4.6 is very good for a Mag keeper. The average from what I have seen $4.5...

Fockers - SouthPark Cows 0 - 0
Date: 10/27/2003 at 01:00 MatchID: 8326911 Arena: Fockers Arena Crowd: 25000 25000 spectators arrived at Fockers Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Fockers had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Paulusz - Nowak, Gnaegi, Oerlemans - Snashall, Leone, Lindhell, Müller, Petronia - Kyhlwald, Bulygin. SouthPark tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination. They fielded: Black - Tewari, Davis, An, Fredriksson, Cook - Bernbratt, Dragóner, Millard, Danhof - Dey. After a fine move down the middle Yefim Bulygin nearly gave the home side one up in the 19:th minute. The finishing shot went just wide, though. After a fine move down the middle Erik Kyhlwald nearly gave the home side one up in the 23rd minute. The finishing shot went just wide, though. In the games 35:th minute Fockers´s Erik Kyhlwald fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Erik Kyhlwald for taking a dive. Robert Dey had a good try in the 40:th minute, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. What was Yuri Danhof thinking? That's what everyone wondered when he for no apparent reason shot a cross pass over his own penalty area, giving Gayle Snashall an extra chance, but he didn't get the shot right.. After a fine move down the middle Yefim Bulygin nearly gave the home side one up in the 41st minute. The finishing shot went just wide, though. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 0. Fockers, bringing the final ball possession rate to 67 percent, dominated the battle. Fockers could have put themselves ahead in the 57:th minute as Dawid Nowak missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. In the games 59:th minute Fockers´s Hans Herbert Müller fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Hans Herbert Müller for taking a dive. Fockers held the ball, with a clear 66 percent possession rate. Fockers´s best player was Per Lindhell. Dario Petronia on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating SouthPark player was without a doubt Buda Dragóner. Per Fredriksson on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 0. Now imagine that defense minus the solid keeper in weak form and add a supernatural keeper in passable form!
Can you say "divine"???

If I lose this one... I deserve division V. His look actually easier than mine... but I like being 5th to his 6th again!

Well hell. The series I'm demoting too is a mess. There's 2 bot teams, and only one good team. Thing is, the good team may be better than my kids. . .
Now, it's hard to tell, because he got to PIC against every team except the one who demoted. Looks to be a paper tiger though. All midfield, lousy defense, and decent attack. With my current team, I think the most cost efficient way to go after him would be with CA, BUT, I don't know how well that works. I already have one solid/solid (pass/defense) in the back row. That would mean I'd have to buy 2 more @ ($220k) each, or there abouts. I could sell my current solid defenders they'd replace for $100k each, so that'd make the investment only ($120k). I've got just under $4m banked, and $2.5m is probably going to an U-20 keeper. The rest, I'd hoped to hang on to until the end of this coming season. Thoughts? |

IV.19 is going to be a god-awful next year.
Based off of this year's average ratings, here is where new teams rank. 1. Manchester FC 2. Mountaineer/Charleston 3. Hulligans 4. Cows 5. Gargs 6. Fockers 7. Evil 8. Greg's guys Sounds like Cows will be making a move. Not sure about Fockers or Hullis. Unfortunately for me, I can't make any real moves until about 1/2 through the season, or if I don't get that U-20 player. Regardless, this division will be a meat grinder this season. |

Dola,
DMB . . . build on your stadium for sure. You should be able to get some really good crowds in there as you whoop up on the rest of the division. |

Stadium is at 29,000, and I've never filled it. I built it this season, thinking things were going to go better than they did.
I'm loosing 10% supporters, so I'll be down to around 1,100 or so. I guess I could build up to 35,000 or so (I don't support building less than 5k seats at a time), but as I've never filled up this current expansion, I'm a little gun shy to do so. Depending on how the season develops & the crowds come, I certaintly could build up, but I'll definately wait until the season is underway & I fill up this empty house a couple times first. I'm looking at some CA specific defenders now too. I could buy one nice defender for the future exc def/solid passing and maybe a CA specific one, like passable def/exc passing. The investment would probably be a bit larger over all, but I'd have a long term defender (not that defense is good for anything. . .) |

After seeing the new teams that are joining us, I've decided to spend the rest of my life in IV.19...
Unless I get demoted. I'm still gonna get that keeper so I can start trainees, I'm also looking at another keeper that has really good set peices (since I can't buy anyone from my wife's team per GM-Spidurman) for Cup games. That would solidify my keepers for many seasons. I still need to boost that offense a bit if I want to run a effective Counter-Attack.

After the Qual games, I'll start up the ***new*** dynasty... since we are losing dmb (not the dave matthews band), we'll have to invite WVU over here. He's a fun guy and we need to scheme against the III demotee.
EDIT: I'll miss DMBs complaints and rants... you are still welcome to post here, unless you want your own dynasty.

That would be fun if we could get that Div III team to fall off the bottom and into Div V.
Anybody think about inviting the Huligans over here? |

To finish off my dynasty... my qual game to keep me in this horrible series:
SouthPark Cows - Swirling Flame 9 - 0 Date: 11/3/2003 at 01:00 MatchID: 9973379 Arena: Starks Pond Crowd: 36255 36255 spectators had come to Starks Pond this cloudy day. SouthPark tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Black - Davis, Tewari, An - Millard, Crain, Dragóner, Danhof, Bernbratt - Gustavsson, Dey. Swirling tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Spurlock - Bauman, Guthrie, Hyde - Kirkland, Hamilton, Shields, Mckinney, Gates - Blicher, Al-Rasheed. SouthPark took the lead in the 4:th minute of the game by 1 to 0, as Yuri Danhof elegantly received a pass going deep, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. In the 17:th minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Sven Gustavsson dashed through, knocking home 2 - 0 for SouthPark. Yuri Danhof of SouthPark received a yellow card in the 18:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. In the 31st minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Robert Dey dashed through, knocking home 3 - 0 for SouthPark. After this SouthPark lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. SouthPark seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. In the 36:th minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Robert Dey dashed through, knocking home 4 - 0 for SouthPark. A bit later, a magnificent combination in the middle resulted in SouthPark´s Robert Dey putting the lead up to 5 - 0. By then Robert Dey was a three time scorer - a hat trick! SouthPark appeared unsure on how to play. 5 - 0 was the half-time score. SouthPark, bringing the final ball possession rate to 77 percent, dominated the battle. The SouthPark players spent the half-time break getting a rerun of the teams tactical organization. In the 51st minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Buda Dragóner dashed through, knocking home 6 - 0 for SouthPark. Seemingly due to lack of experience, Aijaz Tewari needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. SouthPark put their lead ahead another goal as Sven Gustavsson struck home the 7 - 0 goal, after an attack from the left setting him up unmarked with the keeper. 81 minutes into the game SouthPark were awarded a penalty that Sven Gustavsson turned into 8 - 0 without a problem. This third goal made a hat trick for Sven Gustavsson. A speedy charge from the left side of the field put SouthPark lead up with 9 - 0. Robert Dey finished that one off competently, firing from an acute angle. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by SouthPark, with an impressive 83 percent possession of the ball. The most dominating SouthPark player was without a doubt Preston Davis. Palmer Black on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Swirling player was without a doubt Reg Hyde. Newton Spurlock on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 9 - 0.
