Little breaks to the front and leads Tourbillon Du Fosse by 1/2. Down the back straight she leads by 1 length over Maloren D'Ombree and opens a bit to 3/4 in the final turn. With 400m left, Little leads Jimo de la Couronne by 1/2 but Jimo cuts the lead to a nose with 300m to the finish. With 200m left, Jimo takes the lead by 3/4 over Little and he holds the lead through the finish to win the race.

Damn, Lodeso is in a very tough race. There are a bunch of National level horses with 60s and 70s- no biggie. However, there is an exceptional group of Listed horses entered also, all with ratings in the 80s and 90s. Lodeso will come out of box 9.

Olympic takes the early lead with Lodeso still way outside in fifth, trying to make his way to the front. Down the back straight, Hugo D'Orient leads by 1 with Lodeso still fifth. The final turn sees Hugo by 1 length still, Lodeso in fifth but moving up. 500m from the line, Hugo leads Longest by 1. 400m to go, Hugo still leads but Gazouillis du Brada now sits in second with Lodeso up to fourth. At the 300m mark, Classic Cazoume takes over in first while Lodeso moves to third. 200m left and Classic leads Lodeso by 3/4. With 100m more, Lodeso finally finds the front of the pack and manages to hold off Classic by 1/2 to win against this great field.

Artisanale is out poorly and Biosca beats her to the rail and pins her there in fourth. Down the back straight, Admiral Blue leads Biosca by a neck while Artis flounders. Biosca is back in front in the final turn, Artis in third but still on the rail. 500m from the wire, Biosca leads by 1 length but Admiral Blue moves past to lead with 400m left, Artis in seventh. 300m from the finish, Too Much Precious passes the slowing leaders into first while Artis is still seventh but now clear and pushing. 200m to go, Returns Tearse takes first by 1/2 on Too Much with Artis closing. 100m more now and Returns leads Artis and Doc Best by 1/2. Escude picks the right time for a slap to Artis' flanks and she gallops into the lead, holding on to win, in a great comeback, by 1 1/2.

You have to remember, partially, that the game favors, to the exclusion of logic oftentimes, post position #1 when it comes to favorites and wagering.

The Race:

Out of the gate Imperatrice takes the lead on Good Luck Lee with Hurry Fortune third and Balbek Impudent fourth. Purple Tearse is tenth and Ursulo sixteenth.

Down the back straight Imperatrice still leads with Hurry second, Balbek third and Homme Chichon fourth. Purple is tenth and Ursulo seventeenth.

Around the final turn Imperatrice, Hurry and Good Luck are at the front with Volage With Me right there as well. Purple is still tenth and Ursulo up to fifteenth.

With 500m left in the race, Imperatrice leads Hurry by 3/4 length with Good Luck third and Maybie fourth. Purple drops to twelfth with Ursulo in fourteenth.

100m from the finish line Risdale has seen enough. He gives BL a shot to the flank and she shoots to a 1 1/2 length lead on Banana, Kapucine 2 back and another 1/2 to Camelie. Acteur trails by 3 and Tarass in sixth still, trailing by 5.

With just 50m to go, BL has the race in hand as Banana is second, 2 1/2 back with Kapucine in third trailing by 3.

Nice ride from Risdale for a change. Seems like jockeys have pretty bad timing with the whip alot of the time, which is crucial and, btw, explains the huge changes in the lead or lengths behind that occur all the time.
