I think Colt McCoy has drawn a roughing the passer call in every game this season.

TD NCSU on an INT return. Reggie Ball looks like ... well, just like Reggie Ball.
6/13 for 111, 2 TD/1 Int.

That's 48% completions in conference play this year.
And in spite of it all, we still lead our division.

Imagine if the team had a good D-1 QB.

...and Reggie throws a TD to the right team this time, and Tech leads 21-13.

Texas avoids their traditional slow start on TBS broadcasts to take a 20-3 lead over Oklahoma State at halftime.

Allen Partrick is already over a 100 yards and the Sooners lead 14-3 in the 1st quarter.

I'll argue this up and down the field with you. My best friend is a die hard gator. He called this morning and asked if I would trade him Reggie for Chris Leak. With an honest heart, I said no. He said he wouldn't either. The reason being, Reggie fights every play. I want a kid like that on my side.

Go Jackets.

Hell, I wouldn't make that trade either. I'm not a fan of Leak's at all.

Meanwhile, 9 for 25 and a grounding call (albeit a very very bad call).

Arkansas playing well and handling South Carolina 23-6 at halftime. A bit lucky at the end of the half, but unlucky to not be up more before that, so I'm pleased.

A botched onside kick gave the Aggies an opportunity to get back into the game. Sooners up 14-10 at halftime.

I think Aaron Ross just sealed up the Thorpe award with that INT. Unbelievable!

And there's another pick thrown by Reggie, who certainly appears to be in his signature form.

9 for 28 for a whopping 156 yds. The two picks are well on their way to offsetting the three early TD's.

edit to add: And that leads to NCSU finally hitting a go-ahead FG, 23-21 Wolfpack at the end of 3Q.

McGee gets picked off by the Sooners, but was only able to get a FG. 17-10.

WOW! It looks like Wake Forest is for real. They apparently are going to hold on to beat Boston College. Next up for them is a down Florida State team.

Inside nine minutes left, GT regains the lead with a FG drive. 24-23 Jackets.

USC jr. is waking up a little. 26-13 entering the 4th, but the Cocks are catching everything in sight. Nice to see the refs finally flag the gay little #2 for Arkansas. He's been humping Sidney Rice more than his girlfriend, then the kid struts around and wonders how there was a call. He's lucky he hasn't been kicked in the head yet.

Well a pathetic 3rd quarter for Arkansas and South Carolina is not only hanging around, but apparently with a new QB they can magically move the ball at will. 26-13 after 3, South Carolina driving. I smell serious trouble.

Does Rice still run the triple option? That damn offense used to give Hawaii fits.

What kind of weird BCS season would it be if Wake Forest, Rutgers, and Boise State all make BCS bowls?

Nope, this is their first season in a spread offense run by none other than offensive coordinator Major Applewhite.

Fucking option always gave us fits as well, but not as bad as they're tearing us apart tonight.

GT hangs on - Reggie finishes 13-35, 213 yards, 4 TD, 2 Int. Calvin Johnson caught 9-166-2 (James Johnson caught 2 TDs as well).

As it stands now, the leaders for the ACCG are Georgia Tech and Wake Forest... Tech sews up its ticket with a win either at UNC or home v. Duke.

Arkansas's pass defense finally makes ONE play in the second half and intercepts Blake Mitchell. Now Arkansas trying desperately to run out the clock while half the team gets injured in the process. 26-20, under 2 to play 1st down and 1 timeout per team.

Miners hold on Rice's first posession of the second half and then tip the punt. Two plays later, 32 yard TD pass from Jordan Palmer to Daniel Robinson...

30-17

Arkansas holds off the Gamecocks with some timely 3rd down conversions to Monk to run out the clock. Still undefeated, but the pass defense looked pretty suspect in the 2nd half. A lot of that was a very hot QB and receivers making some absolute circus catches. Still worrisome. The injuries are also concerning. McFadden took a knock, didn't seem too serious, Parker (SR Guard) and Michael Grant (Safety) were also injured late.

And Stoops avoids the Switzer comparison by making a 4th and short at the opponents 30 yard line.

At this point, Chuck's seat is nuclear-fusion-hot with regard to the internet fanbase. Whether that translates into any potential change this offseason remains to be seen. I'd say no. Besides, the basketball coach search ended up being a fiasco from a national media perspective and I don't think the administration wants to go through it again so soon. But, that hasn't stopped the pitchforks-and-torches crowd from begging for Amato's ouster and Bill Cowher to ride in on a white horse to save the program.

I said not too long ago that all I could hope for was 6-6 after such a dismal start. Well, the team's 3-6 with three to go, each game a toss-up at this point. Sure, we should beat Carolina and ECU, but we never, ever do well against UNC regardless of records and ECU is always up to play us. Clemson is reeling and that game's also in Raleigh, so there's a chance there, but frankly, this team can win all three to get to 6-6 or lose all three just as easily and end up 3-9, which I think is probably the mark that needs to occur before any sort of change could be considered this year (perhaps 4-8, as well, which would mean one loss against either ECU or UNC). If he straggles home to at least 5-7, he's good for another year.

Given the current disastrous state of the basketball program, there isn't much to look forward to in Raleigh until at least the Spring when baseball starts again. Of course, in the two big sports, it could be much, much longer than that before good things happen again.

Grobe has done a remarkable job at Wake. I look forward to many more years of Wake Football under his leadership. Thankfully our great AD Wellman has shown support to Grobe in the past by upping the assistant coaches salary as well as giving Grobe a raise and a hefty 10 year deal a couple of yers ago when Grobe's name was being floated out there for a few jobs.

(Now only if Skip can get the basketball team back to a good place after last years debacle)

I think it would almost be better for NCSU, long term, for Amato to hold onto the job for one more season. I am a Steelers fan and I strongly suspect that Bill Cowher will retire from Pittsburgh after this season, but I have a feeling that he is going to want to take a season off to recover for the Super Bowl hangover and then this miserable season. I'm guessing he'll be more willing to return to coaching in 2008 after recharging his batteries with a season off.

Stanford was just what was needed for USC today. Hopefully, the team can build off the dominant win today, get momentum going, and win out the rest of the way.

Yeah. I'd wager that the ACC office and ABC/ESPN were not expecting a potential Wake/BC/Maryland-Georgia Tech ACC championship when they did the expansion and the new TV deal (neither did the folks in Jax who put up the bid for the ACC-CG in part because it was convenient to Tally and Miami...oops).

Maybe N.C. State and Duke can face off on Labor Day '07 on ABC. The network seems to like to match up ACC Bottom-Feeders in that time slot.

The Miners offense has come alive in the second half and the defense has been able to put together a few stops. All of a sudden it's 37-31 Rice with seven minutes to go.

I appreciate it. that BC-Wake game is becoming a pretty good rivalry. they ALWAYS seem to be close. As for Maryland, we have FSU (there) and Va Tech (Groves) to worry about before we go to Maryland.

Well, it helps when A&M's QB went 8 of 18 for 63 yards and a pick.

Hey, a win's a win in Kyle Field. Pathetic 2nd half for OU, but it's better than a loss.

The man speaks the truth. Ugly 2nd half.

Isn't A&M something like 3-8 at home against ranked teams under Franchione?

The myth of Kyle Field is much greater than the reality.

If and when Peterson comes back, maybe we should play Patrick in the first half and Peterson in the second. Peterson gets all of his yards in the second half, Patrick in the first, seemingly.
