumping with Gardner. 50 minute mark: Schreurs passes to Fletcher outside the box.. he shoots a hard curving shot.. upper left corner.. the keeper blocks it.. Rooney pounces on the rebound.. shoots.. upper right corner.. the keeper couldn't recover in time.. GOAL!!!! 3-0. 61 minute mark: Downing with a corner kick to the near post.. Adriano jumps.. whistle.. Gardner pushed him.. Penalty awarded.. Rooney steps up.. shoots.. upper right corner.. barely over the bar! 68 minute mark: Lucio gets a yellow card for a trip on Serhat (my former player.) 75 minute mark: Marino on for Rooney, Mamam on for Djemba, and Salva on for Lucio (all guys with yellow cards.) Game over. 3-0 win for us. We outshot them 15-8 (8-2 on target) Downing wins MoM, 10 for form, 10 of 15 passes, 0 tackles, 2 of 6 headers, 3 interceptions, 17 runs, 1 foul drawn, and 1 assist. Schreurs had a 9 for form. |

WOW!!! Chelsea have agreed to the one-on-one transfer of Freddy Adu for Christopher Eagles!!!! I don't see how this helps them, unless they desperately need a right winger as Adu has a MUCH higher value, but I'm jumping on it! I never thought they would actually agree when I made this move I just need Eagles to agree to this deal and reject all of the other deals now.. |

Chelsea have given me permission to contact Adu. Adu wants 100,000/week as well as a 5.6 million dollars signing bonus, 5,800/goal and 3,000/assist. The board will only allow me to offer 5.2 million as a signing bonus, but they will allow me to offer up to 240,000/week. I decide to offer him a 3 year deal with 120,000/week as a base salary. |

Today we travel to play coventry in an important EPL game. They are currently in 14th and we are in 2nd. I need our 2nd stringers to play well today and show me they are capable of beating weaker teams. Coventry is led by young striker Wayne Worthington who leads the team with 10 goals despite only starting 10 games. He has been a sub in 10 other games. Keeper Marco Tedeschi has had a great year so far. Right winger Dani has played very well. Striker Shola Ameobi remains a veteran threat to score. Martin Scott is a decent centreback who is having a rough year. We are 4-7 favorites. It's overcast with temperatures in the low 40's. GK: Howard DL: Schmidt DC: O'Shea (promoted ahead of Salva) DC: Marchetti (looking great in practice) DR: Grygera ML: Alfonso MC: Stevanovic MC: Cook MR: Godoy (needs to do better this game) SC: McFadden SC: Smith S1: Taylor S2: Silvestre S3: Parker S4: Mamam S5: Marino |

1st minute: Godoy burns his man down the right sideline.. crosses it to Smith.. he heads it.. the keeper blocks it.
8 minute mark: Marchetti with a key defensive play on Ameobi in the box. 20 minute mark: McFadden takes it down the left sideline.. crosses it to the near post.. Alfonso heads it.. barely wide left. 28 minute mark: Howard stops a series of shots. 34 minute mark: Howard stops a flurry of shots, very acrobatic play by Howard. 38 minute mark: Godoy with a long pass to McFadden.. he dribbles into the box.. shoots.. upper left corner.. the keeper dives.. blocks it. Halftime: 0-0 tie. They have over 32,000 fans here today. 46 minute mark: O'Shea trips Amoebi in the box.. penalty awarded.. David steps up.. shoots.. to Howard's left.. he dives.. blocks it.. Ameobi gets the rebound.. shoots.. Howard catches it! 51 minute mark: Alfonso passes to Smith just outside the box.. Smith draws two defenders.. passes between them to McFadden in the box.. he shoots.. upper left corner.. GOAL!!!! 1-0. 68 minute mark: Whing passes to Williams.. Williams passes to Chaplow in the box.. he shoots a quick powerful banana shot.. it curves.. upper right corner.. GOAL. 1-1. 74 minute mark: Mamam on for Cook, and Marino on for McFadden. I also tell the team to open up the offense more. 78 minute mark: O'Shea with a long pass to Smith.. he dribbles into the box.. the defender catches him from behind.. strips the ball.. it bounces to Marino.. he shoots.. weak shot to the upper left corner.. the keeper saves it. 85 minute mark: Godoy passes it to Marino in the left side of the box.. he fakes out the keeper.. shoots.. wide left. Game over. Yet another draw. 1-1 tie. I need to look at getting another speed striker who can burn the defense. They outshot us 19-8 (13-5 on target) Howard won MoM for his 12 saves, 9 for form. O'Shea, Grygera, McFadden, and Smith all had 8's for form. |

Tim Howard and John O'Shea were both selected to the EPL Team of the Week. Adu accepted my contract offer! Adriano and Howard were both called up for the North American Gold Cup! DARN!!! Eagles rejected the offers from Inter, Juventus, and most importantly Chelsea! He has agreed to terms with Lazio. Do I dare back out of the deal at the last second. That is so fraught with danger. Chelsea might not agree to the deal on the second time, or Eagles might refuse to go. Also, I'm sure I'd take a professionalism hit.. Thoughts anyone? I'm going to save the game and think about this for a while. |

Even money says Chelsea won't agree to the deal the second time. For what its worth, you don't have to respond to transfer offers immediately- you can wait for others to roll in, and only accept the good ones..

Chelsea just lost Arjen Robben, their starting right winger for 3 months. I forgot to post that (it happened after they accepted the Eagles trade.) So, now they desperately need a right winger. However, I still think you are probably right and they probably won't accept the deal a second time. I agree that I should have waited a bit more before accepted a deal, but I thought 27.5 was about as good as it was going to get (he is only valued at 20 million right now.)

I thought this was freaking hilarious, the way you were tripling everyone's offers that you didn't want to deal with and then just stuck Adu in there. Then they said yes, and I almost died. Then I thought oh no, why didn't he cancel all the other offers? Then...oh man, HOW COULD YOU SCREW UP YOUR CHANCE TO GET ADU AND STICK IT RIGHT UP CHELSEA's ASS? sigh...i'm so depressed. I recommend you go back to the save game right after chelsea accepted and get it right |

Cox was being offered by either Milan or Juventus. Lazio was just offering the 27.5 million. Therefore, I've made up my mind. I'm going to risk the professionalism hit, and cancel the deal. I'm going to try to make the Chelsea deal work. I won't go back in time to a previous save as that would be too much of a cheat to me. |

I'm surprised I didn't get roasted in the press for that loss either.
Cox looks like a good, but not very good or great centreback, but he is only 20. He is on England's U21 National Pool. Robb, I really must try to get Adu. Eagles is ANGRY at me now for canceling the Lazio deal, but I'm hopeful that I can send him to Chelsea for Adu soon *crosses fingers* |
