Joe Bagadonut's Post Fight Press Conference

Jim Lampley - "Joe, why did you try to out point Fat Chance?"

Joe - "In sparring we where having a hard time hurting our opponent enough to get the KO, and without it we were getting killed, either on the score card or at the end of the fight by the opponent taking advantage of our fatigue."

Stiener, "Beans seemed to fatigue using this style too."

Joe - "He did, but it isn't like he wasn't in shape for this fight. He was throwing around 30 jabs a round. Typically, what Beans did tonight is good enough to get a win."

Atlas "Beans now has a losing record. You concerned?"

Joe "Here we go again. No I'm not concerned yet. Fat Chance is extremely tough. Did you see how many punches that guy was throwing late in the fight. 10 power punches, 12 jabs and 10 rights, that is absolutely ridiculos. I don't know how he lost the fight he did lose. His only weakness appears to be strength. Even though we were tired in the fight and he was throwing not only a lot of punches, but big ones, he never hurt us. If we get another shot, we'll try to come up with a way to pummel him."

Pancho O'Kelly (4-0-1) (4/0) vs Tartar 31 (9-8-1) (1/1) Pre Fight Assessment

Jimmy the Greek

"This is one of those fights that looks like a mismatch on paper. O'Kelly is a very good fighter, who is coming off 4 straight wins. Tartar is an adequate fighers who has lost 3 of his last 4. However, one stat that betters should take notice of is the KOs. O'Kelly has thus far been a knock out artist. He has distroyed his last 4 opponents, however, Tartar is a very well conditioned fighter with a rock chin. Tartar has only been KOed 1 time in 17 fights."

"It will be interesting to see how O'Kelly attacks Tartar. Even though Tartar has only been KOed 1 time, he has also gotten only 1 KO in 17 fights, so he isn't really a dangerous puncher. Will O'Kelly attempt the knockout. If he goes for it, and doesn't get it, he will probably lose on the score cards. This could be very entertaining."

-----Predictions-----

Jimmy the Greek, "O'Kelly is a very good, but inexperienced fighter. I think he makes a tactical error, goes for the KO and gets outpointed on the scorecards. I'll take Tartar with a 116 to 114 decission."

Teddly Atlas, "I've seen O'Kelly throw some bombs. I don't think Tartar, with his great chin can stand up to those. I'll take O'Kelly with a KO in the 11th."

Jim Lampley - "O'Kelly can box. I remember his first fight, he put on a clinic against Gift Clincher, until Clincher started throwing caution to the wind late in the fight. I think O"Kelly resorts to his old style, and out boxes Tartar. O'Kelly in a runaway decission."

Max Kellerman - "Puhlease. Just tell Tartar to retire. He would make a great sparring partner for someone if he needs the money."

Max Kellerman - Post Fight Commentary

I have to say I appologize to Tartar. He fought much better than I anticipated. In fact, he was close to pulling this upset, but O'Kelly found a way to pull it off, and will now be around the #30 ranked fighter in his division.

I've been impressed with O'Kelly. The kid punches, boxes, has the heart to get up when he's getting pounded. Let's hope he'll continue to get better, and rise in the rankings. Maybe I just have a soft spot for those Latino Irish fighters.

Joe Bagadonuts - Post Fight Interview

Charlie Stiener - "Is Pancho going to speak with us?"

Joe "That's up to him. I'll ask when I'm finished here."

Lampley - "This fight was very close were you concerned going to the cards?"

Joe "To be honest we thought we had a bigger lead than what the cards indicated. Maybe Pach took it a little too easy in the late-middle rounds. We'll work on that, but to answer your question - no I really felt like we had won."

Kellerman "Do you consider Pach a puncher or a boxer?"

Joe "Depends on the opponent. Pach has the ability to do a lot of stuff, no reason to pigeon hole him into 1 style."

Bob Lea - "Joe about your arrest recently."

Joe "Sorry, no more questions."

Bicentennial Gift Clincher Retires

Promising young fighter Bicentennial Gift Clincher has surprisingly announced his retirement. Clincher, a 2 time gold glove champion and a fighter who had a good chance at a spot on the Olympic team had he decided to remain an amateur, retired yesterday.

Clincher’s professional career ends after facing only 1 opponent - Pancho O’Kelly. In the first fight between the two fighters O’Kelly jumped out to a huge lead, only to see Clincher destroy him in the last few rounds. O’Kelly managed to get up repeatedly from the massive beatings and because of that the fight was ruled a draw. In the second fight, O’Kelly took the fight to Clincher and KOed him.

