Big needs for the team:
QB - Another young QB to groom as the possible replacement for McNabb. Sam Kellar is good enough that I'd probably let him run with the team for now if McNabb went down for a few weeks. We sign Sam to a 2 year deal at just under 3 million dollars. WR - We need a 4th and 5th WR. If there is a great kicker available in the 3rd or 4th round, I'll take them to replace Akers. MLB - Wouldn't mind a MLB in the 1st round with a higher roof than Omar. A natural at SLB to be the starter. CB - They are all getting old. I want a shut down CB. If there is one with potential midway in the 1st round, I'll try to move up to get them. S - Need another young S to develop as a backup and eventual replacement for Michael Lewis who is getting up there. Notable FA's: RT Khalif Barnes. He is only a 6th year player. Very good RT who would be a big upgrade from Winston Justice who I'm not sure is going to come back from his injury. Injury history is the biggest question with Khalif. He wants a 4 year 30 million dollar deal which is risky with his injury history. I decide to pass. RB Cedric Benson. Rated 65/65 and does everything well. I'd like to get him to work in with Brian and replace him in a year or so. He wants a 4 year deal worth 20 million with a 5 million dollar signing bonus. I offer him it since has been injury free and is only in his 6th year. CB Devin Hester - Not great in every area, but great in the areas I want to emphasize - M2M, Play Diagnosis, Punishing Hitter, and Interceptions. Has been injury prone and only played 9 games last year. He wants 3 years for 13 million with a 4 million signing bonus. I take a chance on him. Cedric actually takes a bit less money than I offered him to go to New Orleans. Stallworth leaves our team and takes a 3 year 7 million dollar deal from Jacksonville. Mike Patterson takes a 1 year deal for 1.2 million from our rival Dallas. Trotter is considering a 2 year 10 million dollar deal from Dallas. Hester is being offered 23 million over 4 years from Oakland. I decide to take a chance and offer 24 million over 4 years. The next week, Trotter signs the deal with Dallas. Devin Hester signed our deal. That takes care of the immediate CB need and means that we'll focus on taking a MLB or SLB in the 1st round of the draft. |

Interesting FA Signing:
Michael Vick signed a 3 year 8 million dollar deal with Denver. Willie Parker in his 7th year signed a 5 year 27 million dollar deal with the Colts. I see that Bernard Berrian is close on a 1 year 1 million dollar deal with Denver. I offer him 2 years for 2.5 million which he accepts. He drops a few too many balls, but is a deep threat who is only in his 7th year. He'll fill a good role as a number 3 or number 4 WR. Big Contracts: Ronnie Brown renegotiated and signed a 5 year deal worth 80 million dollars. DT Randy Starts signed a 6 year deal for 80 million. Chicago re-signed Charles Tillman for 5 years at 80 million. Tom Brady signed a 3 year extension for 44 million with NE. Laurence Maroney signed a 5 year extension for 43 million with NE. Ernie Sims signed a 6 year deal for 41 million to stay with Detriot. Khalif Barnes signed the biggest FA deal at 5 years for 42 million. Time to start the draft. |

This is the 1st year that we have all of our picks. Unfortunately, they are the 31st pick in each round.
With the 1st pick, Buffalo takes Ken Farley, a QB from Buffalo. Farley is a solid looking prospect. 2. Baltimore reaches to to take Broderick Walker, a QB who I think is a big dropoff from the #1. 3. Detroit takes Billy Joe Kornegay, a can't miss RB. 4 Minnesota takes Travis Bronson a WR with 4.28 speed and great skills but a propensity to drop balls. 5. Washington takes Emmanuel Burks a QB who I also think is a bit of a reach. 6. Houston takes a can't miss OLB, Benjamin Nixon. 7. SD takes a massive DT Ronald McDuffee. 8. TB takes Sam Dagen, a solid DT. 9. KC takes Clay Blanchard a shut down CB. 10. Carolina akes Jim Hildebrand, a great looking safety. 11. Piitsburgh takes Lamar Rivera, a very good looking RB. 12. Atlanta takes OLB Bert Skladanowski a solid looking SLB. 13. NJ takes G Mike Woods who is a massive powerful blocker. 14. SF takes Howie Barnikow, a solid looking T. 15. Cincinnati takes Paul Araguz, a good pass receiving TE. 16. GB takes Brock Zawilinshi, a solid pass blocking T. 17. Oakland takes Ian Wright, a good cornerback. 18. Arizona takes Donovan Ross the best looking WR in the draft. 19. Dallas takes Jamie Miklusiack, a very good WR. 20. Jacksonville takes James Bernhardt, a solid TE. 21. Chicago takes Marion Aleinkoff, the fastest of the TE's in the draft. 22. St. Louis takes Randal Middleton, a solid DT. 23. Cleveland takes Fred Andre, a solid CB. 24. Denver takes Johnny Gillespie, a pass rush specialist at DE. 25. NE takes WR Rodger Fletcher who I think is a bit of a reach. 26. Tennessee really reaches to take Harold Horn at QB. 27. New Orleans takes Kenny Battles, a good run stopping DT. 28. Seattle takes Rusty Royer, a good WR. 29. The Colts take Chuck Matunda, a pass blocking T. 30. the Giants take Daniel Williams, a CB that I really liked and might have been tempted to take since none of the MLB's are great players. 31. None of the MLB's really look good enough to go in the 1st round. The SLB I really wanted went to Atlanta. I decide we'll get our linebackers in the 2nd and 3rd round. I have a few choices here. Timothy Franz is a 5'11 187 pound WR with 4.44 speed and great agility. However, he tends to drop it a bit much, but has very solid skills otherwise. He could easily develop into a very good #2. However, I really don't like his drop rating. Instead, we take Alan Douglas. He is 5'11 220 HB with 4.41 speed, only 18 on the intelligence test and only 11 strength, but 7.04 agility which is among the best for all backs. His speed is the best. He also has a very good position score and is 42% developed. Our scout, whose strength is not HB's thinks he has very good breakaway speed, no power inside, good third down running, good hole recognition, excellent elusiveness, excellent speed to outside, poor blitz pickup, but great receiving skills across the board. He also has a 9'11" broad jump which is one of the best in the draft. My scout does view him as very underrated which worries me a bit. He would have affinity with my team leader. 32. Miami takes J.C. Shepard, a solid S. I'll post the HTML for the rest of the draft.

Timothy Franz goes a few picks later at 36 to Buffalo.
At 48th, Oakland takes the SLB that I considered briefly in the 1st round. None of the MLB's that I was briefly considering in the 1st round go before my pick at the end of the 2nd round. With our 2nd round pick, we take Luther Doane, a solid looking MLB. He is 6'1 251. He runs a 4.80 in the 40. He benches 26 times. He has a 7.70 in the agility drill. He has a 9'0" broad jump and a 32 in the position drill which is good for this class. He is 44% developed and is as scouted. His biggest weaknesses are in play diagnosis (which worries me a bit) and in endurance. The SLB that I almost took, Rico Howard, goes 4 picks later to Minnesota. With our 3rd round pick, we take Paul Ricker. He is a 6'2 210 pound athletic kicker who should be a top tier kicker according to our scout. However, he has the "very underrated" tag. With our 4th round pick, we take a shot on Neil Kressback. He is a 6'4 231 pound QB who is good at everything except for scramble frequency and screen passes according to our scout. He is fairly immobile with a 5.01 40 and 7.80 in the agility drill. However, our scout thinks he is highly accurate, with very good timing and a good read defense ability. Also, our scout thinks he will get along well with the other guys on the team. With our 5th round pick, we take Willie Davis, a solid looking SLB. He runs a 4.70 in the 40. He benches 18 times. He has a 7.31 in the agility drill. He has a 8'10" broad jump. He has a 12 in the position drill and 36% developed. He is "as scouted" and has an affinity with the team leader. He is above average in run defense, pass rush, M2M, zone and endurance. He is below average in BnR and Pass rush strengh. He is horrible in play diagnosis. However, I think he is worth a 5th round shot and will likely replace our aging SLB as the starter until Sherman Gregg can prove himself. With our 6th round pick, we take a FS Pete Uribe who runs a 4.50 in the 40, is very agile, and is a good special teams player/kick returner as well as having decent potential in zone defense. Is a so-so run defender. Finally, we take Danny Peterson, a WR with good hands but otherwise poor skills with our last pick. |

