Kim Anderson is under way too much pressure. He is in way over his head.

Last night my buddy went to the Mizzou/Ala. game. And it sounds like Anderson is absolutely clueless when it comes to in game coaching. He didnt adapt to the pick and roll. And down 3 with 3.5 seconds left in the game had 3 post players on the floor.

After the game, he got after Cullen Van Leer for his 1 for 5 night. Van Leer had tendinitis in his ankle and is playing through it. Anderson got after him in the hallway. When CVL went into the lockerroom, Barnett was laughing and told him he didnt say anything to him about going 2 for 10.

Anderson is a lame duck and knows it. Feel sorry for the players.

Yeah I don't what possible harm firing him midseason would do. Would it effect our 7-19 record? Would some of the 2-star recruits go to another college? He is beyond unqualified to be a division I coach and I'm not sure why this has spread out over 3 seasons now.

I don't think firing mid-season would do anything to help. The coaching search is already well underway from the info that's been leaking out over the last 2-3 weeks. There's already a budget in place and a list of coaches that they are considering. I have little doubt that all the agents for those coaches have already had a bug planted in their ear that they're under consideration for the job. By doing it this way, Mizzou can release Kim the day after the season ends and already have their feet on the ground running as each of the coaches that they are considering also have their season end. Mizzou will have their hire done quickly so the kids won't have to wait long to find out who the new coach is.

FWIW.......it looks like Michael Porter Sr. is almost as big of a priority as an assistant coach for the new staff as any head coach is. They are hoping that Romar gets fired, but they believe that Romar won't land a Power 5 coaching job and would like to offer Michael Porter Sr. a job with the new staff if that happens. But it doesn't sound like they want to offer Romar the head job to facilitate that.

U of Tennessee just hired K-State's AD John Currie.

Guess that means the end of the Bruce Weber era

My personal pick for AD at K-State would be Mike Alden, but I'm sure they'll stay in-house and promote Laird Veatch (who has already been named interim AD).

The Badgers have done quite the opposite from what they normally do and that's falter towards the end of the season. They were 21-3 and riding pretty high towards a 2 seed if they could have just won the games they were supposed to win... instead the lose to Northwestern, Michigan, Ohio St and Michigan St in 4 of their last 5 games. Now they have to win their final two just to try to stay out of the dreaded 8/9 seed.

They won't scare many teams this tournament unfortunately but if they get hot offensively then they could do damage...but I just don't see it this year unless a team plays zone against them.

Seems like teams just figured out they have to go all out and double Happ and that's all she wrote. That's what Ohio State did, and Wisconsin looked out of it all game.

So excited that there is only a week left in the regular season. Tournament time is the best month of basketball there is, even when the team you root for isn't participating.

VCU-Dayton tonight for the regular season A10 crown (CBS Sports Network at 8 PM). VCU wins, there will be a tie atop the standings that VCU wins by going 2-0 over Dayton. UD wins, they will have a 2 game lead with 1 to play.

Dayton has never won a regular season conference championship outright, only joining a conference starting 1988. Last year, they were the tournament 1 seed based on tiebreakers with VCU and St. Bonaventure.

Tonight is also senior night for the 3 players left on the team from the Elite Eight run, Scoochie Smith, Kyle Davis, and Kendall Pollard... and for the two-year transfer from James Madison, Charles Cooke. Winningest class in school history, on 101 wins right now.

I just assume they will lose, because every time I get excited enough to post here about them, that means they are on a long winning streak and due to lose.

I'll be there with 13,454 of my closest friends. Put it on if you want to see a slugfest. Last game VCU played, I think nearly all of their starters had 4 fouls against Rhode Island. It will be physical and probably played in the 60's. If VCU shoots well from the outside and dominates the offensive glass as they did in Game 1, they will win. If Dayton can hold their own on the boards and get Scoochie and Cooke going, they will win.

Big game on the road at Wiscy tonight. There seems to be a thought around the program that we are a bubble team. If this is true, we must win tonight.
Got rid of our sat. So I cant watch. Will try and pick it up on ESPN on the computer.

All but done? Still holding out hope for a 5-day SEC tournament run? I remember towards the end of the Snyder era I would get together with my friends and explain how Mizzou was going to win the Big 12 tournament from the 8/9 seed position. Of course that pipe dream always ended that first night. I think it was my freshman year at Mizzou where we made some ridiculous run in the Big 8 tournament to eventually lose to Temple on the NCAA's that made me think this was always a possibility.

This is a player on the IU football team. I'm sure Coach Allen is giving him an earful after he tweeted this. (I'd love to believe it, but obviously am very skeptical.)

Drew is not a name that I've heard mentioned as a candidate. Seems like Donovan gets the most mentions, then Tony Bennett or Marshall. The Miller brothers also come up quite a bit. With Brad Stevens not being an option, I think most everyone wants Donovan, and there is some smoke there from "insiders". I have no idea who we'll end up with, but it is fun to follow along.

Drew's agent must be floating his name big-time. Seems like he wants out of Baylor badly. He's mentioned with almost every opening right now.

I think the comment was made because Alford is viewed by many in Hoosierland as a bit of an asshole. People also seem to think he is similar to Crean - all offense, no focus on defense. Honestly, I wasn't an IU fan yet when Alford was at IU. I came on board my freshman year in the fall of '89. Wasn't even a basketball fan until I went to IU.

Alford is an asshole. See Iowa Basketball, 1999-2007.

People love him this year, though I don't think it's a surprise that he didn't have many fans here last year when he won 8 games. But with a decent chance at a top 4 finish in the conference and a team that has only one senior playing I think he's got most everyone's support now. It has been an amazing turnaround this season and if he can build on it Minnesota could have one of the top Big Ten teams next year.

Saw this on a Mizzou message board. Someone listened to a podcast interview of the Indy Star's Zach Osterman:

-The mood in Bloomington is that Tom should be worried
-The fanbase is apathetic as he can remember, evidenced by major gaps in the lower bowl -- which is unusual
-Longtime season ticket holders are debating whether to renew
-The roster turnover coming down the pike -- Bryant, Blackmon and Anunoby leaving -- isn't encouraging
-"I'd be very surprised if Fred Glass did not move very decisively. ... I'd be shocked if he needs more than a few days to decide to move forward."
-Glass has done a ton of good stuff -- facility upgrades, creating a student-athlete Bill of Rights, increasing revenue -- but this will define his tenure

Granted I don't pay close attention to the NBA anymore, but why would he want to leave the Zombie Sonics? Is he doubtful about the trajectory of the franchise? Does he really miss the college game that much?

The theory is that he came to OKC when they looked like a real contender with Durant and Westbrook. Now that Durant is gone, they're no longer in contention for a title. Plus, there's the chance that Westbrook will opt out of his contract after next season, leaving him with a total rebuild. IU offers deep-pockets for the basketball program in a state that is loaded with basketball talent. He can be paid handsomely to help make IU relevant again.

As for Crean, the word is that he will be gone as soon as we lose in the Big Ten tournament.

Is any of this true? No idea. But I'm hoping. This season has been a real slog watching the turnover machine with no defense.