“Clincher just couldn’t get over the nightmares of the two O’Kelly fights,” reported Clincher trainer Terry Talon. “We felt we won the first fight, then we were shocked by O’Kelly’s strength in the second. I still think Clincher could be a great fighter, but he just doesn’t have his heart in it anymore.”

Little Hevywate Retires

The man who announced his goal was to be the worlds first sub-100 lb heavyweight champion, has retired with an 0 – 4 record. Many viewed this as a publicity stunt, but the former jockey continually stressed he was serious about his boxing career. However, after 4 consecutive losses, and the last 3 severe beatings, his trainer decided to call it quits.

It is unclear if Hevywate was in agreement with this decision. He was unavailable for comment. Currently, Hevywate’s mouth is wired shut and although he is difficult to understand it sounds to this reporter like he keeps saying getty-up.

Wow, Panch barely pulled off a victory. My hats off to Tardar who sure gave us a scare. A split decision victory is better than no victory at all. We'll chalk this up as a learning experience and bask in the fact that we still have an undefeated record! I'm interested to see where Panch lands in the rankings.

A reporter from Ring Magazine catches up with Pancho O'Kelly as he leaves the Irish Latino restaurant he owns with his brother Joe Joe.

"Pancho, any reaction to the retirement announcement of the Bicentennial Gift Clincher?"

"I was shocked when I heard the news. As he showed in our first fight, Clinch is a damn good fighter. I think of Clinch and myself as the Rocky and Apollo Creed of our era. We had two really good fights with a highly anticipated rematch. As my first opponent, I'll always have a soft spot for 'ol Clinch."

"As an aside, what does one eat at an Irish Latino restaurant?"

"Fajitas with a pint of Guiness."

Jimmy "Hurricane" Saunders (3-1-0) (2/0) vs Charlie Johnson 5-4-0 (5/2).

Pre-Fight Assesment

Teddy Atlas - "Suprise Suprise, Hurricane Saunders is going up against another fighter who bangs early and wears out late. However, Johnson has been very successful with that tactic recently, knocking out his last 3 opponents. Johnson is more active than Saunders' most recent opponents. Typically, Saunders' opponents threw 6 maybe 7 punches a round. Johnson throws 10 or 11 power punches and a couple rights. Basically, Johnson is much more dangerous that Hurricane's last few fights, but if Saunders can get to the 5th, the outcome will probably be the same."

----Predictions-----

Atlas - "I think Hurricane hits the canvass in this one, but gets off the mat, pushes the fight to the late rounds and gets a KO in the 12th."

Jimmy the Greek, "Johnson's on a roll, and I don't think Saunders has been hit as hard as he is going to get hit tomorrow. I'll take Johnson with a 5 round KO."

Max Kellerman "Johnson with a shocking knockdown in the 1st and a KO in the second."

Jim Lampley "Hurricane has done a great job against these types of fighters in the past. I expect more of the same. He might get hurt more, he might get tired a little quicker because of the harder pounding, it might take him longer to get the KO, but he'll get it."

Sounds like more of the same- more dancing. Btw, does training affect my permanent ratings (ie do I have different ratings than when I started)? If so, is my endurance a couple of points higher now?

SI,

When you train for a sklll and beat an opponent with equal or better ranking the skill you train is added to your permanent numbers. Therefore, Hurricane Saunders is currently,

Str - 12
Sp - 12
Ch - 10
Cut - 1
KO - 0
Ag - 13
Con - 13

I currently have you training for conditioning for this upcoming fight. However, I've done no sparring to determine if that is the best place yet or not.

Butcher Babson vs Vitalie Klitscho

FOFC Figher Butcher Babson will make his professional debut Friday against another first time fighter Vitalie Klitscho. Babson is a tall 6'4" and thin 188 lb figher, but Klitscho is taller 6'7" and the same weight.

Joe Bagadonuts "We don't know much about Klitscho, other than the fact he's tall. I do know the House of Style Gym likes the tall thin fighters that work from the outside, so I'm guessing that's what Klitchco is going to do. The other two Sytle fighters are lacking in strength. One has a fought 40 or so times and managed only 6 KOs the other has 5 fights under his belt and no KOs. If Klischo is similar to the other two...we should probably come out throwing bombs and hope to wear him out. Of course we could be walking into a wall with that style."

I currently have you training for conditioning for this upcoming fight. However, I've done no sparring to determine if that is the best place yet or not.

Cool- just wondering how the game mechanics work. Anyways- I think the fight plan's solid. You've done a great job so far and see no reason to change it up.