Jason Allen of Miami was suspended for the year due to a drug violation.
Chester Welch of Cleveland was suspended for the off field violence for the year. Chester is a rookie that was drafted this year and he has a red flag for character. Seattle is offering a 3rd round pick for Winston Justice which I turn down since it looks like he will be our starting RT. Cutting Akers was a hard thing to do. Pete Uribe looks very raw, and he may not even make the team. Wow, Chicago released Brian Urlacher due to salary cap problems. Unfortunately, I don't have the cap room to sign him either. We end up signing Oshiomogho Atogwe, a 6 year S who has a good skill level for a backup, but is injury prone. We sign him to a 1 year 930k deal. We sign Devard Darling, a good 7th year WR who has been injury prone, but has potential to be a #3 or 4 WR if he can stay healthy. He takes a 1 year 1 million dollar deal. We sign all of our rookies (as I feel it is somewhat unrealstic not to do so) but there is a good chance that Pete Uribe will get cut unless he impresses in the pre-season. Our 1st impression of our other rookies is good: RB Alan Douglas - 53/68 MLB Luther Doane - 20/53 (Omar will start this year, but hopefully Luther can win the job) K Paul Ricker - 40/75 QB Neil Kressbach 6/46 SLB Willie Davis 14/54 FS Pete Uribe 11/31 WR Danny Peterson 25/44 |

We sold 67,800 of our 68,500 possible season tickets.
Oakland is offering a 5th round pick for Sam Kellar. I turn them down. KC offers a 7th round pick for Alex Stepanovich which I quickly reject. Code:

Noticable Trends:
McNabb is starting the beginning of his decline. Westbrook continues to decline and Alan Douglas lost a bit post training camp, but he will probably get plenty of carries this year and I think the duo will give us a strong running game. I love Alan's 95 elusiveness and 95 speed to outside as well as 51/97 route running, 59/73 getting downfield, 28/75 avoid drops, 68/72 3rd down catching. Mungro continues to decline and will get his PT cut for Hancock. Our receiving corp is really solid and deep. Stephen Phillips is the clear cut starter at LG now in his 2nd year. Todd Herremans will be a great backup as long as he will tolerate it. Paul Ricker doesn't look quite as good post training camp, but I still think he'll be better this year than Akers has been the last 2 years. Kearse is losing quite a bit of his skills, and so is Darren Howard. However, Darren is still a top notch run stuffer. Sherman Gregg's potential rating keeps creeping up very slowly. He is now 22/30 post summer league and post training camp. Sheldon Brown lost a bit of his skill. Phillip Buchanon and Lito Sheppard lost quite a bit more. However, they should be good enough to be #3 and 4 CB's. Sheldon will be a decent #2. Sean Considine had a 9 point ratings boom in the off season! |

We are doing the pre-season the same as usual. I'm giving Sherman Gregg the chance to start this pre-season as well as a few of my rookies. I'll comment on notable stats.
We won our first pre-season game 23-20 over Houston at their place. Our rookie kicker, Paul Ricker hit 3 FG's from 44, 24, and 18 yards. The last was in Overtime to win the game. He did miss one short FG. Alan Douglas only had 24 yards on 11 carries. Ouch. Not a good start. Sam Kellar was 20 of 37 for 160 yards with a TD and an INT. Danny Peterson, the rookie, had 6 catches for 42 yards in his start at WR. Broderick Bunkley forced David Carr to fumble 3 times. Trent Cole and McDougle also forced him to fumble for a total of 5 fumbles. Luther Doane, the rookie MLB, had 9 tackles and 2 assists. Sherman Gregg had 3 tackles and 2 assists. McDougle had 4 sacks this game. Bunkley had 4 sacks. Tommy Kelley had 2.5 sacks. Trent Cole had 1.5 sacks and Darren Howard had a sack. Sherman Gregg only had 2 passes caught against him in 51 pass plays. Luther had 4 passes caught against him. In our 2nd game, which was hosting Baltimore, we lost 31-6. Alan Douglas had 11 carries for 88 yards including a 49 yard run. Kellar was 14 of 23 for 81 yards with 2 interceptions. Neil Kressbach was 4 of 17 for 37 yards. Douglas also had 5 catches for 37 yards which led the team. Paul Ricker was 2 of 2 on FG's. Luther Doane had 8 tackles and an assist. Sherman Gregg had 5 tackles. Trent Cole and Tommy Kelley each had 1.5 sacks. Luther Doane had a sack. |

In the 3rd pre-season game, Devin Hester suffers a "Severe Hamstring Pull" that will keep him out for most of the season
Just as bad or even worse, we lost Tommy Kelly to a serious knee injury. He is done for the year. Reggie Brown is also knocked out for a few weeks. We won the game 13-3 over Tennessee. Alan Douglas had 17 carries for 92 yards. Danny Peterson had 4 catches for 39 yards. Paul Ricker hit 2 of 3 FG's. Sherman Gregg led the team with 6 tackles. He also led the team with 4 passes allowed to be caught, but he did defense 1. In our final pre-season game, we beat Cincinnati 23-6. Alan Douglas had 25 carries for 87 yards. Westbrook had 9 carries for 42 yards. Sherman Gregg led the team with 5 tackles. Trent Cole had 4 sacks, 3 blocks, 2 hurries, and 5 knockdowns. Sherman Gregg defensed a pass and had an interception! Shawn Andrews had 9 of 10 KRB's and 3 pancakes. Most importantly, no one else was seriously hurt. |

Our first game is at the Giants and I'm going to do something crazy. I'm going to start Sherman Gregg and see what he can do in a real game.
Unfortunately, due to injury Michael Lewis, Devin Hester, Frank McGrath, and Reggie Brown will all miss this game. We'll really miss Michael against this explosive Giants' passing game. My scout who is good with QB's sees Eli as a 92 rated QB who excels in most areas. Sinorce Moss is rated 70/70 and Plaxico is declining but back for another year. Their backs aren't very good, but with the passing game they don't need to be. The offensive line is solid throughout. The defense front 7 is excellent, but their secondary is another matter. They are starting an old Charles Woodson who is very beatable now. Their other corner Daniel Williams is even worse. FS Cornell Hamilton is not any good either. Will Demps is the only defensive back I'm worried about. We'll be splitting time between Westbrook and Alan with Alan earning the start due to his excellent pre-season behind the 2nd string line. |

Alan is stuffed for no gain on the first play. He gains 8 yards on his 2nd carry. Westbrook with a 5 yard run for a first.
A quick pass to Hancock and a run by Alan gains us another 1st. McNabb overthrows Ginn on 2nd and 15. Danny Peterson catches his 1st pass on 3rd and 15 but only for 9 yards. The rookie attempts a 55 yard FG... he makes it!!! 3-0. We force a 3 and out. Sherman Gregg made the tackle a yard short of a 1st on Plaxico Burress. We start on our 7. McNabb to Peterson for 16! McNabb to Baskett for 20 more. McNabb to Ginn for 7, but he takes it another 13 yards. McNabb is marching us down the field with crisp passing. McNabb to Ginn and he gets stopped on the 1. Alan Douglas is stopped for no gain on 1st and goal. Alan with a TD on the next play! 10-0. End of 1: 10-0 Manning ends a long drive with a 43 yard TD pass to Sinorice Moss. 10-7. Back to back penalties kill our next drive, but a great punt starts them on their 2. We force a 3 and out. McNabb with a bomb to Ginn for 47 yards as a key play on our next drive. That gets us inside the 10. Alan Douglas with a 4 yard TD run to end the drive! 17-7. Rookie Willie Davis playing some backup linebacker gets a sack on their next drive, but a facemask on him gives them a 1st. Manning to Sinorice Moss for a 56 yard TD! 17-14. Melvin Bryant drops a 3rd down pass that forces us to punt. We force a 3 and out. We are on our 47 with 1:03 left. McNabb to Smith for 13 yards. McNabb to Baskett for 6. McNabb to Rookie Danny Peterson for a 34 yard TD!!!! Oh my! 7th round pick is playing well! 24-14. Halftime: 24-14, we lead. McNabb is 18 of 21 for 237 yards with a TD so far. Manning with a 43 yard pass to their 3rd string WR. Next play 5 yard TD pass to Sinorce Moss. 24-21. Good kickoff return to get us to our 44. We get stopped on the 34. Paul misses a 51 yard FG attempt. Manning with a 24 yard pass to Plaxico. Manning to Burress for 21 yards. Manning to Burress for another 12. They are on our 1 now. Manning to Travis Meade for a TD. 28-24. 5 minutes left. We get stopped short of midfield. Trent Cole with a good hurry. However, our new S goes down with an injury. End of 3: Down 28-24. We start on the 21. McNabb to Ginn for 18 yards to convert a 3rd and 17. They stop Westbrook on 3rd and 1. Paul misses a 53 yard FG attempt. Travis Meade with a 27 yard run to get them to our 30. A good pass rush forces 3 incomplete passes. Sean Considine is injured on the FG attempt which they make. 31-24. They stop us on their 44, but a penalty on the punt gets us a 1st! They stop us the next 3 plays and we try a 55 yard FG which grazes the post and is just wide right. 4:35 left. We are very thin at S now. Trent Cole goes down with an injury a few plays later Travis Meade with a 13 yard run to convert a 3rd and 9. A few plays later they score a TD. 38-24. A sack and a penalty force us into 3rd and 22. We can't convert it on 3rd or 4th down. They run out the clock. 38-24 loss. Week 1, 2010 played in New York, NY 71 degrees, fair, 8 mph wind

