It seems perfectly reasonable to me to take the edit button away from someone who posts a lot of "junk" to a message board to seek attention. If you are gonna post that much in a message board known for the thick skinned, you learn to live with what you posted.

Which brings me to the second point, does it not seem a bit odd to anyone else that someone with such a thin skin favorite message board is a place that is so irreverent? A place that he must know can be unmerciful in its humor(and politics, opinions, ect), yet he continues to put himself out there for attention?

If JB is the genuine article, I appologize in advance to him. I may be the only one here that genuinely doesn't buy it, but I just don't.

I dunno- isn't it a classic immature cry for attention, no different than getting drunk and yelling at a party (not that I don't think those people need some psych help, too, but I'm in the minority on that).

I barely even have time to play video games. How does he do it???

That is just my take on it, as an impartial observer.
I figured you'd been here long enough to realize that some people just have an axe to grind against SkyDog, too, just like seemingly everyone on this board has axes to grind against other people. So, everytime we have a thread about a modding decision, we always have the same posters come out of the woodwork saying the exact same things. It's when other people are saying them that I think we see a different response.

Then again, if I were in his shoes, I'd be the same way- who cares about the people who bitch every time regardless, they're not going to be happy no matter what so just chalk them up to supremely biased observers, but when other people start mentioning things, that's when I'd worry about having stepped over the line.

It really didn't take as long as you might think. As I said, up until last night, I just did Google News and Google searches once a week or so. Knowing that death certificates take a while some times, I wanted to wait to take it further at the three month mark, which was reached a few days ago. I'd been telling myself that I wanted to go ahead and check, and this thread pushed me over. I probably spent a little over an hour or so on it last night, and a little under an hour this morning. It could have been done much faster, but for some strange reason it didn't occur to me to start with the guy who posted it at Madden. If I had done that, I could have saved myself the time of looking at IP's of the 15 or so people who have registered here since September '05 and have 50 or more posts. I did that first, trying to see if maximus created a new account here shortly before or after his "I'm leaving" post to Dutch. As far as I could tell, he didn't. Once I started in on the account at Madden, it happened very fast from there (as in maybe 20 minutes).

So, if I understand correctly...

maximus = vulcan = David Winters (developer of Maximum Football)

and his death is what delayed the release of the game? But now that SkyDog found out he's not dead, the game can be released once jbmagic's edit button is found?

I expected that when I clicked on one of VPI's that it would post "Maximus is alive!!" in the Maximum Football thread.

Or was it "Evens are the greatest!!" in the Evens vs. Odds thread?

Maximus did something very similiar to this on the .400 software boards about a year and half ago. He said he had cancer and wasn't sure if he was going to live. He disappeared then came back a while later and said he was fine after treatment.

Incredible that a thread based on the edit button could be 10 pages long.

EDIT: Errr, it's actually 10 pages

EDITx2: People lost posts!!!! Only 6 pages.

Actually, it is 6 pages for me

It depends upon how many posts you choose to have per page.

Edit: Nevermind. I'm losing my mind tonight apparently. I do believe this thread was 10 pages and underwent shrinkage.

Area y'all sure about that? (No idea here how many posts were here...) I can see edited/deleted posts in a thread, and I sure only see a handful (easily less than 10) in this one.

I know I saw this thread at 10 pages when I posted. That is why I made my post #288.

Next thing I know it is only 6 pages. Odd.

Ok then. I think a post or two were deleted since the tops of the last page or two are different from what they were earlier and they confused my simple brain (plus I just spent 7 hours in Black Wing Lair (World of Warcraft)...I'm a bit fired right now)

i only ask to have the edit button back, and you guys are taking this to the extreme. one person attacks me and others want to pile on.

you make it like i am the first person to ever delete my post in here. others have done it too, but they dont get rip for it.

the reason i deleted some post is because there was others attacking me and i just got tire of it. it was getting too personal.

if there a rule in not deleting your psot, than i wont do it anymore. i just use the edit button to fix my post and edit my grammar better if i make a mistake.

i am not a bad person. i like most of you guys here. This is my favorite forum to visit.

if you guys dont want me to post that much anymore, just let me know and i wont. i just dont want anyone getting upset and annoy with me. i just will cut my post and replies down.

there are others who has posted way more in the last few months than me.

All right e.e. cummings, you lost me. You can spell dyslexic, but you don't understand the basics of capitalization and paragraph structure? FYI, when you take it to another board, Those rules Are not resTricted to English.
