Well I think some have said that "would you do her" should result in 100% polls each time. In these polls we're allowed to be more selective than that, as if we for some unfathomable reason had the right to be picky about hot celeb tail.

I am wondering how attitudes might change as both we and the subjects change. Ok, maybe you think she is too young looking now. Does that change at 24? 29? Does this follow a similar pattern to 1/2 + 7?

And how do the upper bounds grow? Kathy Ireland for example...I've no problem with her at all at 48. She's not as hot as she used to be (and even then she had her detractors), but I wouldn't consider her too old for me (I'm 38). I would consider Upton too young for me, but not so young that I don't find her superficially quite hot.

Not really. Too hot for you to find her attractive = you don't really have an opinion.

If she's too young for you to possibly find her hot then she's too young for you to find her not hot also.

Looking at the big picture. Whether we vote hot or not hot really isnt the end of the world either way. But yes its VERY important that we know what the hell we are doing. Clearly anyone that votes "not hot" in either blinded in some way or not voting correctly. Those who voted hot have it right.

It's not important, but I fulfilled the requirements for a degree in Psych* and have always tended to be curious about these things.

dola - and I think what DT is saying is that some are not regarding Upton as a sexual being/viable sexual partner by their personal definition. So you might conclude that judging her as "not hot" would be along the same lines as judging Brad Pitt or Ryan Gosling as not hot.

Kind of sounds like that is what he is saying. In any case its kind of rough coming on here and having to explain your vote Its still a matter of opinion.

I voted "No" because I didnt like the pics that were up early. Watching the video of her changed my mind but it was too late at the point. Plus I wanted to prove to myself that I could actually vote Not hot.

My vote should probably be DQ'd as I had motives not specifically devoted to the question at hand.

I can see a point. I can easily take an older person and look back at a time when she was really hot and vote hot by that logic. But I can't do the same with the younger person. Heck Mila Kunis wasn't Hot as a teenager (IMHO) on That 70s show but OMFG I think she's megamegahot as an adult.

This honestly goes both ways. With the younger guys here they are less likely to think an older woman is a sexual being. So I think it evens out. Trust me I didn't vote not because of her age, I enjoy a lot of porn with 18+ girls in it.

In a scientific study we would call this an operational definition. Coincidentally, my Master's thesis was in part about physical attractiveness so these polls are interesting to me on more than one level. Mostly the disagreements about who is hot and who is not is what I find the most interesting. Some of the posts are...um...revealing, psychologically speaking.

The real problem is how do we define physical attractiveness or in these polls "hotness". It's not as simple as it might appear. In this case, what if you don't find big boobs appealing? You might not then rate Ms. Upton a hottie. So now it's not so much about facial attractiveness but about body type preference. What about motion/movement? I find her more attractive in the Dougie/SoBe vids than in many of her stills. I guess that means that I put a higher priority on that then maybe others do. What about posture? Brains? Personality? And even if you do not know her (extremely likely) there is some assumption about those things going on based on interviews, tweets, talk shows, etc.

See? Complicated. The only solution is to define hotness specifically, and give everyone voting in the poll the MMPI so we can determine what common traits there are for those who vote hot or not, and then cross reference those across the different celebrity polls so that we can run an ANOVA in an attempt to eliminate the outliers, then...

Damn. It's just a poll. Vote hot or not and be done with it!

BTW, I can't decide so I have not voted yet.

But I sure as hell can tell whether I think they are hot or not and vote accordingly. I don't think age has anything to do with that.

I'm an older guy as well but I think that there might be an age bias in choosing hotness. It's not that I disagree with your point about being able, it's more about attractiveness preferences. For instance, tats and piercings are right out for me. Why anyone -- but especially a woman -- would ruin their natural beauty with what passes as some kind of statement is beyond me. So, for example, if Mila Kunis -- who I voted as hot -- had tats/piercings it's an immediate NOT.

For the record I have now voted Hot for Kate Upton even though I am not a big boob kind of guy.

I agree with the post earlier. I can't see anyone on this site telling this woman no should she be naked in their bed...but I did vote not hot. She's attractive, no doubt, but for me hot needs to have something that really stands out (yes, I know, she has two things that stand out. Not my point). I actually find her breasts a little too big for the rest of her figure. And she's blond, which is a knock. There are so many blond bombshells out there that I tend to get pickier about which ones are hotter than others. She's not, just my opinion.

You just include an option for "hotter than option #N" and add in an option for "less hot than one on the bottom." Highest percentage wins and that's there they are placed. Tie breaker pools could be used.
