I added Vince in the position of "Elder" since he was the one who started this thread and has the current largest village. Gave him all the same powers as me.

Figure we can also have a position to head the military and commerce wings added if anyone wants to nominate someone for those two positions.

This upgrade costs:

620 wood, 445 clay, 515 iron, 275 crops.

Since I am completely out of crops, and almost out of wood, it will take me almost 18 hours to save up enough resources for the next upgrade. So likely will be tommorrow morning EST again (assuming I dont get attacked as my cranny can't store that much yet).

I want crumpler so bad... I dunno how he got so much form me, my cranny is at lvl 7 or 8. He needs a beatdown in the worst way.

Also getting attacks from starbar or whatever his name is. Time to focus on military.

My suggestion would be at least to start focus on people not in an alliance for retaliation.. I'm not sure we're built up militarywise to handle an alliance vs alliance war just yet. Have to depend on crannies for that for now..

Just one of those things, take notes and come back for revenge once we're ready type things. Last I saw, Crumpler wasn't in an alliance, so should be someone we could gang up in the short term.

remember that he is a Teuton and from the FAQ:

The Teutons


The Teutons are the most aggressive tribe. Their troops are notorious and feared for their rage and frenzy when they attack. They move around as a plundering horde, not even afraid of death.

But they lack the military discipline of the Gauls or Romans, which causes their weaknesses in speed and defense. For aggressive and experienced players the Teutons are an excellent choice!

The differences:

• Plunder bonus: the cranny of enemies only hides 2/3 of its content.
• The earth wall is almost indestructable, but only gives a minimal defense bonus
• Merchants can carry 1000 units of resources (speed: 12 fields/hour)
• Very cheap and fast trained troops which are excellent plunderers
• Weak defense

If he times his attacks right, say right before you log on in the morning, when your cranny is quite full, he can get a good bit out of it...

Sure, we have gauls, romans and Teutons in our alliance. You will need an embassy level 1 in order to join. We have a good number of people still looking to join, as we can only add about 3 per day on average right now.. What is your game name, so we can send you an invite as well tommorrow once the embassy is upgraded again.

Apparently, to get to Yellow5, it would take my swordsmen 33 hours

Closest to me is sabotai at only 1:48 and Alan T at 3:15. Looks like Yellow5 is in the best quadrant to be attacked though, look at where people are:

We are full up again now. Thanks to Lordscarlet sending a second bunch of supplied, it shortened the amount of time left to build the embassy to level 6 and invite in 3 more. Still need about 380 lumber though, at 40 lumber per hour, thats about 10 hours + 90 min to build. So likely first thing in the morning we'll be up to level 6.

Ouch, thats rediculous. Who is it attacking you? Can you even build a cranny up? If you can build up a cranny to store stuff, they will leave with nothing and become disinterested in you.

Built 1 Legionnaire just to be silly. He will die in the next attack, but he'll die a brave man.. or a fool. Actually I think I am going to use him to attack a couple of the inactives around me to see what happens.

I have a level 6 cranny, but it doesn't hold enough for me to build on between attacks.

Based on vince's test before, you probably want to send at least 2 out. Sending 1 out for Vince just got him killed before.

I already have enough clay, and will have enough iron in about 2 hours. Lumber I need 9.2 hours or 368 pieces of lumber. Crops I need about 4.5 hours or 80 crops.

So mainly its the lumber that is the limiting factor for me right now. Even though I'm making 40 per hour, I just use tons of it to upgrade.

I am trying to use the scorched earth approach.
Neither has gotten anything for there last couple of attacks.
I am hoping they go away soon and I can start saving up to build again.

okay, I'll let my woodcutters cut some more wood, up until I get home in about an hour and will send you what I have then, or a little after that. Up to 90 right now, cutting 45 per hour if I wait a bit, say even a couple more hours, that would give you 180 or about half of what you need to upgrade...

Anybody else in a non threatening environment can help Alan a bit?

Got the supplies FM, thanks again. Only need 18 more lumber and 18 more crops. So should be all set in an hour. Will take like 80-90 min to build the embassy as well, so I expect by 10-11pm EST it should be upgraded for 3 more people to join.

I hadn't thought of that, but the village being conquered of beaten down by another kind of raised a question in my mind. Sure enough, I just found what made me doubt this, again from the FAQ:

Conquerable villages:
Only villages that are not the capital of a player can be conquered, regardlessly where the palace is.

so what Brillig said seems like a plausible answer to what happened to him...