Sounds like a tough one for you to draw up...do his fighters seem to have good conditioning? Maybe soften him up early then go for a KO? If they tend to have good conditioning, it'll probably be a real tough fight. Sorry to put you through the trouble too, but could you repost Butcher's stats so we can figure out what to train on him? Thanks

Jag,

Butcher ranks like this:

Str 7
Sp 11
Chin 9
Cut 1
KO 2
Ag 10
Con 14

We'll have to try and wear out the opponent, dispite the 2 KO rating I don't think Butcher is strong enough to get an early KO.

The FOFC Gym has 2 fighters going tonight. Jimmy "Hurricane" Saunders and Brain "the Butcher" Babson. We caught up with trainer Joe Bagadonuts as he was entering the gym this morning.

"Joe how has sparring gone for Saunders and Babson?"

"Hurricane has been impressive. He's withstood the early barage and finished off his opponent anywhere between the 8th an the 11th. He's been knocked down serveral times, but he's been able to get up and finish the deal."

"Babson is another story. We've been able to pound away on our sparring partner, and we haven't been hurt but a couple of times when we got despirate in the 12th, but we can't seem to do enough damage to get the KO. We are working on a more complex strategy, but I have to get some feedback from my mentor on how to apply it. We'll come up with something soon."

Jace Hunter (2-2-0) (2/1) vs Peazy (7-9-0) (6/8) Pre-Fight Assessment

Charlie Stiener "Peazy is an interesting character. He started his carear with 2 KOs and at one time was 3 and 1 with 3 KOs. However, he has lost his last 5 fights, 4 by KO, and 6 of his last 7. He's an inside pounder who tires about the 8th, and he hasn't figured out a way to control his effort level to prevent the fatigue."

"Similarly, Hunter started out 2 and 0, but has struggled recently. However, the opponents Hunter has faced have been extremely tough."

-----Predictions------

Stiener "I think this is a good chance to get Hunter back on track. I expect a Hunter KO in the 10th."

Atlas "Peazy seems to have lost interest in fighting. Maybe his trainer can get him motivated once again, but I doubt it. I'll take Hunter with a late round KO."

Jimmy the Greek "Peazy doesn't seem to want to work hard enough to get in shape. And if he doesn't get in shape he isn't going to last 12 rounds. If Peazy weighs in at 225 or above I think he gets KOed again."

George Forman "Never underestimate a guy who throws big punches. Peazy is dangerous and if Hunter takes him lightly, he'll be in for a big suprise. I think Peazy wins with a 6th round KO."

Les "Their" Cherries (3-1-0) (3/1) vs Bud "King of" Beers (2-0-1) (0/0) Pre-Fight Analysis.

Sugar Ray Leonard - "You have to be kidding me. Why is Beers a fighter and not a basketball player. He's 7'1" for crying out loud, and at 7'1" he'd be an NBA lottery pick even if he wasn't coordinated enough to tie his own shoes. Beers id coordinated though. In fact, he's a good fighter that has nice footwook. He likes to work from the outside, but he will still throw bombs from out there. I guess with arms that long it's possible to do that. Interestingly, he tends to take the first part of the fight off, and then kick it in around the 6th round, but when he kicks it in...look out. He throws about 15 power punches and an equal amount of jabs. He's very dangerous even though he isn't very strong. I'm say that because dispite his activity level in the last 7 rounds of a fight...he has never even knocked down an opponent."

"Cherries is a fighter that does a considerable amout of damage. Just look at the faces of Kidd and Thacker if you need proof. The only problem is...last time he fought a tall opponent - "Anaconda" Johnson he was KOed."

------Predictions-----

Sugar Ray - "Like the Anaconda Johnson fight, I think Cherries isn't going to be able to get inside enought to hurt Beers, will panic and get caught with a straight right which will end the fight."

George Forman - "Cherries is much stronger than Beers, and he'll use that to his advantage. Look for a late round KO by Cherries."

Kellerman - "I love it. Contrasting styles, this should be fun. It's up in the air but I'll take Cherries with a 12 round KO."

Al Bernstien - "I think this will be one of the best fights we've seen in a while. Cherries is probably going to be trailing on the cards early, I don't expect Beers to take the first 6 rounds off in this fight. Then Cherries will be working on the KO and it will be a race. Can Cherries hurt the tall man enought to bring him down before we run out of rounds. I think Cherries will run out of rounds. Beers will probably be pretty beat up, but I think he stays on his feet and wins a decission 117 - 113."

The WeBL just released there current rankings and FOFC fighter
Pancho O'Kelly is #31 in the Superwelter Weight division.

When asked how he felt about that Trainer Joe Bagadonuts responded,"It's great. We're getting fights that are making us money, but we still have a long way to go - like 31 spots."