Michael Lewis is now 100%.
Trent Cole is out with a strained calf. He'll miss 1-2 games. Oshiomogho Atogew is out 6 weeks with a pulled calf. The injury situation forces me to make some roster moves as I don't have 6 healthy DL's now and can't play without that. I want to release Pete Uribe, but I can't because he is probable with an injury. As a result, we release Eddie Glover. We sign Ellis Wyms who is a good run stuffing DT. Due to Trent's injury, I'm going to start Sherman Gregg at RDE where his excellent pass rushing skills should be helpful. Eli Manning was the offensive player of the week. Nathan Weaver, RB Den, had the most yardage with 28 carries for 197 yards and 3 TD's. Sinorice Moss led all receivers with 5 catches for 119 yards and 3 TD's. Actually, I thought Ginn had more, but he isn't on the players of the week. Chris Canty, Dal, was the defensive player of the week with 7 tackles and 4.5 sacks. Our next game is hosting Jacksonville. Byron Leftwich is rated 64/64 and is playing well so far. Matt Jones is one of the top WR's in the league. The offensive line is very good on the left side but weak on the right side. Their defense is very solid except for LCB Rashean Mathis who is on the downside of his career. |

Leftwich to Matt Jones for 46 yards to start the drive. Phillip Buchanon intercepts the next pass on our 1 yard line.
Alan Douglas with a 4 yard run and he fumbles it! They recover. We stop them on 2 plays, but Leftwich to David Givens for a TD makes it 7-0. They stop us at midfield. We force a 3 and out. They stop us on the 34. Paul Ricker makes the 51 yard FG. 7-3. End of 1: Down 7-3. Phillip Buchanon intercepts a pass on our 30 and returns it 70 yards for a TD!!!! 10-7. Late in the 2nd, McNabb throws a pick to Dameyion Hughes and he returns it 12 yards for a TD. 14-10. Sean Considine goes down with an injury late in the first half. Danny with a 22 yard punt return to get us the ball on the 29. McNabb to Ginn for 27 yards. Alan Douglas gets stopped on the first 2 runs. 3rd and goal from the 1. Douglas with a TD!!! 17-14 with 30 seconds left in the half. Halftime: Up 17-14. Westbrook with a TD run to make it 24-14. Michael Lewis with a pick. McNabb to Baskett for a 52 yard TD!! 31-14. End of 3: 31-14 and we are driving down the field. Alan and Westbrook are just methodically driving us down the field and eating up clock. The drive ends with a 2 yard TD run by Westbrook. 38-14. 8 minutes left. We force a turnover on downs after stopping them 4 straight plays. A FG makes it 41-14. Game over. 41-14 win. Reggie Brown, Trent Cole, Marion Dukes, Frank McGrath, and Willie Davis are now all 100%.
Sean Considine will miss a few weeks with a pulled groin. This means that Frank McGrath will have to play for us. Carson Palmer was the offensive player of the week with 24 of 30 passing for 392 yards with 4 TD's 0 INT's. Dave Mahoney, ATL, led all rushers with 33 carries for 144 yards and 3 TD's. Our next game is hosting St. Louis. Marc Bulger continues to be a very dangerous passer and he still has good weapons in Torry Holt and Sidney Rice. Steven Jackson is starting to decline, but is still a good back. Their left side of the offensive line is very good, ut the right side is a weakness. Defensively, their front 7 is average but their secondary is below average except for Tye Hill who is a superior cornerback.
They are 2-0 and have blown out Arizona and KC. Their rushing attack is 18th, their passing attack 2nd, and their total offense is 3rd with over 412 YPG. They are scoring 36.5 ppg so far this season. Defensively, they are 11th against the run, 8th against the pass, and 9th overall. However, I think our offense is more dangerous than the other offenses they have faced. |

A great kickoff return starts us on their 45.
Pass to Alan Douglas, he gains 5, he loses the ball! St. Louis recovers. Bunkley with a sack that forced them into a FG attempt. We rough the kicker and give them a 1st on our 21. A few plays later Bulger to Holt for a 8 yard TD. 7-0. Alan and Westbrook each had big runs on our next drive, but they stop us at the 25. Ricker makes the 42 yard FG. 7-3. Bunkley with another sack of Bulger, and Bulger has a minor injury. End of 1: Down 7-3 with the Rams on my 24. Bulger to HOlt for a 13 yard TD. 14-3. We really need to upgrade our secondary. Next year, I'm going for a cornerback with my 1st round pick and might even trade up to get the best one. After failed drives, Danny Peterson with a nice punt return to get us to midfield. He returned it 22 yards. McNabb had a 30 yard pass to Ginn on our next drive and ended it with a 6 yard TD toss to Hancock! 14-10. Jeff Wilkins misses a 53 yard FG attempt, giving us good field position. They stop us on the 39. Paul Ricker connects on the 56 yard FG attempt!!! 14-13. 1:43 left in the half. Kearse with a sack to foce them into 3rd and 15 and he bats the ball down at the line on the next play. Halftime: Down 14-13. Frank McGrath recovers a fumble on their first rush and we have it on their 14. McNabb to Melvin Bryant for a 3 yard TD!! 20-14. We stop them at midfield. Danny Peterson with a 41 yard punt return that is called back for an illegal block. They sack McNabb twice and we punt from deep in our half. Willie Davis our rookie linebacker is hurt late on their drive, but we stopped them on the 6. They kick the short FG to make it 20-17, our lead. Alan Douglas breaks a few tackles and has a 63 yard run to get us inside the 10. A few plays later McNabb with a 2 yard TD scramble. 27-17. End of 3: 27-17 lead for us. We stop them at midfield. A long drive that eats up clock ends with a missed 52 yard FG attempt by Ricker. 5 minutes left. Trent Cole with tremendous pressure had a part in forcing 4 incompletions and a turnover on downs. Daniel Boyd with a 41 yard punt return gets them good field position after we go 3 and out. 2:20 left. Trent Cole with a sack and Sheldon Brown with some good plays to force a 4 and out. Alan Douglas is quickly showing me he is a high risk/high reward guy. He is getting more losses than Westbrook, but he also is breaking some nice runs including a 14 yarder to get us a 1st and run out the clock. Game over. 27-17 win. No significant changes in our injury status except Willie Davis will miss at least a game. This means more snaps for Sherman Gregg.
JaMarcus Russell is starting for Atlanta now and he completed 19 of 38 passes for 221 yards with a TD no interceptions in a win for them. Peyton Manning was the offensive player of the week with 29 of 34 passing for 368 yards with 3 TD's 0 INT's. Alan Douglas led all backs in rushing yardage this week. Reggie Wayne had 11 catches for 158 yards and a TD for the Colts. Aaron Schobel, DE Buf, was the defensive player of the week with 7 tackles and 4.5 sacks. Our next game is hosting Minnesota. Kyle Wright has been hurt the first few games so Kelly Holcomb has been starting for them. With him as the starter the last 2 games, they are 1-2. Their rushing attack is 8th with Chester Taylor being the main back. Their passing attack is 29th. Overall, their offense is 23rd. They are 24th in points scored (16.7 ppg) Defensively, they are 10th against the run with a solid front 7. They are 2nd against the pass. Overall, their defense is 2nd. They are 9th in points allowed per game (16.7) |

