Who is Sasha Cohen? Is she related to Leonard?

Anyone notice that Paula shows off more cleavage when the guys are singing, and pretty much cover ups during the girls shows.

I think David and Sway go home tomorrow. I suspect Bucky and Geddeon or Kevin go next week.
I thought Chris was, hands down, the best of the week. I was surprised the judges panned Taylor...I thought he was pretty good again. Those two performances were probably the only ones of the entire week (male/female) that I would probably listen to, all the way through, on the radio. |

I missed the last few performances after Sway (who was freaking awful again). Went and saw a real singer.

Wow, I'm kind of surprised at some opinions here. I though Gedeon was great this week, really well-done, unique stuff. Chris was great as well.
Two of Kevin, Sway and David go home tomorrow (my guess is the first two), and the other plus Bucky don't make it top 6 guys. Last edited by Cuckoo : 03-01-2006 at 10:39 PM. |

I think Gedeon is unique, but the kind of unique I don't want to keep listening to. He's just not my style at ALL. And he needs to shave the 'stache. It accents his already weird smile.

I thought there was one really good and that was Chris.
The rest will be battling to see who goes home. I do want to know what the hell Randy and Paula were smoking with their erview of Ace. He was off key the entire freaking song and sounded like crap. There were a coulpe really bad performances that the two of them acted like they just saw a grammy winner. Simon was pretty much dead on with his criticisms this week, but I actually think he is usually the closest to benig right most of the time. Paula is worthless as a judge and Randy is there just to tell the world who he has worked with. |

Simon is almost always right. The only time he's not is when he goes overboard in critiquing someone "as the worst ever." Not only were they wrong about Ace, who was terrible, but giving props to Covais for his soul-less version of Grapevine was ludicrous. I turned to my wife and said, "What the hell? Is he getting the white boy discount or something?" He was so bad it was actually humorous.

I was really hoping that Bucky was going to nail Thunder Rolls but he just doesn't have the power in his voice for it.
I miss last season with Bo and Carrie already. Chris has a chance to be this season's Bo though. He's already my pick for the top of the guys. |

No shit. I'm all for the geeky kid getting some love he otherwise wouldn't get, but fawning over him like he's actually got a chance to win is over the line. He's got an in-tune voice, but absolutely no ability to pull off anything outside of a millimeter beyond his white boy persona. He's embarrassing, not the next AI.

I agree with the feeling on Kevin. That was just one of the worst performances I've seen on the show. That said, I think he is too popular and unique to get sent home yet.

I thought it went like this:
Excellent: Chris Very good: Gedeon Elliott Avg to Good: Taylor Will Fair to Avg: Bucky Ace Poor: David Sway Kevin - Worst vocals, but will probably stay cause of cuteness factor. I think David and Sway should pack their bags.

It was easily the best performance of the night, by long shot. Shame you'll only see a clip of it. In a night where everyone looked like bad karaoki, he made them look worse by rocking the house.

It's probably 50/50 whether I've heard it or not. I'm generally unfamiliar with Fuel, although if they're the band I'm thinking of, I do remember a video with a guy on fire running in slow motion. If that's them (and it might even be this song), then I've heard them, but can't place the song.
I have a unique ability to listen to hours of music a week, yet be completely oblivious to what's on the radio. For instance, I haven't knowingly ever heard a single song by Coldplay or White Stripes. Just from the descriptions I've read, I'm fairly confident they aren't for me, so I've stayed away.

I thought Kevin was better than last week. I seriously wonder what some of these people are thinking in song selection. Frank Sinatra, while great, will not get you a win on American Idol. Chris was so good because you can tell he enjoyed the hell out of singing the song. He had fun up there. It is his competiton to mess up.

My favorite singer - Taylor - was absolutely terrible tonight. I hope he picks it up next week or I'm going to have to reasess him.
Elliot was awesome and I really liked Geddeon (sp ?). I kind of liked Bucky since he was a lot more like his auditions. Ace is abominable. I have no idea what the judges are seeing..

I'll borrow EaglesFan's ranking system here because it's pretty much how I rate them.
Excellent: Chris-Never heard the song before and not one I'd go looking for, but he clearly was the best last night. Very good: Gedeon-surprises me again, always picks the right songs for his voice, watch out when he doesn't. Elliott-the dark horse for the men, though he does need to improve on the performance part. Avg to Good: Taylor-still hard to watch, but a decent song choice for his voice. Will-the surprise of the evening. Love the song he sang, and he had good control and command of his voice. Had a bit of a Josh Groban thing going there. Pretty weak on the performance side though. Fair to Avg: Bucky-if he wants to be a country singer, he better do a better job on a Garth Brooks song than that-voice just doesn't have the power it needs. Ace-Luckily for him he has last week and the audition performances to fall back on because that was just not good. Be a shocker if he went tonight, but if people just judge him on last night, he could go. Poor: David-Man what was up him? He seemed very annoyed, angry, and/or upset during and after his performance. Barely spoke to the judges or Ryan afterwards. Went back to this crooner roots after the judges told him that's what he should concentrate on-then they criticize him. He can't win. Sway-His nickname got him in the Top 12, and hopefully he'll just sway out the door tonight. Kevin - Liked him better than week 1, but really he's so much of a fish out of water here. Cuteness factor will likely keep him around far longer than he should a la John Stevens. I think its between David, Sway, Kevin, Will, and Bucky this week with David and Sway likely to go. I can't decide what was the worst performance in AI history (at least that I've seen) - Bobby's Copacabana, or John Stevens' Crocodile Rock. They were both so pathetic it's tough to choose.

Copacabana hands down. Not only was the dude a horrifically untalented singer (how did he get that far?), but he chose to show off that wretched voice on a Manilow song. It was like two rusty Yugos smashing head-on and then exploding into a flaming cloud of shit.

Man, I was THAT close to having Sway and Kevin gone in one fell swoop. Oh well. I guess the upshot is that I stand a 100% chance of being happy with the next choice to go home.
I'm so glad America saw through the Kevin BS. He was, is and will always be awful. Even watching him during th ensemble number was hilarious. He's like an advanced version of that country dude who sang to his turkeys and had never seen the ocean before. Just for entertainment value, I hope Sway goes now, and we get to hear Kevin sing for one more week.
