Another move like that one and Stevie Y will be introduced as the new Wings GM sooner than we expected.

Hey man...

Just a quick note that I hope you die soon.

Cheers.

So, the Ducks pick up another offensively minded defenseman and a very mediocre goalie who probably isn't any better than Hiller even right now. Not exactly the moves I was hoping for, especially with the Stars getting significantly better. Detroit not making a move (like many others in this thread I don't rate Stuart) is a nice bonus though.

I'm not concerned. We still have to try to get Perry under contract so getting anyone who wasn't a rental would possible give us difficulties doing that. And Burke not only isn't find of going rent-a-player for Stars, but I'll bet everyone and their mother was asking for Edmonton's first rounder, which he said he won't deal.

Face it, our "deadline moves" were bringing back Scotty and Teemu. My two surprises were that we didn't pick up some checking line center to help with Carter being out, and that we didn't pick up some other thug to make the league hate us more.

IMO, Stars also gave up tons to get Richards, although it will help them down the road. I think we're still looking very good in comparison to most teams.

The Ruutu trade pays off somewhat already as he got an assist on a Samsonov goal and then Samsonov scored in OT to win over New Jersey. Caps won also tonight, so the lead is still five points.