A good kick return by David Darling starts us on the 41.
Alan Douglas with a 25 yard scamper on the first carry. A 24 yard pass to LJ Smith gets us quickly inside their 10. Alan Douglas loses yardage on the next 2 carries, but McNabb hits Baskett for a 10 yard TD! 7-0. Reggie Brown recovers a fumble on the kickoff! McNabb to Ginn for 19 yards get us to their 3. Westbrook with a 1 yard TD run 2 plays later! 14-0. Kyle Wright is starting again today. But, we force a 3 and out. McNabb dinks and dunks and our backs run it all the way down the field until McNabb hits Baskett for a 22 yard gain to get to the 1. Next play is a 1 yard TD pass to Alan Douglas! 21-0. Wright with a 51 yard pass to Travis Bronson. A few plays later Chester Taylor runs it in for a TD. 21-7. End of 1: Up 21-7. McNabb throws his first incompletion on his 11th pass. McNabb throws a pick to Antoine Winfield on their 4. Dhani Jones is down with an injury midway through their drive. They drive down most of the field, but Michael Lewis intercepts it. Alan Douglas catches a screen and fumbles it. Minnesota recovers on our 9. A few plays later Marshawn Lynch runs it in for a TD. 21-14. Victor Askey with an interception on their next drive and he returns it 53 yards for a TD!!!! 28-14. He's only playing some DB because of injuries. He might just have bought himself another look. Halftime: 28-14, we lead. McNabb is sacked on our next drive by Albert Haynesworth and he fumbles it. Minnesota recovers. We force a 3 and out thanks to a Michael Lewis sack. Danny Peterson with a nice punt return. Ginn recovers a Bryant fumble on our next drive to keep it going. 2 plyas later McNabb to LJ for a 17 yard TD! 35-14. End of 3: We are up 35-14 and they are punting to us. We end a long time consuming drive with a short FG. 38-14. 5 minutes left in the game. Trent Cole with a sack for 8 yards. They go for it on 4th and 16 and we stop them 3 yards short. Paul misses a 39 yard FG attempt. We force another turnover on downs and run out the clock. 38-14 win for us. Tom Brady was the offensive player of the week with 27 of 44 passing for 292 yards with 3 TD's.
Dave Mahone, Atlanta, led all backs with 40 carries for 199 yards and a TD. Steve Smith ahd 8 catches for 141 yards and a TD. Ernie Sims had 13 tackles, 3 assists, and 2 sacks to win defensive player of the week. This week we host Detroit. They are led by Brady Quinn who is rated 52/70 by my scout who is very good with QB's. His biggest strength is timing and his biggest weakness is sense rush (only 18) Last year he completed 62% of his passes for 3751 yards with 18 TD's 15 INT's. This year he is 73 of 116 (63%) for 825 yards with 6 TD's 2 INT's. He is being helped greatly by their 1st round pick (3rd overall) Billy Joe Kornegay. Billy Joe doesn't have the elusiveness of my rookie back but he has great breakaway speed, great power inside and excellent hole recognition. So far, he has 77 carries for 312 yards (4.05) with 1 TD. Roy williams is a top tier WR and Deion Branch is a good #2 although he is in decline. The offensive line is weak except for their C. The defense is solid at every position with Shaun Rogers standing out at DT, Ernie Sims standing out at WLB, and Rob Snyder standing out at CB. They are 3-1 and have beat GBY, Arizona, and Dallas. They lost to NE 23-21. Their rushing attack is 8th. Tehir passing attack is 20th. Overall, their offense is 14th. They are 7th in points scored per game and 3rd in turnover margin. Defensively, they are 3rd against the run, 23rd against the pass, and 10th overall. They are 11th in allowed points. |

Kornegay with an injury on the play, but he should be able to play. Sheesh. Kornegay with a 92 yard TD run on the first play of their next drive. 21-7. End of 1: Down 21-7. Defense dominates the first half ot the 2nd quarter. Danny Peterson with a good punt return starts us on their 31. 1 minute left in the half. Baskett drops a TD pass. McNabb to Danny Peterson for 18 yards. Alan Douglas with a 7 yard run then a 6 yard TD run! 21-14. Halftime: Down 21-14. We force a 3 and out to get the ball back. Alan Douglas fumbles twice on pass receptions! We recover both times. Bernard Barrian drops a TD pass. We settle for a FG. 21-17. Sherman Gregg with a tackle for a loss on their 1st play. A defensive holding call stops them from going 3 and out. We stop them at our 40. End of 3: Down 21-7. We have the ball on their 45. Offensive holding pushes us back into a 3rd and 20. We fail to convert and punt. 13 minutes left. We force a 3 and out. They force a 3 and out. We quickly get the ball back. They force a 3 and out. We stop them at midfield finally, but there is now only 2:18 left. We are on our 20. Ginn drops a bomb. Ginn drops another pass. A holding call pushes us into 3rd and 20. Two more incompletes and we turn it over on downs. We use our timeouts and hold them to a FG. 24-17. We are on our 20 with 1:08 left. 14 yard pass to Berian. 14 yard pass to Westbrook. Spike the ball with 20 seconds left. Incomplete bomb. Incomplete bomb intended for Westbrook. Game over. 24-17 loss. Week 5, 2010 played in Philadelphia, PA 66 degrees, rain, 7 mph wind

Winston Justice with another minor knee injury. I'm not going to risk him again this time. He will sit for a few weeks.
Dhani Jones will try to play through a pulled groin. I'm going to let Todd Herremans start at RT as he has some ability there, but we need to get a new T in the off-season to develop behind Justice and Brown. Aaron Rodgers was the offensive player of the week with 24 of 31 passing for 284 yards with 3 TD's 1 INT. Quinn Walker had 46 carries for 178 yards and 2 TD's for Arizona. Travis Bronson, the 4th overall pick this year, led all receivers with 10 catches for 171 yards and a TD for Minnesota. Michael Haynes, DE SD, had 5 tackles and 3 sacks to win the defensive player of the week. Our next game is at Green Bay. Green Bay is relying on Adrian Peterson as their primary back, but he has been injury prone and Wali Lundy has had to play quite a bit. As a result, the rushing offense has suffered and is 24th in the league. Their passing attack is 11th behind Aaron Rodgers but he has thrown 6 TD's vs 8 INT's this year and while he is getting a lot of yards, he is also fumbling to create too many turnovers. Despite this, they are 3-2 thanks to a solid defense that is 5th against the run and 26th against the pass in yardage but 4th in completion percentage allowed. They are only allowing 17 ppg which is 8th in the NFL. A.J. Hawk and Gilbert Gardner are the main components in the defense as they anchor an outstanding linebacker corp. |

Adrian Peterson and Wali Lundy ran the ball very well on the 1st drive and Aaron Rodgers scrambled to convert a 3rd and 7. Lundy ended the drive with a 2 yard TD run. GB had 55 yards on the ground on this drive. 7-0.
They force a 3 and out. Trent Cole with a sack that forces them into 3rd and 17. That led to a 3 and out. A good punt return starts us in their half. Douglas fumbles on their 20 and they recover. 1st play, Rodgers to Marty Booker for 25 yards. End of 1: 7-0, we are down, and GB is on our 21. Trent Cole and Kearse with back to back sacks to force them into a FG attempt which they make. 10-0. Ginn catches a short pass, breaks two tackles and makes it into a 46 yard gain! A few plays later, McNabb connects with Danny Peterson, the rookie, for a 4 yard TD. 10-7. Aaron Rodgers shreds our defense to drive them down the field quickly. The drive ends with an Adrian Peterson rushing TD. 17-7. Halftime: Down 17-7. Alan Douglas breaks off a 75 yard run to start the half! 17-14. Our next drive is stopped on the 2 yard line and we settle for a short FG. 17-17. GBY with a drive that mostly gained yards on the ground makes it 24-17. We go 3 and out. End of 3: 24-17, we are down. Omar Gaither just had a sack to end their drive. Trent Cole with another key sack midway through the 4th quarter. That gets us the ball with 7 minutes left. They stop Westbrook for no gain on his 1st run and on a pass on 3rd down. We go 3 and out. Adrian Peterson with a fumble, which we recover on their 34. 2 incomplete passes and then a facemask cause us to fail to get a 1st. They are on their 8 with 4 minutes left. WE hold them to 3 and out, but there is now only 2:21 left. Lito Sheppard with a 17 yard punt return to start us on the 50. Marion Dukes gives up a sack on 1st down. McNab overthrows on 2nd down. 4 yard gain forces us into 4th and 13. McNabb overthrows on 4th down. They get the ball. McCoy forces a fumble.. we recover! 1:19 left. McNabb with a scramble to get us to their 39. 1:03 left. 3 incomplete passes where McNabb was under heavy pressure. A pass to Ginn on 4th down is well defended and they get the ball back. Game over. 24-17 loss. Our offensive line didn't give McNabb much time. Week 6, 2010 played in Green Bay, WI 49 degrees, fair, 12 mph wind