Jim Lampley - "I expected Hurricane to win, but not this way. Hurricane was in control the entire fight and was clearly better than his opponent."

"I was very disappointed in Charlie Johnson's effort. It's as if he knew early there was nothing he could do to beat Hurricane and he packed it in."

Post Fight Press Conference with Trainer Joe Bagadonuts

Jim Lampley - "Joe, Hurricane really did a number on Johnson tonight."

Joe "Is that a question?"

Jim "How do you feel?"

Joe "I'm tired it's 2 am for crying out loud."

Jim "No I mean about Hurricane's performance."

Joe "Well why didn't you say that originally. He fought real well, I think we were able to do whatever we wanted tonight."

Burt Sugar "Your fighter seemed disinterested towards the end of the fight. Does that concern you for future bouts."

Joe "He wasn't disinterested. We got such a big lead, and we did it without working hard and tiring out, so I instructed him to cruise the final few rounds. Johnson was sucking wind about the 9th round. I'm convenced if we had wanted to...we could have knocked him out, but why leave ourselves open for a lucky shot?"

Charlie Stiener "Hurricane is now 4 and 1. He has 2 wins by KO and 2 by decission. Will his results help him in future matches?"

Joe "I honestly don't know. It's possible an opponent will see that he failed to KO a couple of guys he was beating on pretty good and assume we don't have the strength to hurt them. If that happens great, we'll end up with a short night."

Mac Aroni slips in and whispers something in Joe's ear.

"OK guys, got to run. I've got another fighter getting ready to enter the ring, and he won't put down his butchers knife."

Joe leaves the stage.

Babson Post Fight Press Conference with Joe Bagadonuts

Jim Lampley "Joe nice start for Babson."

Joe "Was that a question? Nevermind. Next question."

Burt Sugar "Joe, in interviews leading up to this fight you indicated Babson would pound away at Klitscho, but that's not what happened at all. Were you throwing out a red herring or did something change in training?"

Joe "Originally, we planned to go right at Klitscho, but we couldn't see to do enough damage to our sparring partners to even hurt them, much less knock them out. Finally, I did some reassessing, and decided to try and beat Klitscho at his own game."

George Forman "Babson was unable to hurt his sparring partners, that has to concern you?"

Joe "It does. Right now if Babson was to fall behind in a fight, we would be in big trouble. I don't think the kid as enough power to hurt opponents. We're going to have to get him in the weight room and give him a serious work out routeen."

Forman "That boy is awful thin too. You might want to fatten him up a bit, and I have the perfect thing. The George Forman grill. It heats meat....

Joe walks off stage.

Hurricane: That was a total and complete dimantlin' of my opponent. This time I beat him so soundly that the even the judges couldn't stop the great Hurricane. Who's next to be beaten?

And, George, what the hell is that little novelty thingie for? It appears to be making the meat change color from bright red. But it smells kinda delicious. Maybe I should get me one.

As Babson walks out of the gym with a barbell, a reporter catches up with him

Reporter: Babson, that ...

Butcher: Call me Butcher. I think I'd like that.

Reporter: Er, right. Butcher, how did you feel about your debut?

Butcher: I won, I'm happy. How the hell did you think I'd feel? That Bagadonuts, he knows his stuff.

Reporter: People are saying that you're a "soft fighter". How do you response to these allegations?

Butcher: See this barbell? They aint gonna call me that for long.

Reporter: Butcher, can you tell us what are the four fundamental laws of quantum physics?

Butcher walks off, hefting the barbell over his head mumbling 'No wonder Joe hates these guys'

Blade (3-2-0) (3/2) vs Gangsta Otherside 7-5-0 (7/4) Pre Fight Assessment.

Burt Sugar - "This is a big fight for both fighters. Blade, who according to reports was contemplating retirement after his most recent loss, would like to get on the winning side again, and Otherside needs to get his career back in the win column after being KOed in 2 of his last 3 fights."

"Otherside is a big puncher early. He also has very little in the way of conditioning. Blade is a much better fighter than his 3 and 2 record would indicate. His 2 loses were against very good competition."

-----Predictions-----

Sugar "I would be astonished if Otherside was not completely exhausted by the 6th. If Blade shows patients, he should distroy Otherside in the second half of this fight. I don't think Otherside can stay on his feet past the 10th."

Kellerman "Give me a break Otherside is a 6'4" blob. He is in such bad condition Blade could win by KO with out ever throwing a punch. I really don't think Otherside could shadow box 12 rounds."

Joe Joe O'Kelly (4-1-0) (4/1) vs Bobby McPrescott II 4-1-0 (0/1) Pre Fight Assement.

