This Atlanta/Seattle game would be a lot more fucking interesting without these dipshit announcers. Yeah Seattle would rather get the god damn rushing title than a home playoff game. Shut up already!

Well that was a dumb call on a 2 point conversion.

I just saw the highlight with the sound down, but who was that braindead Seattle player waving his arms while the ball carrier for Atlanta was still pushing towards the end zone.

Yeah really, I can only imagine what would happen to him if the guy had actually made it to the endzone.

Hmmm... I just read that Pittsburgh is the first AFC team to win 15 games in a season. Great year by that squad.

ESPN has him by 3 yards. It's close enough that i imagine it won't really be officially until the NFL makes it officially tomorrow.

I'd be pissed too, but I'm not so sure about Denver being in the game. Take out the playoff game last year and Denver has played pretty well against Indy the last few years. They beat them badly the second to last week in Indy last year, when Indy wanted to win the game. They lost an OT game in Denver the year before that.

Not only that, even if the Colts were playing their starters, there is no way they'd be showing anything other than a normal game plan, which would give Denver a serious advantage anyway.

The Jags, as much as I love em, screwed themselves when they tanked it agianst Houston last week.

Denver will probably get torched badly by Indy next week. But a win is a win is a win. It's just too bad Jake had to get INT happy in SD a few weeks ago. If he doesn't, we'd have won the division. Oh well.

Here's what looks like the first half of the 2005 draft order.

If Dallas beats the New York Giants:

1. SFO (2-14)
2. MIA (4-12)
3. CLE (4-12)
4. CHI (5-11)
5. TBY (5-11)
6. TEN (5-11)
7. NYG (5-11)
8. OAK (5-11)
9. ARI (6-10)
10. WAS (6-10)
11. DET (6-10)
12. HOU (7-9)
13. CAR/DAL (7-9) coin flip
14. CAR/DAL (7-9)
15. KCY (7-9)
16. NOS (8-8)
17. CIN (8-8)

If the New York Giants beat Dallas:

1. SFO (2-14)
2. MIA (4-12)
3. CLE (4-12)
4. CHI (5-11)
5. TBY (5-11)
6. TEN (5-11)
7. OAK (5-11)
8. ARI (6-10)
9. WAS (6-10)
10. DET (6-10)
11. DAL/NYG (6-10) coin flip
12. DAL/NYG (6-10)
13. HOU (7-9)
14. CAR (7-9)
15. KCY (7-9)
16. NOS (8-8)
17. CIN (8-8)

So, regardless of whether they win or lose, I believe Dallas had better practice its coin tossing skills.

Miami is definitely picking #2, so right off the bat I don't trust ESPN.

It says on the ESPN page that this is based on standings only. For instance, we know the 8-8 playoff teams pick behind Cincy and New Orleans. While I won't vouch for mine as certain, I think it's definitely more accurate.

Is there any reason to get excited for a QB in the upcoming draft? Or is RB where it's at in 2005?

Dutch: It depends if Matt Leinhart and Aaron Rodgers declare. If they do, then perhaps. If not, then you have Kyle Orton, Stephen Lefors, Alex Smith, and Andrew Walter (of ASU) on top of the board.

Teams may be scared off by Smith because they may consider him a 'system' QB. It depends on the combines, I guess, but I don't see him being an early 1st round pick (ie, a QB to get excited about).

According to NFL.com, Alexander had 1,616 yards going into today, and picked up another 80 for a total of 1,696.

Martin came in at 1,544 and went for 153 to end up with 1,697.

Great story for Martin, now it's time for Shaun to get mad and dominate the playoffs by going 150+ and leading us to the Super Bowl

Not to mention that New Orleans would be in the playoffs if the Rams hadn't been given a walkover last monday.

Though from the looks of things the pick could have been put to better use than with Rivers.

For the bottom-end franchises that played hard and won today, here's what it cost them:

Cleveland 3rd (2nd with a loss)
Tennessee 6th (2nd with a loss)
Arizona 8th or 9th (4th with a loss)
Washington 9th or 10th (6th with a loss)

Got to give these teams and their coaches some credit for wanting it. I understand why Atlanta, Philadelphia and Indianapolis laid down (Philly the last two weeks), but it should be noted that Pittsburgh and New England didn't (Brady came out on the first play of the fourth quarter, and Dillon scored that fourth-quarter touchdown).

I wonder if that will make a difference after the bye week.

It gives them a pass on the Rivers pick, which helps.

You heard it here first.

EDIT: The Eagles will be knocked out when their offense struggles against the first team they face. T.O. being lost is a HUGE blow to them. Who will score in his place? This is what stopped them last season, and it will stop them again.. I bet its going to be Green Bay getting their revenge. They are on a roll, and Philly proved their lack of depth by getting spanked hard by Cincinnati today. It wouldnt have mattered who was playing QB, two straight losses to teams with not so great defenses is an indication to me that Philadelphia is a lot more beatable without T.O.

I'm very late to this thread, and others may have already replied to this, but I'll take that chance. McNabb is much better than last year. Westbrook is healthy and is a big addition. The Eagles are better than last year, even without T.O. As far as the last two losses, those mean nothing as it was the Eagle's JV team out there for them.

Well, they still have a bit of a problem there, as it's going to be tough to sign Brees with the contract they gave Rivers, and the signing bonus they gave Rivers will mean they can't deal him without consequences.

Yes there is. There is a very talented once in a lifetime QB or RB that can only be picked with the #2 pick. Any team wanna make a trade with the 'Phins?

They'll probably franchise him and see if this year was a fluke or not. It'd be a tough situation for Brees as well. What if he holds out and Rivers lights it up?

How is it that even though Cleveland lost to Miami last week that they end up behind Miami in the draft? Not that it matters because the Browns will screw the pick up anyways.

They'll have a QB and probably a couple first round picks, though they may not be able to get a top 5 pick. They still would have been better off without giving up on their QB too quickly.

i believe strength of schedule is the only tiebreaker in determining draft order.

I personally think head to head should be implemented, but the NFL doesn't see it my way.

Not only will the Colts play at NE in two weeks (hopefully!), they will be at NE in 2005 and 2006 for the regular season. This is turning out to be quite a rivalry.

Damn Jets and Panthers. The Vikings lose and they still get in?!? Uhg. I really do not want to see the Vikes next week in Green Bay. 3 wins in a year is tough against one team, although the Packers have done it before. The Vikings are just one scary team at this point against the Packers, not matter if they backed into the playoffs or not.

But....a win against the Vikes would be simply marvelous!

Sorry, not yet it isn't.

It isn't a rivalry until the Colts beat them. I think you SHOULD have beat them in at least two of the three times you've played them the last couple of years. But you didn't and until you do, it isn't a rivalry. Please, turn it into one this year. I'd love to see it. I'd REALLY love to see it.

It isn't that hard to win 3 games in a year. Of the past 15 teams where a team has swept a team in the Regular Season, they have won the playoff game 10 times. 66% chance of the 3 game sweep.