Sean Considine is finally 100% which will significantly help our defense.
Jerome McDougle and Willie Davis are also 100% now. Peyton Manning was the offensive player of the week with 37 of 51 passing for 343 yards with 2 TD's 0 INT's. Reggie Bush led all backs with 32 carries for 177 yards and 3 TD's. Matt Jones had 7 catches for 168 yards and a TD. Trent Cole was the defensive player of the week with his 7 tackles, 2 assists, and 3 sacks. This week we play at Washington in a key matchup. We are 3-3 and Washington is 1st in the NFC East at 3-2. They have beat Houston, GB, and Chicago while losing to SF and Dallas. Their rushing offense is 20th, their pass offense is 8th as Jason Campbell is moving them well. However, Campbell only has 8 TD's vs 5 INT's. Defensively, they are very solid with the #2 run defense and the 19th pass defense for the 10th best defense overall. |

Our first drive was ended by our line giving up too much pressure.
Trent Cole had 2 sacks to end their first drive short of midfield. NO! Ginn goes down late in our 2nd drive. Hopefully, it isn't serious. McNabb to Westbrook for a 9 yard TD. 7-0. End of 1: Up 7-0. They are on our 30. We stop them at the 4, despite Campbell going 6 of 6 on this drive. They kick the short FG. 7-3. With Ginn down, Danny Peterson is in our 2 WR sets at SE. He has several catches on our next drive. Still, we settle for a 28 yard FG. 10-3. 43 yard FG makes it 10-6 with just under 3 minutes left in the half. Paul Ricker with a 53 yard FG late in the half to make it 13-6, our lead. Halftime: 13-6. McNabb is 14 of 17 for 137 yards so far. We stop them on their 1st drive, but Alan Douglas fumbles it on our 1st drive of the 2nd half and they get it right back on our 38. 2 plays later, we force a Campbell fumble and Kearse recovers it. Ricker with a 50 yard FG to end our short drive. 16-6. Our next drive, Alan Douglas has a few good runs and we end it with a 42 yard TD pass from McNabb to Danny Peterson! The late round pick is really performing well! 23-6. We force a 3 and out. Later in the 3rd, Sean Considine suffers an injury that appears to be minor. End of 3: We are up 23-6. Early in the 4th, Alan Douglas has his 2nd fumble of the day. They recover it again. They get to our 1, where we stop them 4 plays in a row! Sherman Gregg had a key hurry and 2 tackles on this stand! Sherman Gregg with a pass defensed on the 1st play of their next drive. I think this project might be starting to develop. We force a turnover on downs. 4:33 left. Douglas anad Westbrook with some nice runs to drive down the field, but Ricker misses this FG attempt from 48 yards. Game over. 23-6 win for us. Early word is that Ginn has a hip pointer and will miss at least a game or two and possibly 5 or 6. Week 7, 2010 played in Washington, DC 49 degrees, fair, 1 mph wind

Ginn will definitely miss a few games as the risk of re-injury is significant. This will lead to Bernard Berrian starting at FL and will equal more opportunities for Danny Peterson as the #3 receiver. Devard Darling will be the #4 receiver and Reggie Brown who is slightly hurt will be our #5.
Brady Quinn was the offensive player of the week as he completed 23 of 30 passes for 360 yards with 4 TD's 0 INT's for Detroit. Ronnie Brown led all backs with 31 carries for 206 yards and 2 TD's. Steve Smith had 9 catches for 173 yards and a TD. Rodrique Wright, DT Miami, was the defensive player of the week with 9 tackles and 2.5 sacks. We have a bye this upcoming week. |

Chad Johnson led all receivers with 8 catches for 161 yards and a TD. Bryce Fisher, DE Sea, won defensive player of the week with 4 tackles and 2.5 sacks. Next up we play at Chicago. Brant Eleazer has taken over as their featured back and he is quite shifty. Kyle Orton has developed into a solid starting QB. The right side of their offensive line is a big weakness. Defensively, they are very solid excpet for MLB where Hunter Harper has had a hard time taking over for Urlacher. Nathan Vasher and Charles Tillman are an excellent cornerback duo. |

Offensive Holding negates a 29 yard TD run by Alan Douglas. Instead we end up punting as we are unable to convert the resulting 3rd and 11.
We stop their HB on 3rd and 1 and force a 3 and out. A balanced 50 yard drive ends with a 2 yard TD pass to LJ Smith. 7-0. We force another 3 and out. End of 1: Up 7-0 with the ball on our 41. Melvin Bryant leaves the game with an injury early in the 2nd. 20 yard pass to Darling followed by a 19 yard TD run by Alan Douglas provide an explosive end to our 2nd drive. 14-0. Offensive holding negates their 1st 1st down of the game, and we force another 3 and out. After exchanging failed drives, we put together a lengthy drive that ends in an 8 yard TD pass to Darling. 21-0. 3:14 left. Colby Bockwoldt intercpets Orton's 3rd pass of the game and returns it to their 20. Alan Douglas with his 6th catch of the day. We settle for a short FG as he can't get the 1st. 24-0. Halftime: Up 24-0. We've only given up 22 yards passing and 40 yards rushing in the 1st half. Chicago with a FG midway through the 3rd. 24-3. We respond with a FG on our next drive. 27-3. Our next drive stalls on the 9, and Ricker makes it 30-3. 1:55 left in the 3rd. We force yet another 3 and out. Douglas catches his 10th pass of the day. End of 3: 30-3, we lead. We have it on our 29. Omar Gaither goes down early in the 4th. That is one guy I really can't afford to lose. They stop us on the 1, and we kick a short FG to make it 33-3. Ricker is hurt on the play They put together a meaningless long drive late but run out of time on our 5. 33-3 win for us. Week 9, 2010 played in Chicago, IL 31 degrees, fair, 10 mph wind

Omar Gaither is out for a few weeks with a pulled quad.
Melvin Bryant is out with a sprained knee. Ginn will miss at least 1 more game. Ricker has a bruised ribcage and will be able to play. Winston Justice is now 100%. Due to Omar's injury, Bockwoldt will start at MLB with Doane backing him up. Sherman Gregg will get a chance to start at SLB. Jay Cutler, Den, was the offensive player of the week with 25 of 40 passing for 299 yards with 4 TD's 0 INT's. Reggie Bus led all backs with 26 carries for 119 yards and 2 TD's. Troy Williamson, Minn, had 11 catches for 195 yards and 2 TD's. Sherman Gregg was an honorable mentipon for defensive player of the week. Shawne Merriman won defensive player of the week with 13 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 interception, and 3 passes defensed. Next up, we play the Giants at home. Eli Manning is questionable due to a minor knee injury. Last game, Irv Plenus, their 4th round pick in this draft started and played well in a win, but he suffered a concussion. They still have an excellent receiving corp, but the right side of their offensive line is horrendous due in part to injuries to starters. Defensively, they are very solid in the front 7, but weak in the secondary with the exception of S Will Demps. |

