That's terrible if true.

I admit, it looks pretty shitty from that angle. The real story involves a lot more, including Arkansas with its own PR battles forcing Petrino to get on the plane that night after having 3 high profile coaches basically signed and then backing out before the next morning. Getting him on the plane was a requirement and Petrino wanted out of Atlanta badly enough to endure the shitstorm that Atlanta told him was coming even after they initially granted him permission to talk to Arkansas.

Tennessee with a good chance here, if Crompton stops throwing it in the stands on 3rd down.

Or if this excuse for a line rediscovering the lost art of blocking.

edit: Or decides to replace throwing it into the sidelines with something other than trying to skip it across the turf like a flat stone on water.

Auburn certainly helping UT here. They ran these last two plays as if they were in victory formation.

You mean the story of the "friend" of Petrino's sport agent. Super-crediable source there.

I think Auburn believes 14 points is all they'll need. They aren't bright as a rule.

Seems only fair, after all Phat Phil has been helping Auburn all day by putting an empty jersey in at QB.

My bad...I apologize. It's very apparent that a sport agent who is friends with Petrino's agent is far more credible than Atlanta beat writers and columnists...and Atlanta radio guys who cover the team...and all the Falcon players...and Arthur Blank.

I really mean it...it's hard to ignore hearsay from a member of such a credible profession like being a sports agent.

Ball is underthrown. The receiver has got to see that and stop, which would force the defender to run into him.

Because he wasn't given much of a choice in the matter. It was the right decision to leave Atlanta and it was only Atlanta that made him leave in that manner.

Well the UT game is a reasonable guess, if only because it involves a QB mistake and another player failing to make a heads up play.

Actually, what makes the most sense is admitting the man has severe character flaws since stuff like this happens wherever he goes.

No, I don't think that. But I do know the Atlanta media hated Petrino, too. They all hated him because he was not suited to the pro game. I like going to the Louisville boards to find out what people think of him. They sure seem to miss him there. I've also had lots of conversations with Louisville fans. I've been reassured by a great many of them that we have a coach that will get the job done and they would take him back in a heartbeat. They really hated to see him go.

I can see how it would seem like everywhere he goes, though. If you were in Atlanta.

Anyway, I'd rather talk about the games. I got sucked into this stupid crap again by that karma nonsense, which is pretty much exactly the opposite of how it really is. The real karma slap should've come in Gainesville, but he inherited a pretty decent team talent-wise from Orgeron, who actually recruited.

I hope Ole Miss enjoys whatever they can get this season with that talent. Nutt is already getting annihilated in recruiting. Again. Meanwhite, Petrino is on pace to have the best recruiting class since recruiting classes have been ranked. I'm ok with that.

Well, duh. Kragthorpe is an idiot who has decimated their program. They'd love to have anyone instead of Kragthorpe.

Next three weeks are huge for Texas. They are ahead of where I thought they'd be this season. At Colorado, vs. OU at the Cotton Bowl, then hosting Mizzou are a great stretch of games.

Honestly, I'd take that if he'll stay. We really needed to be rid of Nutt, and I think this is a homerun hire. He doesn't have to speak at my wedding or anything. Just put our program back together. It really is a wreck. I don't really think he's as bad as most people think, though. Really. And I've looked into it a lot and talked to a lot of people.

No worries. I know you're in your honeymoon. I always liked you and just feel bad for what's to come. Just like you said for the Ole Miss fans to enjoy it while they can (which, I think is little selective memory. I know Nutt had some real good recruiting classes as well. I was always of opinion that it wasn't recruiting with him, but lack of team discipline to handle some the crazies he'd bring in), enjoy the salesman while you can. Maybe you'll get lucky and he'll leave you in the middle of the night with some decent talent. He is a good saleman. He can probably charm 18 old kids to pay him to come to Arkansas.

Cool...just don't be insulted that anytime anyone brings up Petrino's name, people are not going to hesitate to make mention that he's human garbage. You have have to take the good with the bad. Trust me on this...because if you didn't realize it, the Vick brothers went to my alma mater. I've only heard about what they've done a couple hundred times over the last year or two.

Yeah, as if it was the programs fault. VT is a classy program that is now a bit tarnished by a couple of bad seeds.
