K-Rod warming up in the Auburn bullpen, they need him to keep this 3-2 lead safe.

Mississippi State breaks up the no hitter with a safety and trails Auburn 3-2 in the 4th inning. Err, quarter.

SEC baseball is higher scoring than this game.
LSU Auburn next week is going to be pretty brutal as well, I fear. LSU QBs still struggling as well. |

Sam Bradford hits tight end Jermaine Gresham on a 64 yard TD pass to put OU up 48-7 over Washington in the 3rd quarter.
Bradford is now 18 out of 21 for 304 yards and 5 TD's, 0 INT's. |

This is my problem with college football. Teams like USC scheduling a game with The Sisters of the Blind; like tonight. Couldn't they find a real team to play?

Just heard about the end of the Kentucky/MTSU game.. UK wins 20-14, but a crazy finish, very TCY-esque...
These are the last two plays of the game, with UK leading 20-14, 20 seconds left, about to kick a field goal to put things out of reach.. 4th-8, MTSU15 0:20 MTSU blocked 33-yard field goal attempt by L. Seiber. T. Riley returned for 37 yards. MTSU committed 10 yard penalty 1st-10, MTSU38 0:06 J. Craddock passed to E. King to the right for 61 yard gain Game Over at the UK 1 Yard Line. Wow!

The obvious question now is how far does Ohio State drop in the polls.

I think that might be too high. Oregon, BYU, and Alabama all might have a claim at being a better team that OSU right now.

They got beat by a ridiculously good defense, so they shouldn't drop that far. I'm just pleasantly surprised that USC's offense has been as good as it has been the first two games. |

While true, that's not how the poll rankings go. After all, while they get whupped, it's by the #1 team, so the pollsters won't drop them too far. Btw, how bad do you think Tennessee feels today after watching that BYU-UCLA game?

I will have to wait & see how things shake out, but me & my dad both said "15th" when asked where we thought they would drop to. OSU is still a very good football team, but they are not a national championship contender this year. They will still compete for a Big Ten title and will still play in a January 1st bowl game.
I think USC is the best football program in the country and has been for the last several years. Will they win it all this year? Or will they have a bad loss that keeps them out of the title game? A berth in the BCS title game is theirs if they go undefeated. Period. And Ohio State would whoop Cal-State Fullerton's ass!!! |

Games that involve the Pac 10 where one team has to travel a significant distance is always hell on the the visitor. Add in Wells being hurt and the outcome isn't that surprising. OSU being ranked near the top of the 1 loss teams just means if they run the table they could be right back into a title game. I still see OSU getting beat again this year though. OSU would be a 3 loss team at best in the SEC.

I only hope that OSU doesn't somehow run the table the rest of the way and sneak into the BCS Title Game.
This is possible. USC is a Machine! I've heard this in past seasons' and it's true in this one as well... The only team that can beat the Trojans is themselves.

Thats stretching things quite a bit. they might be a 3 loss team in the SEC, but the "at best" part is rather arrogant. |

This goes back to last year, when Bradford lead the nation in passing efficiency. Even though OU beat Missouri 41-31 during the regular season, going into the Big XII Championship rematch all we heard was Chase Daniel this and Chase Daniel that, and that the first game was a fluke. After OU destroyed Missouri 38-17 in the Big XII Championship, some of the pollsters still had Missouri ranked ahead of OU. *shurg* |

Does Wisconsin know their Conference kind of laid an egg in games against quality opponents today?
10-Zip at Fresno State nearing the Half. Not bad.

Umm, what "quality opponents" are you talking about? USC is the only real qualilty opponents that did anything impressive. Purdue lost in OT, nothing embarrassing about that in the slightest, they should have lost by 3TD's. Nobody else in the Big 10 played anyone worth talking about. Fresno State isn't a bad team, Wisconsin generally plays a conservative game, so 10-0 isn't really surprising. |

Render, I'm talking about the schedule for the Conference today...
The only matchups today thus far for the conference that I would consider tests to a certain degree were all losses, it is what it is. - Purdue played well and lost a toughie - Michigan lost to ND, it is what it is (Note: I'm not sure I'd pull for ND in a matchup with a North Korean/Venezuelan Select Team) - The OSU debacle The only one left is Wisconsin and they're playing well thus far in a very tough place. The rest of the Conference today? Maybe the toughest opponent was THE University of Louisiana. Again, it is what it is my friend. Just my opinion.

Yeah, alot of people I spoke with where I was watching the Mich-ND game said it was obvious the Michigan defend pushed the ND player into Weiss when he saw he was turned around. If it was the Pro's the Goodell would of suspended someone for that. |

I think Johnson had just decided he was going to go for it and had the game ride on that play. Once he calls the TO, he has no choice really. Giving up 17 points off 3 turnovers (the fumble near the end of the first half was a killer) was crushing, but I am still so frustrated by the helmet to helmet contact penalty. If that is not called GT gets the ball with eight minutes left and the game tied. (Yes I know we could have stopped them later in the drive...but the defense made a play and had earned the right to be off the field.) Really, really, really bad call and a total game altering one in my admittedly biased opinion. For those who didn't see it: YouTube - Bad ACC Refs - Helmet to Helmet? GT at VPI 2008 |