We went for it on 4th and 1 at the 50 on our first drive and converted it. That led to a long time consuming drive that ended with a 10 yard TD pass to Westbrook. 7-0.
That drive used up almost 8 minutes. Plenus is starting! We force a 3 and out. Defenses dominate the rest of the 1st. End of 1: 7-0, Giants with the ball on their 39. Considine intercepts their next pass and returns it 40 yards to their 25! McNabb ends the short drive with a 8 yard TD pass to Danny Peterson. 14-0. Travis Meade fumbles and Bunkley recovers. We start on our 46. Ricker misses a 50 yard FG attempt. Michael Lewis intercepts the 1st pass of their drive. Shawn Andrews goes down with an injury and we fail to convert a 3rd and 16. On our next drive, Alan Douglas fumbles deep in our half and they recover on our 14. Trent Cole with a sack on 3rd down and we hold them to a 35 yard FG attempt which they miss. Douglas with a 16 yard run on the 1st play of our drive. He certainly has some moves. McNabb to LJ Smith for a 53 yard gain gets us to their 6. They stop us on the 2 and Ricker hits the short FG. 17-0. Halftime: 17-0 lead. We've held them to 51 yards running and 25 yards passing. We force a 3 and out to start the half. 2 offensive holding calls in a row push us back into 1st and 30. Another holding call pushes us back into 2nd and 40. Not surprisingly we end up punting 2 plays later. Sage Rosenfels comes in as Plenius aggrevates his concussion. End of 3: 17-0 but the Giants are about to attempt a short FG. 17-3 after the short FG. Our next drive is marked by several 10 plus yard runs. However, it stalls inside the red zone. A 32 yard FG makes it 20-3. 9:12 left in the game. We force a 4 and out as they fail to convert 4th and 3. Todd Herremans goes down with an injury and that is very costly if Shawn can't come back. Ricker with a FG to make it 23-3. We force a 4 and out. Sherman Gregg with a nice sack on 4th down. A defensive holding actually gives them a 1st. We stop them on the next 4 plays. Ricker with a 44 yard FG to make it 26-3. 2:18 left in the game. Frank McGrath intercepts a deep pass. He returns it to our 36. 26-3 win for us. Litto Sheppard is out for 4-5 weeks with a strained abductor muscle.
Shawn Andrews is out for 3-4 weeks with a hyperextended knee. Todd Herremans has a strained hamstring, but I'm going to ask him to play at RG through the pain. Ginn might be back next week. Carson Palmer was the offensive player of the week with 25 of 35 passing for 304 yards with 4 TD's 0 INT's. Laurence Maroney had 24 carries for 153 yards and a TD. Chad Johnson had 9 catches for 190 yards and 2 TD's. Terrell Suggs, DE Bal, was the defensive player of the week with 6 tackles, 1 assist, and 2.5 sacks. Our next game is at Dallas. Dallas has been hit hard by injuries this year. As a result, they are 4-5. Julius Jones is running well, but the rush offense is still 17th in the league. Daunte Culpepper was hurt early and Chad Pennington has been the starter most of the year. He has had accuracy problems and is 94 of 180 for 1053 yards with 4 TD's 7 INT's. The passing offense is 32nd in the league. Terrell Owens has been hurt parts of the year and is doubtful for this game. Defensively, they still remain formidable and that is the key to their wins. Their run defense is 4th. Their pass defense is 6th and they are 2nd overall. Their 14.1 ppg allowed is 3rd in the league. |

Both defenses force a 3 and out to start the game.
Trotter with a vicious tackle on McNabb in the redzone. Darn Cowboy. That forces us to settle for a FG. 3-0. Dallas with a long methodical drive that ends in a TD. 7-3. Alan Douglas fumbles the ball on a carry and Dallas recovers on our 16. End of 1: Down 7-3, Dallas has the ball. Pennington to Cary Farr for 12 yards and a TD. 14-3. Douglas with a 12 yard run on his 1st carry of our next drive. Bobby Carpentar with a sack and he forces McNabb to fumble. Carpenter recovers it too. Pennington to Randall Keith for a 24 yard TD makes it 21-3, Dallas. McNabb to Darling for 25 yards to start our drive. We quickly march down the field into their 5. Douglas ends the drive with a 3 yard TD run. 21-10. We stop them at midfield, but a roughing the kicker gives them a 1st. Pennington with another TD pass to make it 28-10 just before the 2 minute warning. Halftime: Down 28-10. Dallas starts the half with the ball. Pennington with a minor injury sufered on their first pass. We stop them at midfield and force a punt. Danny Peterson drops 2 passes in a row and McNabb is hurried on 3rd down and we end up punting. McNabb with a 22 yard pass to Peterson on our next drive. However, the next few passes were incomplete. We end up punting. Only 6 minutes left in the 3rd. End of 3: Down 28-10. We have it on our 19. McNabb is sacked for the 4th time today. They are getting tremendous pressure from their front 7. DeMarcus Ware with yet another sack on McNabb on our next drive. Roy Williams with an interception of a deep McNabb pass late in the 4th seals our fate in this game. Game over. 28-10 loss. Week 11, 2010 played in Dallas, TX 70 degrees, fair, calm

No significant changes in our injury report. Ginn will miss 1 more game.
Vince Young was the offensive player of the week as he completed 19 of 23 passes for 333 yards and 5 TD's 0 INT's. He also had 4 carries for 27 yards. Jerious Norwood had 32 carries for 126 yards. Dwayne Jarrett had 11 catches for 185 yards and a TD for the Colts. Dwan Edwards, DE Bal, was the defensive player of the week with 8 tackles and 6 sacks! Our next game is at Tennessee. Vince Young is still somewhat raw according to our scouts, but he had a great year last year and he is starting to shine this year. He is 210 of 309 (68%) for 2412 yards with 15 TD's and 7 INT's. Lendale White is a very solid running back who has 1212 yards last year and in 8 games this year has 135 carries for 520 yards with 3 TD's. However, LenDale was hurt last game and will miss this game. Alfred Greer has become one of the best WR's in the league. He is averaging over 17 ypc. Byron Humphries is an excellent complimentary receiver. The offensive line is solid at all positions. Defensively, they are very solid with Dt Randy Starks being a standout. CB Heath Joseph is the biggest weakness on the defense. |

We force a 3 and out to start the game.
Our first drive ends with a long FG. 3-0. A sack of Young on 1st down pushes them into 2nd and 16. That helps us force a 3 and out. Darling with a huge gain after the catch to make a 28 yard play to keep our drive going. The drive ends with a 12 yard TD run by Alan Douglas. 10-0. We intercept Young's first pass of this drive. That starts us on their 43. End of 1: Up 10-0 and on their 2. Alan Douglas with a 3 yard TD run. 17-0. Colby tackles their HB and forces a fumble which Sheldon Brown recovers on their 16. Their defense holds stout and Ricker kicks a 28 yard FG. 20-0. Young with a 3 yard run. Young with 2 completions but they only cover 5 yards. They have to punt. We force them to punt fairly quickly again. We get the ball back with just under 2 minutes in the half. McNabb quickly moves us down the field. We get inside the 10 when time is too short and we just kick the FG. 23-0. Halftime: 23-0, we lead. We've held them to 20 yards running and 63 yards passing. McNabb is 21 of 27 for 150 yards at the half. Our first drive of the half is stopped at their 34. Ricker just barely pushes the kick wide right. Vince Young with some nice passes to drive them inside our 10 and to the 6. Curtis Pollinger with a 6 yard TD run. 23-7. 4:33 left in the 3rd. End of 3: 23-7, we lead and they are punting to us. After Ricker misses a long FG attempt, Young finds Greer for a 34 yard gain. However, we hold them to a 44 yard FG. 23-10. Late in the 4th, we force a turnover on downs on their 25. We run the ball for 2 first downs and then just take a knee on the 5. 23-10 win for us. Week 12, 2010 played in Tennessee, TN 31 degrees, snow, 6 mph wind

Ginn is now 100%.
Winston Justice hyperextended his knee again and will miss 1 or 2 games. Phillip Buchanon sprained his knee and is questionable. I'm going to ask him to try to work through it. Luther Doane is out with a strained calf and Omar is still hurt from his injury so Colby will be playing almost exclusively at MLB now. Marc Bulger was the offensive player of the week with 20 of 32 passing for 249 yards with 5 TD's and 0 INT's. Jerious Norwood had 34 carries for 200 yards. Sinorice Moss had 5 catches for 147 yards. Aaron Schobel, DE Buf, was the defensive player of the week with 6 tackles and 4 sacks. Our next game is at Atlanta. They gave up on Michael Vick last off season and are starting Austin Duncan now. Duncan is the 5th overall pick in 2008 and our scouts believe he has a bright future. He is rated 40/73 right now by our scouts and has excellent potential in accuracy. He started 9 games last year and was below average, but this year in 5 starts (he was injured a few games) he is 61 of 104 (59%) for 747 yards with 6 TD's and 6 INT's. Jerious Norwood is a quick back who hits the holes well. He had 1435 yards 2 years ago, but had an off year last year. This year has 203 carries for 744 yards and 2 TD's. Michael Jenkins is their #1 receiver and he isn't doing that well this year. He has 34 catches for 468 yards with 10 drops. The offensive line is solid with RT Khalif Barnes being the standout. The front 7 is very solid. With the exception of DeAngelo Hall who is a shutdown corner, the secondary is weak. |

