Hey, at the very least let's have the Vikings make their pick on time.

I'd actually like to see the vikings take Wilfork here, and leave Williams at DE instead of moving him to DT

LOL

That having been said...did the Dolphins REALLY have to make that trade?! Was New England trying to trade up? We'll probably never know.

Vikings got Udeze... GREAT PICK.

And good trade for them, because Miami did not have to move up for their pick. I wonder what the Hell Miami was thinking.

Not at all! We have Charles Grant, draft first round 2 years ago. And Darren Howard who is a great DE- Howard has the franchise tag and has not resigned yet so I am guessing this means his career in New Orleans is over. I would have been much happier with Wilfolk or trading down.

Oh, no. He really was just annoying me. Other than his lame comments like that, I actually enjoy Berman.

I agree that Udeze is a great pick. Miami and Cleveland both move when they don't seem to need to...not the greatest trades ever.

Wow... horrible move by the Dolphins. Worst move of the draft so far and there have been a few bad ones. Carey was by no means the concensus #1 guard. Miami evidently panicked when the top lineman on their board went unexpectedly

bhlloy - While I don't challenge that it's a bad move...I think that the Giants gave up WAY too much for Eli.

True, take your pick of NY, Cleveland, Miami, for the worst deal. The NY deal is highly dependent on how much (or if at all) better Manning is than Rivers. Cleveland and Miami were just unneccesary moves and Miami didn't even get a top talent either.

For me Miami is the worse move, but I wouldn't argue saying Giants either.

I think you have to also take into account how much better Manning becomes than Roethlisberger, whom the Giants could have (should have?) picked.

A team got the chance every round to make its pick. If a team made a pick, they had to forfeit a pick in the subsequent draft -- the bigger draft with the college players. Sometimes, rounds would go by where nobody made a pick. Sometimes the entire draft would go by without a player being picked.

Nowadays it still works the same way, but instead of pulling names out of a hat, the NFL uses the previous year's draft order. The Bengals will get the first chance to pick someone from this year's pool."

this article is talking about last year's supplemental draft hence the Bengals talk...
Hmmm....here's an article from Profootball Weekly:
Here's an explanation of the supplemental draft taken from last year: Preview The NFL Supplemental Draft is somewhat similar to the NFL Draft you are all used to. But, instead of 262 players chosen their may be none. And instead of 800+ prospects to choose from there are 6. There can be more than one supplemental draft per season. July 10, will most likely be this year’s only supplemental draft. It will not be on television, their will be no host, and there is no set location. It is all done over the phone So, now that I got all that out of the way, you still have no idea what the supplemental draft is. Players who have lost eligibility or just plan on leaving school later than the normal draft usually enter. The draft will begin with an order that was set by a recent lottery. Each team has the option of picking a player or passing once their clock is up. If a team selects a player in the first round, they will lose their first round choice in the 2004 NFL Draft. If a team selects a player in the second round, they will lose their second round choice in the 2004 NFL Draft and so on. Only 7 of the all time 26 selections have come in the first round.

Love the Wilfork pick here too. He may be their DT of the future, plugged in the middle of the 3-4...

FUCK! How do the Seahawks not move up 2 spots with New England to pick Wolfork? With the Pats taking so long to make the pick it's obvious they were entertaining trade offers - the Seahawks NEEDED Woolfork, and they were getting extremely lucky with as far as he was falling. Missed fucking opportunity Seahawks...

Hmmm, maybe. A better bet is they go for D.J. Williams with the intent of moving him to MLB. Another possibility is they reach for a DT and take Tubbs. Or they could shock everybody and take whichever RB Dallas doesn't take and then look to trade Alexander.

What was the exact details of the Buff-Dallas trade? (Sorry, listening to the Wings game via the internet).

If the Lions are serious about wanting a back in the second round, this is good...

I can see the Bengals and the Eagles maybe drafting a back...

Dallas gets a 2nd and 5th this year, and a 1st next year, I believe. Ridiculous.

Yeah, my bad on Williams. If I'm the Seahawks, I trade down at this point to a team looking to get Jackson.

As for Buffalo - WTF are they thinking? A 1st rounder next year, a 2nd rounder this year for a QB that was a marginal 1st rounder at best?

this is win-win for buffalo, Drew is in the last year of a huge contract, if they can't get a new one negotiated then they are set to hand Losman the reins and go from there. if they do get drew signed at a better rate, they have time to develope Losman to take over from Drew in a few years.

Losman is a tough little bastard, his O-line in college was worse than the bills line has been, so he'll be used to getting shelled regularly.

he still put up some awesome numbers even while landing on his backside more often than not.
Buffalo was going to be spending the first rounder next year on a QB either way, so this is a pretty solid pick overall.
