Latest on Calvin Johnson is that it was just a bruised back and he should be all right. Wish I could say the same for the Lions...

Maybe I am confused, but have you always rooted for the Giants or is this some kind of early standings positioning?

Totally wanting to be alone in first after we beat the Bears tonight.

Denver had no timeouts left because they wasted them with about 10 minutes left to go in the third quarter. They were inside the 10 and even a good punt puts Jax near FG range. It was a good call.

On the play in question, Cutler makes a perfect pass to Daniel Graham who drops the ball. Game over.

I liked the call.

DJ Williams at MLB? I don't like it at all. The guy makes more misreads on a drive than most MLB's make in a year. His horrific play at the LB spot cost the Broncos the game today.

Well, Carolina is 2-1... but I really don't have much faith in them right now. Hopefully they will benefit from playing in a generally terrible division. The defense is just way too porous. But for now... Tampa/Carolina next week play for 1st in the division and the early edge!

Well, Cleveland scored 51 last week, Philly scored 56 this week, maybe New England can top 60.

agree with you radii, I dont feel good about em either. The one + I see is the running game, but they need to stay consistent. Tampas D looks to be back, so I dunno next week.

That was an awful goalline series.

Campbell should've tried a sneak from the 2/3 instead of clocking it on 1st down, no one was looking for it.

Yeah, I didn't understand the spike when they had 1st and goal from the 2 with 50 seconds left. Run a draw play or something and then pass the last 3 downs if that doesn't work. None of their calls made any sesnse.

Ya, via the same "ninja timeout" strategy that screwed them last week.

Hopefully this is something that can be addressed somehow in the off-season - it's just annoying.

That was one of the worst goal to go offensive series I have ever seen from the spike on 1st down to the rush to get the last play off when they had plenty of freaking time.

Falcons had around 500 yards of offense and lost? Sometimes you got to play the game with your head instead of your inner rage.

Well, it also helps to have run defense and receivers that don't drop touchdowns.

I think half the teams in the league can say the same thing but they aren't able to put up those kind of offensive numbers. I don't know about the Panthers' defense though.

So the 5 points from his catches was the key? The 230 yards and 3 TDs wasn't enough?

Agreed with all on that Skins final series. On first down, instead of spiking it, they should have faked the spike and attempted a sneak, or a handoff. Just silly to kill the clock like that and waste a down when you've got 50 seconds to run 4 friggin plays.

Derrick Ward got ignored at the goalline this week as well. I really could have used some of those points, since I got destroyed by Curtis, and Bulger negatived me out.

the patriots do look very good, but I don't think they've played a playoff team yet. the chargers' defense doesn't look good at all, and phillip rivers is being exposed now that LT isn't going for 170 every game. the packers handled them today and it wasn't even as close as the score indicated.

I think betts would have scored on 4th down if he followed his block outside; he cut it inside for some reason and didn't even get close to the end zone. I don't understand why shockey doesn't get a lot more passes thrown to him; eli tends to lock in on burress like a rookie QB would.

this nbc thing with keith olbermann doing highlights is BRUTAL. the guy doesn't even like sports, let alone highlights.