Alan Douglas had a few good runs on our first drive which ends with a 6 yard TD run by Alan Douglas.
Sherman Gregg defends their first pass. We force a 3 and out. Ginn with his first catch of the game early in our drive. Douglas takes a short flare pass for 22 yards. As he develops as a running back and gets more experience, I can see him being really dangerous out of the backfield on those short passes. The drive ends with a 10 yard TD pass to Baskett. 14-0. End of 1: Up 14-0. Austin Duncan with a nice drive to answer as he leads them down the field. Norwood finishes it with a 22 yard TD run. 14-7. McNabb is sacked on our 36 and he fumbles. Atlanta recovers. Sheldon Brown looks woozy. Considine suffers a foot injury the next play. Norwood pounds it in for a TD. 14-14. Reggie Brown with a 71 yard kickoff return to get to their 17. McNabb to Ginn for 16. Douglas is stopped on 2 runs for a loss each time. McNabb overthrows his man on 3rd down. We settle for a short FG. 17-14. 3 and out for Atlanta. 2 minutes left in the half. Ricker with a 57 yard FG!!! 20-14. 1:20 left in the half. Austin leads them down the field for a last second FG except they run out of time on the 12! Halftime: Up 20-14. McNabb is 14 of 18 for 154 yards so far. Our first drive ends in a missed 43 yard FG attempt. Kynan Forney of Atlanta suffers a very serious leg injury during their drive midway through the 3rd, but they score a TD to make it 21-20. Levi Brown is hurt on our 3rd down play and we don't convert the 3rd either. We force a 3 and out. Ricker connects on a 52 yard FG to give us the lead, 23-21. End of 3: Up 23-21. They have the ball on their 24. We stuff Norwood on 3rd and 1 to force a punt. Midway through the 4th, DeAngelo Hall suffers a serious foot injury. Considine with an interception on our 27 to end a scoring threat. He returns it 19 yards to our 46. 5 minutes left. They force us to go 3 and out. Our punter pins them on their 6. Austin with a 21 yard pass to Roddy White to convert 4th and 13 from their 32. They are on our 28 now with 1:07 left, down by 2 points. We stop them for no gain on the next 2 plays. Bunkley sacks the QB on 3rd down. He forces a fumble! Norwood recovers. They attempt a 50 yard FG... it's wide right! We run out the clock. We win 23-21. Week 13, 2010 played in Atlanta, GA 68 degrees, fair, calm

DeAngelo Hall suffered a broken foot and will miss the rest of the season for the Falcons. Also, Kynan Forney, their starting LG has a compound leg fracture and his season is over.
Levi Brown will miss a few weeks with a strained calf. Drew Brees, NO, was the offensive player of the week with 18 of 26 passing for 318 yards and 3 TD's. Ronnie Brown had 31 carries for 178 yards and a TD. Torry Holt had 9 catches for 187 yards and a TD. Travis LaBoy, DE Ten, was the defensive player of the week with 8 tackles and 3 sacks. Standings: Our 8-4 record is 1st in the NFC East. Dallas is 7-5. Washington and the Giants are both 5-7. Detroit and GB are 9-3 in the NFC North. Minnesota is 6-6 and Chicago is 2-10. New Orleans is the clear #1 seed so far with a 11-1 record which is best in the NFL. Atlanta is 2nd in the South with a 5-7 record. The Rams are 8-4. SF and Seattle are 6-6. Arizona is 2-10 as Leinart has struggled bad with 7 TD's and 17 INT's. Our next game is at 3-9 Houston. David Carr has played well with 204 of 351 passing for 2662 yards and 18 TD's vs 10 INT's. However, the rushing attack is only 20th and they are only scoring 17.3 ppg which is 25th. Their run defense is 20th. Their pass defense is 31st as their secondary has been hurt most of the year. However, they are healthier than they have been all year. They are giving up 29 ppg which is 32nd in the league. |

Colby intercepts David Carr's second pass and returns it 27 yards to their 45.
McNabb is sacked on our 1st play. He fumbles. Houston recovers. Midway through the 1st, Jimmie Floyd with a 38 yard FG to make it 3-0, Houston. Alan Douglas with a nice 21 yard run to start our drive. However, we get stopped at midfield. End of 1: Down 3-0, but we are on their 38. Ricker with a 47 yard FG to tie it up 3-3. After several failed drives by each side, Cory Reel finishes a balanced drive with a 2 yard TD run. 10-3. Mario Williams is hurt early during our next drive. Alan Douglas fumbles a short screen pass and Houston recovers to end our drive. 2 minutes left in the half. Colby with a big sack that forces a fumble, Trent Cole recovers on their 23! 1:30 left. An illegal chop block pushes us into 3rd and 25. The 55 yard FG attempt is blocked and Houston returns it to our 47. Colby with good pass defense and Cole with pressure force them into a 3 and out. We drive down the field quickly, but time runs out. Halftime: Down 10-3. McNabb's first pass is picked off and returned to our 12. Next play, Carr to Jerome Mathis for a TD. 17-3. Their next drive, Houston misses a short FG. McNabb to Ginn for 28 yards to get us to their 43 on the first play after the missed FG. However, they stop us at the 40. We punt and pin them on the 2. Sheldon Brown has a concussion and is going to miss a week or two which means we may have our top 3 cornerbacks out that week. However, I'm going to try to rush Lito Sheppard back.
Peyton Manning was the offensive player of the week with 27 of 34 passing for 354 yards with 2 TD's 1 INT. Julius Jones had 31 carries for 159 yards and 3 TD's. Plaxico Burress had 7 catches for 150 yards and a TD. Darnell Bing, S Oak, was the defensive player of the week with 7 tackles, 4 assists, 1 sack, and 3 interceptions. We are now tied at 8-5 with Dallas for the Division Lead. Our next game is hosting Dallas. Dallas has turned their starting job over to Chad Pennington who played well enough to keep it. Chad has completed 146 of 240 passes for 1571 yards with 10 TD's 6 INT's this year which is 32nd in the NFL in yardage. However, the rushing attack is 3rd in part due to Julius Jones who has 229 carries for 1002 yards and 8 TD's. Their 20.8 ppg is 16th in the NFL. Defensively, they are 5th against the run, 2nd against the pass, and 1st overall. Roy Williams leads the team in tackles and interceptions with 5. They are only allowing 13.8 ppg which is 1st in the NFL. Levi Brown is still out and we are starting a young poor RT and Levi Brown at LT. |

McNabb's leads us on a great drive that ends with him fumbling on a scramble.
Good defense stops them short of midfield. Very short passing is helping us move the ball well. Douglas is also making some big runs. End of 1: 0-0, we are on their 3 and have a 1st down. McNabb to Smith for a 3 yard TD! 7-0. Kearse sacks Pennington and forces a fumble. Trent Cole recovers on their 23. Illegal use of the hands negates a TD and forces us to settle for a 32 yard FG attempt which Ricker misses. Kearse with another sack to push them into 3rd and 15 which Pennington converts with a nice pass. Next play, we force one of their receivers to fumble and Considine recovers it on their 40. Offensive Holding forces us into 3rd and 12 which we can't convert. We force a quick punt. On our 43 with 4:28 left. McNabb throws a pick to DeMarcus Ware who returns it to our 28. Pennington to Milusicak for a 9 yard TD. 7-7. 1:53 left. Berrian drops a deep pass and we end up punting. 1 minute left. Just before halftime Alan Douglas gets crushed and has to leave the game with an injury. Halftime: 7-7. Lito Sheppard picks off the ball at our 29 and returns it to our 45. Guess, he still has something left in the tank DeMarcus Ware with a sack and forced fumble. Dallas recovers. Dallas takes advantage of the short field to quickly march down the field ending in a TD pass to Jeff Springer. 14-7. 7:50 left in the 3rd. Defenses dominate the rest of the 3rd. End of 3: 14-7, Dallas leads. Dallas with the ball on our 48. We stop them on the next few plays and force a punt. Start on our 15. Baskett drops a 3rd down pass that would have given us a 1st. We go 3 and out. Kearse with another sack that forces them to go 3 and out. A good punt return starts us on our 45. Chris Canty sacks McNabb on 1st down. Canty knocks it down on 2nd. Ware knocks it down on 3rd. We punt. We stop them at midfield, but they used a lot of clock. We are on our 19 with 4:23 left. Canty with another sack to force us into 3rd and 14. Incomplete pass on 3rd down and we punt. 3:12 and they are on their 47. We can't stop Vince Hawkins from running for 8 yards on 3rd and 7. That first down will be a time killer. Surprisingly, they throw it and Buchanaon picks it off! We are on our 12 with 1:55 left. McNabb to Danny Peterson for 42 yards! McNabb to Baskett for 24! Now on their 22. Pass interference gets us to their 5! 44 seconds left. McNabb throws a pick in the endzone to D.J. Wolfe. Game over. 14-7 loss Week 15, 2010 played in Philadelphia, PA 41 degrees, rain, 15 mph wind