Sugar Ray Leonard "Where did all these 7+ feet fighters come from. Like fellow gym fighter Les Cherries - Joe Joe is going up against a 7'1" boxer. McPrescott 2, son of champion Bobby McPrescott (19-1-0) has been very tough on using his reach to score point and keep his opponents outside. Joe Joe, who is also tall has been tough in exactly the other way....pounding people. This a battle of giants and could be real fun to watch."

-----predictions-----

Leonard "I'll take the boxer. McPrescott really knows how to use his jab and stay away from big punches. McPresscott with a 1120 to 108 decission."

Kellerman "More contrasting styles. This one is going to be interesting as well. Does McPrescott have enough strength to keep Joe Joe honest? I think so. I'll take McPrescott with a decission."

Forman "McPrescott is a 7 foot dancer. Joe Joe will eat a few burgers, get inside, push the bean pole around eventually knock him out."

Jim Lampley "McPrescott is a jabbing machine. He's learned alot from his daddy, who by the way must have had 2 when he was like 8. He'll keep Joe Joe outside and out-point him."

Ok, Joe, I think this is the time to go back to my strategy that won me my first three. I should be able to out last him if I can withstand an early barrage. What do you think?

Joe Joe O'Kelly sparring update

"Joe Joe has looked good in sparring. He's getting inside on the taller fighter and inflicting some damaging blows. So far the sparring partners haven't been able to hurt Joe Joe, but of course there is always the fear McPrescott is significantly better than the people were sparring with."

Hunter vs Peazy sparring update

"Hunter is showing good patience in practice. He's waiting for his opponent to get tired. Then he's turning up the heat and beating the snot out of the sparring partners. So far he hasn't been hurt early, but we have a few stronger sparring partners to go through."

Cherries vs Beers

"Cherries has been quite successful in training, but we really don't have a firm grasp on what Beers is going to do to us. He is very active for about half the fight, but really takes about 5 rounds off. He can out point us, but we can't determine if he's capable of hurting us or not. I would be nice if we had more than a 3 fight track record to work off of. I think we have a good plan for tonight though."

Bobby "Baked" Beans's (2-3-0) (2/0) next opponent is Killa Bee Mini Ali (5-15-1 (4/14) a 5'4" 135 lb fighter from Fayetteville NC.

Although Ali's only won 5 times...two have been by KO in his last 3 fights. He appears to be pretty active in his most recent fights - throwing 25+ jabs, 5 or so power punches and a couple rights every round. At this pace he tires about the 8th or 9th.

Joe Bagadonuts Post Fight Interview

Max Kellerman "Hunter had a little different style tonight. A few more jabs. Was that the plan?"

Joe "Well yes and no. We wanted to be little more active, but the jabs came into play because Peazy was throwing nothing but big punches...so we wanted to keep him outside as much as possible."

Charlie Stiener, "Hunter had the early lead in this one. Did that suprise you?"

Joe "Kind of. We knew Peazy would tire...so we only wanted to match his activity level early. I guess the extra jabs put us up on the cards. However, to be honest, I didn't think Peazy was going to make it 12 rounds even before the fight started."

Jim Lampley "A nice performance by Hunter. Did you have any concerns."

Joe "I felt we would win before the fight started, and I was pleased with the performance. However, I was a little concerned with Hunter's conditioning. I know Peazy was throwing bombs, and that can take the wind out of you, but to tire in the 6th is a little disconcerting. We'll have to work on that."

Burt Sugar, "Joe, Cherries won with a decission. Did that suprise you."

Joe "Yes it did. I didn't expect Beers to use his typical take the first 5 rounds off then up the activity level for the last 7 and get the decission tactic against Cherries. I really felt that he would be a little more active from the start, which would allow us to KO him late in the fight. As it turned out he did use the same tactic we got an early lead, and simply milked it. We could have knocked him out, he was tired early in this one, but I saw no need."

Joe Bagadonuts Post Fight Interview

Jim Lampley - "When Blade lost to AK-47 he was contemplating...

Joe interupts "Don't even bring up the retirement thing. This loss was ALL MY FAULT! I made a mistake, which I could have corrected 2 different ways and didn't, and because I didn't Blade was vulnerable to Otherside's power.

Burt Sugar "What was the mistake Joe?"

Joe "Watching film and using sparring partners it appeared to me that Otherside would tire in the 4th. During the fight I though Otherside was starting to tire, but I was wrong. Had I been patient and told Blade to wait one more round or if I had told him to keep his D up but throw a few more power punches, we would have survived the round and been able to dictate the fight from the 5th on. It is really a shame. I think we are the better fighter, and I hope we get another shot to prove it."
