USC has completely dominated defensively in the 1st half. 24-0 at halftime.

As of right now what're the BCS bowls gonna look like?
Rose - USC vs OSU Orange - BC vs Cinncy Sugar - OSU vs Florida/Bama Fiesta - Utah vs Texas Tech BCS Title - UT vs UF/Bama I'm assuming Oregon State and OU lose |

I'm a little choked up as I watch Fulmer get carried off the field on the shoulders of his players.
I'm so glad he went out with a victory.

That's why I referred to my recall. It did indeed appear 5 times vs Auburn but vanished prior to the injury, used only twice against NIU & Georgia in the last two games prior to the injury.

What in the Wide World of Sports is going on in that Oregon-Oregon St. game?
Seems like everytime I look up, Oregon is scoring. |

There's no doubt it's been used more often the last two games. I don't think it has so much to do with the 'firing' of Fulmer as to coaches deciding to use Berry and Jones more as quarterbacks because of how horrible that Wyoming game was. Neither Jones or Berry played offense in that game if my horrible video off of ESPN360 was correct.

I believe you are correct about their non-role in the offense in the Wyoming game. But my sense of things is that, after the firing, there was no longer a reluctance to try whatever might possibly work in order to generate some offense, notice the increased workload for Lennon Creer as another example. My point was really more to the notion that if they had found a little more offense (against Georgia specifically), the coaching change might not have taken place this year at all. Not necessarily a good thing either, just saying.

I really believe that Berry and Jones started working more at quarterback for that reason, the "nothing to lose" reason. It looked rather horrible last week, however.
I'm happy that Creer got more playing time, though injuries to both Foster and Hardesty had a little do with it. I would have liked to see Poole a little more this season as well. More offense would have almost certainly saved his job. I believe Cutcliffe saved him from being fired two seasons ago with his work. I seriously don't buy into the notion Clawson just needed more time. Screw time. Cutcliffe got it done. Get it done, coach.

Unless UCLA pulls off the miracle, I think USC is going to roll over PSU worse then they did over Iowa a few years back

...picked up from last week's discussion, after GT over UGA (9-3), UF (11-1) over FSU, Clemson over USC-E (7-5), and assuming WF over Vandy (6-6) (WF is up 23-10 with 3 minutes to play, and I'm tired and about to head to bed):

Wow, Oklahoma State just got a heck of a gift from the officials. No poetic justice at all if they score on this drive.

So what would have been 21-20 Oklahoma becomes 23-19 OU thanks to the two point return.
And now one deflection later it's 30-19 OU.

While I'll agree with you that PSU might be facing a 21-point > loss in the Rose Bowl, I hope you're not basing that decision on tonight's Notre Dame game. I mean, freaking Syracuse beat this Notre Dame team. Notre Dame is just not good. |

I live about 15 minutes from the USC campus, I'm aware of how good they are. They are probably third in the this town after the Lakers and Dodgers and the Dodgers are in the offseason. Because if USC can't be in the NC Title game which I realize is a very long shot, I'd like them to win the Pac-10 and go to the Rose Bowl. |

If OSU won, USC would have still won the PAC-10. Even though it might seem like a counter point to my other comment, the players dont want to go to the Rose Bowl. |

They would have only been co-winners though, right? And Oregon State would have gone to the Rose Bowl. I know some of the players would prefer to go to another bowl, but I think there are some that realize the tradition of the Rose Bowl and appreciate it, if they can't go to the NC Title game. |

Brian, you should see my son. He got on his USC shirt, USC sweats and for all I know, USC boxers. He had been so excited flipping back and forth between the USC game and the Oregons game. Now he's getting all hyper again with Ok State pulling closer.

Yeah, I thought they lost the Pac-10 if Oregon State won out. At best, they would have been co-winners, but I think with the H2H loss to Oregon State, I thought that would have given the title to Oregon State. |

Rose Bowl used to give it to the team that hadn't been longer in cases of tiebreakers, but they got rid of that a few years back. In a threeway tie situation? I think it goes to who lost the to "best opponent", which would be then...Oregon? |

No sir. Pac-10 rules. In a multiple-team tie, if it cannot be resolved by who has the best head-to-head against the other two, it then goes to record against the next-highest ranked team in conference, which is Cal. OSU and USC both beat Cal, while Oregon lost to them, so that reduces the tie to OSU and USC, which is then determined based on head-to-head with one another. |

Nice of OU to go for a TD with 20 seconds left from the 35 yard line. Wow, though I am not any BIG 12 or other big school in the BCS running I now have a reason to hate these OU assholes at least the coach . What a tool.

Right because USC looked so good against Oregon State. Oh yea they had a "bad" game. But it is okay for USC to have a bad game because they have so much talent. I'm not saying that Penn State is going to roll USC but it isnt going to be a push over like you think. And Penn State has done one thing that no other top 10 team has done this year...they beat a top 10 opponent on the road. Last edited by Dr. Sak : 11-29-2008 at 11:24 PM. |

On OU's behalf, they were running the ball and eating all 40 seconds of the clock. I believe it would have run out, but Oklahoma State called timeout with 34 seconds left. Bradford had a hurt thumb and stopped taking the ball under center, so kneeling was not an option. They ran the same play they had, a handoff up the middle and Oklahoma State refused to stop it. |