Phillip Buchanon, Lito Sheppard, LJ Smith, Shawn Andrews, Sean Considine, and Omar Gaither are now all 100%.
Sheldon Brown is out for 1 more week with his concussion. Devin Hester should be ready to go next week. Levi Brown will be ready in a week or 2. Alan Douglas has a strained foot ligament and will miss the rest of the regular season. Carson Palmer was the offensive player of the week with 23 of 31 passing for 328 yards with 2 TD's 0 INT's. Jerious Norwood had 37 carries for 203 yards and a TD. Dwayne Jarrett had 7 catches for 127 yards and 2 TD's. Kearse was the defensive player of the week with 5 tackles, 1 assist, and 3 sacks. Our 8-6 record has us in the 2nd wildcard slot. Detroit or GB is going to get the #1 wild card slot most likely. At 8-6 we are at the top for the 2nd wildcard. SF is our biggest threat at 7-7. There are several 6-8 teams. Our next game is hosting Indianapolis which is 10-4 and has a prolific passing offense along with a solid rushing attack. Their defense is 16th overall. |

McNabb with a long pass to Ginn for 32 yards to start the drive. Scottie Abe with a nice 9 yard run.
McNabb to Baskett for a 15 yard TD! 7-0. We stuff Willie Parker on his 1st run. Manning to Jarrett for 22 yards on the next play. Brian Leonard with a 7 yard reception to convert a 3rd and 1. Westbrook with a 37 yard TD run! 14-0. 2:49 left in the 1st. Colby with a nice sack to force a 3rd and 10. Manning to Wayne but Sheppard tackles him short of the 1st and they punt. McNabb with crisp passing to drive down the field ending in a 3 yard TD pass to Scottie Abe! 21-0. Ltio Sheppard intercepts it on their 45 and returns it to their 27. I'm shocked how well our defense is playing right now. We fail to convert a 3rd and 3. Ricker makes the FG to make it 24-0. We force them to punt inside their own half and quickly start marching down the field again. McNabb is 17 of 17 so far. We get stopped on their 1. A bad snap leads to a missed 18 yard FG attempt! Halftime: 24-0. McNabb is 19 of 19 for 189 yards at the half! We stop them at midfield and force a punt. Offensive Holding forces us into 3rd and 12 which we can't convert. McNabb is 21 of 21 so far. Manning to Jarrett for 20 yards to drive into our half. We stop them at our 33. Dexter Johnson misses the 50 yard FG attempt. McNabb to Berrian for a 10 yard TD to end a great drive! 31-0. McNabb is now 23 of 23! They fumble the kickoff return! We fail to convert a 3rd and 2, but Ricker makes the 40 yard FG. 34-0. McNabb is now 25 of 25. We force a 3 and out. End of 3: 34-0. McNabb is now 27 of 27. We end up punting. Willie Parker starts their drive with a 46 yard run. Indianapolis with a few good passes to get inside our redzone. Manning to Wayne for a 19 yard TD. 34-7. 7:09 left. Sherman Gregg recovers the onside kick. Sam Kellar comes in by our coaches' choice. McNabb ends with the day with a 100% completion percentage! Sheldon Brown, Devin Hester, and Luther Doane are all 100% now.
Levi Brown will be ready for the playoffs. Alan Douglas is out for at least 1 more week. McNabb was the player of the Week. Westbrook led all backs with 22 carries for 122 yards and a TD. Matt Jones had 10 catches for 192 yards and 2 TD's. DE Bryce Fisher, Sea, was the defensive player of the week with 4 tackles and 3 sacks. Dallas won and remains a game ahead of us for the division. Their last game is hosting the Giants. If we win, we guarantee the last playoff spot. If we lose and SF wins, they may take the last wild card spot. GB and Detroit are in from the North. New Orleans is in from the South and has a bye. St. Louis is in from the West. In the AFC, Cincinatti and Baltimore are in. Indianapolis is in with a win. Miami, NE, NJ, and Buffalo are all battling for the East crown. Miami is 9-6 and a game ahead of the other 3. Win and they are in. Denver is 10-5 and has the West wrapped up. Our last game is hosting Washington. Jason Campbell has fought some injuries, but has played well decently when he has played. He is 180 of 315 (57%) in 9 starts for 1935 yards with 10 TD's 8 INT's. Clinton Portis is in severe decline but still has 218 carries for 841 yards and 3 TD's. Chris Cooley, Steve Breaston, and Brandon Lloyd provide multiple effective receiving targets. Both tackles are very good, but the interior of the line is below average. Defensively, the front 7 is very good. Carlos Rogers and Sean Taylor are great in the secondary, but the RCB Jimmy Williams and FS Vickiel Vaughn are weaknesses. We'll use the same gameplan as last week offensively. Defensively, we'll welcome Devin back as well as the other guys. |

McNabb to Baskett for 19 more! McNabb is sacked on the next play and they force us to kick a short FG. 17-0. McNabb throws a pick on our next drive on the 42 that is returned to our 1! Offensive holding pushes them back to the 11. 1:25 left. Trent Cole with a stop. Omar with a stop. Colby with a stop. We force the 19 yard FG. 17-3. Halftime: 17-3. McNabb is 12 of 16 for 144 yards. After throwing an interception on our last drive, McNabb is perfect on this drive and ends with a 21 yard TD pass to Danny Peterson. 24-3. 3:40 left in the 3rd. End of 3: 24-3, we lead. Cole forces them to punt with tremendous pressure on the QB. Westbrook goes down late in the 4th with an injury Ricker misses a 49 yard FG attempt. 1:49 left. We'll be playing the Rams in the Wild Card Round.
Levi Brown is 100% now. Unfortunately, Westbrook and Douglas are both banged up some. Also, Considine has a sprained ankle. However, I'll risk those guys and everyone but Tommy Kelly will be playing. The other wild card games will be Baltimore at Denver, Detroit at Dallas, and Tennessee at Miami. I probably won't play these until tomorrow. |

The Rams feature a high powered offense that is led by Marc Bulger. Sidney Rice is questionable for this game, but they have 3 receivers rated over 50. The offensive line is solid and the defense is effective enough to win most games with their high powered offense outscoring everyone. I'm going to start Westbrook and make him the primary back for this playoff run with Alan Douglas getting 20-30% of the snaps.
Everyone is playing except for Tommy Kelly. |

In the other games:
Baltimore lost at Denver 37-7 as Nathan Weaver ran 33 times for 195 yards with 2 TD's. Jay Cutler was 10 of 14 for 134 yards with a TD 0 INT's. Detroit won at Dallas 13-3 as their defense dominated and Brady Quinn didn't make any mistakes. He was 18 of 25 for 223 yards with 0 TD's 0 INT's against a very good Dallas defense. Tennessee won at Miami 33-10 as LenDale White had 124 yards on 27 carries and Vince Young threw 3 TD's and only 1 INT. Our next game is at the Saints. The Saints are led by Dree Brees who has excellent throwing accuracy and Reggie Bush who is rated 80 overall with tremendous breakaway speed. Deuce McAllister is retired and Reggie is the key to their offense. He had 364 carries for 1633 yards with 22 TD's this year! He also had 49 receptions for 381 yards. Marques Colston and Calvin Johnson are a very tough duo at WR to contain. The offensive line is solid at all positions with LT Jamaal Brown being the standout. Defensively, Dwight Freeney is the star of their front 7 but it is solid at all position. Alfred Fincher is a very solid MLB. The secondary is good with SS Bryan Scott being the biggest standout. There are no real weaknesses in their team now. Alex Stepanovich is out with a strained elbow tendon. A few other guys are probable but will play through their minor injuries. I have a tough decision on who to start, but will go with 3rd year C Antoine Smith who has the best combination of experience and talent. Patrick Mannelly is just old and in severe decline, but he will be our backup. |
