Isn't there mandatory jail time at some point? I believe in Illinois you have to go for 30 days on your 3rd.

Are these gambling sites asking for a client's income? How does a site like FanDuel ensure that funds that are wagered are clean? I thought a company like FanDuel would care about it making sure the clients have the money to cover their bets. If the money is pulled from a bank account or a credit card (don't know if this is possible), does that suffice or does the client have to provide more info?

I previously had accounts with every legal book in NJ, over 20. You deposit a variety of ways. Credit card, bank transfer, paypal, etc..but I was never asked for any income verification.

I think, with Mahomes at least, that it's not "playing out of his mind" that he's doing. Watching him in the playoffs, he reminds me now of Brady in the sense that he has the experience and calmness of having done it before to marry up to his natural abilities, of course.

Meaning, he's at the point where he'll just basically figure out what it's going to take to win, much like 2nd-half career Brady instead of, say, trying to overwhelm the opposition like Manning did for most of his career.

Yes, who's money it is does matter if those funds were obtained illegally.

For most customers, you just fund it with a credit card or whatever is available. They will sometimes ask for further identification if you do a withdrawal. That's usually just your drivers license and not a big deal. But we're talking accounts with in the $100-$5000 range.

If someone is betting millions in your sportsbook, you absolutely would want to verify who they are and how they are obtaining all that money. This is mostly to prevent money laundering, but also good to know if the funds were obtained illegally.

I was talking about the guy that stole the money. He did not care about his futility as a daily fantasy player because he was not footing the bill.

The article made the distinction between sports betting and daily fantasy so I am guessing that would have made things tougher. Either way FanDuel knew who he was and the VCC covered all his bets. Would it be FanDuel's responsibility to contact the Jags to check his income or to see if he was authorized to use it for gambling? Remember the Jags had no clue until the NFL told them. I suspect this is another case of someone not knowing the gambling rules and the embezzlement dots being connected after the fact.

As thrilled and thankful I am that Jim Harbaugh brought us a National Championship, now that he’s bolted for the NFL and is no longer “our weirdo”, I wish him zero success. He’s a crazy lying man who has absolutely gutted the program - taking a lot of the staff with him to the NFL - and has left the program with multiple pending NCAA investigations. The National Title was worth it, but I am no Chargers fan and hope he falls flat on his face.

NCAA president Charlie Baker said that the Wolverines were clearly “the better team” and "at the end of the day, no one believes at this point that Michigan didn’t win the national title fair and square.”

All staffs go to great lengths to hide their play calls. The blame falls squarely on Michigan. I think cheaters should be punished.

First thought was pretty cool story.

Second thought was that 24 years ago!

Terry Killens: 24 years ago, he played in a Super Bowl as a player. Now, he’s making history as an official | CNN
Quote:

Quote:
As Kevin Dyson’s full-stretch reach comes up agonizingly short, it ensured heartbreak for Terry Killens.

In what has gone down in folklore as one of the most famous plays in NFL history, the “One Yard Short” – where Dyson dived for the goal-line in an attempt to score a touchdown in the final seconds of Super Bowl XXXIV in 2000 which would have given the Tennessee Titans the chance to tie the game against the then St. Louis Rams, only to be tackled just shy – meant Killens came so close, yet so far, to Super Bowl glory.

As confetti rained upon the field, it was Rams white instead of Titan blue. Killens’ first appearance in a Super Bowl had ended in unimaginable disappointment.

The linebacker, who was in the league for seven seasons, never competed in another Super Bowl during his playing days. But now, 24 years later, Killens is back on the biggest stage, this time in a very different uniform.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Cleveland State should be given the death penalty after all of this. How many more blue bloods have to cheat before the Vikings are held accountable?

YES!!!!

Devin Hester and Andre Johnson have finally made it to the Hall. I have to appreciate these Hurricanes getting in cause after Reggie Wayne and maybe Calais Campbell, it will be few and far between.

This is a great easy to understand video on how defenses have been slowing down the spread offenses. It also give a glimpse of why QB play is so tough in modern football.

That NFL Today may be the last for most of that crew. It will be interesting to see what CBS has planned for next year. It seems like Boomer and Phil Sims have been on the air forever.

Doesn't Vinovich's crew routinely call the most penalties year after year? GREAT.

Not as much as I hate the halftime show. Read an article saying ghat usher w as told by jayz who is apparently the halftime show director, to make sure to add the culture in this show .

Gee that sounds so... not entertaining

Hasn't it been a tradition for the Super Bowl games to start with a nervous low/no scoring first quarter? Last year's 7-7 first quarter was the highest in quite a long time, it seems.

Since Taylor Swift is now political, we need equal time - every shot of her cheering is to be followed with one of her reaction to a bad KC play.

Like a false start taking a step onto the field. That may be the worst/most ridiculous injury I've seen in some time.
