Pass broken up, but should have been interference called. Tough break - Leftwich played tough, and nearly pulled it off...

Why is it that no kicker can fall over without hurting himself?

My respect for Leftwich just shot up after that drive. It didn't get them a win, but damn did he keep it going as best as he could and made that great throw when he got nailed by Freeney.

Harrison just speared Delhomme in the Pats/Panthers game, I can't believe that wasn't called either. He's playing incredibly cheap today, as has been mentioned earlier in this thread.

PI? I suppose, i see the arguement for it. If it didn't happen he still had no chance because the defender was flying in front of the ball about 2 or 3 yards in front of him.

He hit Smith on a third down earlier with his helmet and there was no call... The Patriots are God's team.

Yeah, I'm most sick of watching his matcho staredowns after every tackle, and bumping into the guy 2-3 times while he tries to get up.

No, it is probably one of the best scenes of a guy who just would not give up.

I agree Cringer, the ball wouldn't have been completed anyway, but you can't allow the CB to just run over the WR while the ball is in the air. That should have been called.

There's a Lifetime Movie of the Week in here somewhere. Judith Light can play your mom and Gerald McRaney can play your dad.

I made the post before the replay - in retrospect it was accidental tangling of legs - no PI.

Tangling up a receiver and defenders legs has been called incidental contact for a couple years now. No Pass Interference. It has too be hands or intentional contact before the ball gets there for the ref to call it.

I thought Leftwich was done for the year when he bent back like that, amazing that he stayed upright. I thought they should have pulled him for Gerard, but he played well enough I suppose--even if it was against a prevent defense.

I'm just glad the guy is okay! I'm sure Jacksonville fans are just happy he survives to play another game.

I'm a Colts fan, but the contact seemed incidental... Their feet got tangled and the corner ended up on top of the reciever making him look guilty.. (that may sound funny)

Not really about week 2 of the NFL, but am I the only one creeped out by the Burger King mascot in those silly commercials?

And it's Burger King. Not BK. Good grief.

Actually, it would be more like Sally Field and Colm Meany (less a few pounds).

I spent way too long trying to find an actor who looks like my dad.

Denver looking good on drive one. Picked up a big first down on a third and long. Going to be a about a 3rd and 3 from the Charger 47.

Rams off to a quick start, up 7 on the Cards.

Moral victory for the Lions: They did score more points than Harrington threw interceptions 6-5.

Nice long run after the catch by Driver. TD Packers. Nice.

My wife said it for me, 'big year.' Meaning I said last week how I felt Driver is in for a big year. I felt he would do better then Walker, which I guess is easy now.... Anyways, I hope this is the start.

The problem is:

1. Joey Harrington's lack of ability

2. Steve Marriucci's lack of creativity or testicles

That is all.

Denver with a 13 play drive that eats up almost 7 minutes off of the clock and Mike Anderson fumbles the ball on the one yard line. SD ball.

Anderson won the starting job in part because he doesn't fumble and they wanted a goal line back. That's a great way to lose the job for good there.

Denver makes the stand and forces the punt. They get the ball back on their own 45.

6 minutes left in Q1, Denver has had the ball for 7 minutes, the Chargers for 1 minute. need another time consuming drive here, one that picks up points. This altitude is not a good place to leave your D on the field for a long time.

Denver just spreading the Charger defense out. Lots of 3 and 4 WR sets, spreading the Chargers out. The O-Line looks strong. Plummer is sharp. Tis early, really early, but they look better than last week.

Ron Dayne gets his first carry as a Bronco, 1 yard. Giants fans remember a lot of that, huh?

Lets see, the Lions really sucked today, and now the Browns are moving the ball on he Packers and may score here.

Ok, I guess I will believe the Packers defense blows.

Dilfer with the TD pass. No one covering some guy named Steve Heyden. Way to go defense.

Charles Lee drops a TD pass by Warner. Cards kick a FG to make it 7-3 Rams. Under three mintues left in the first of the Broncos/Chargers game. So far LT hasn't touched the ball once, Denver has had the ball for 11 minutes, the Chargers 1 minutes. And it's only 3-0 Denver.

Happy about the TOP, but this should be a 10-0 game right now, at least.

The Jets offensive line seems to have reverted to 2003 form (cannot run block, can pass protect).

Heiden had 28 receptions for 5 TDs last season. But keep not covering him in the red zone, we don't mind.

They need to check Chad Pennington for a Futurama-style Brain Slug. He's just not the same QB.

Excellent news! From the numbers Frerotte looks to have started well again? And our stupidly overpaid kicker misses from 21 yards - I could make that with a fag in one hand and a beer in the other

How fast are the Bronco LB's? Chargers just lined up in a 4 WR set (with Gates as the fourth wideout) and the Broncos stayed in a base defense. Gates with a 12 yard catch on thrid down, first down Chargers.

Another big third down catch by Gates to end the quarter. Chargers in Denver territory as Q1 ends.

Frerotte looked alright until the red zone. The kick wasn't really Mare's fault. It was an awful hold, he had to kind of stutter-step and delay to get the kick off, then just didn't have enough leg into it because of his slowed-down approach.
