Well that was discouraging. Seahawks gave the Cards many chances with the penalties and missed FG's and they couldn't take advantage of most of them. Glad they have already clinched a playoff spot with SF left on the schedule. I hope Stanton is ready to play against Carolina/Atlanta

You'd think maybe the Cards could have pulled Lindley in the 3rd when it was still 14-3, because he clearly was not going to win the game for them.

No. Just no. I'd love to see it happen, but they have less chance than Kramer/Sanders did against the Redskins posse back in the 90s ... which was virtually none. .

I am definitely getting the bitter Lions fan vibe here. I get it. I really do. The team hasn't done much of anything in the last 57 years to earn anything other the bitterness and disappointment.

But if that's all you got, what's the point?

What Raiola did was inexcusable. It was a horrible, bush league play. He did a similar thing earlier this year against New England. He's a firey, dirty player. But to claim that his play is some how indicative of the entire team or that that team "won't just play the damn game" is simply not true. This team is a couple years removed from all of the Schwartz nastiness, the stupid personal fouls, and all of that. The Lions weren't overly nasty or dirty last year and they definitely haven't been this year.

So, any notion that what Dom Raiola did was some how "Lions football" or "same old dirty Lions" isn't accurate. It's mainly sour grapes from Bears fans. I think Raiola should be fined and suspended. It was awful. But I am not at all "disgusted" with this team. They haven't done anything close to deserve that.

That aside, the Lions are capable of losing to pretty much anyone. Their defense is really good. You can't run the ball on them. The way to beat them is short, quick passes. Tom Brady tore them up doing that. Yesterday, they gave up a touchdown on a 7 yard drive after the muffed punt and the other touchdown was a result of that stupid roughing the punter penalty. That's pretty good.

Their offense isn't great. The line has really taken a step back after being pretty good last year. They have had some injuries, but I don't think that's it. I am not sure if it's Lombardi (obligatory grandson/Saints references) and his schemes or what. They haven't been able to protect Stafford or get much in way of a running game going. Stafford, himself, is a problem. There is Good Stafford and Bad Stafford. Good Stafford is amazingly good and will make some of the best throw you've ever seen. Bad Stafford is horribly inaccurate and throw interceptions. Sadly, most games the Lions seem to get about 60-70% Bad Stafford. That's a problem.

I don't see the Lions winning in Green Bay next week. Not going to happen.

I have a hard time seeing them beating Dallas in Dallas, though it's possible. I'd say it's a 25% chance. They have a 50/50 chance against the NFC South winner. No way they travel to Seattle or Green Bay and win. I think they could beat a Ryan Lindley-led Cardinals team if it came to that (75% chance).

The Lions have 11 wins for only the FOURTH time in franchise history. They've been around forever. That's craziness.

Stop being "disgusted" and angry and bitter and living with all of the horrible past disappointments of this team. Enjoy it! We don't get many seasons like this! It's the playoffs. Be at least a little excited!

Yeah I thought they might since they have Logan Thomas ready to step in for a package of plays for him, but they may need Lindley to start next week if Thomas really isn't ready, so gave him playing time to get more comfortable for that.

And somehow my beloved Cards are still eligible for the #1 seed next week. Have to beat SF on the road, and have the Rams have enough inspiration in them to beat the Seahawks again this year.

Heh! I haven't been wrong yet! Also, I do believe Ryan Lindley already beat the Lions once in Arizona a few years ago, so I might be getting ahead of myself.

Just trying to boost the morale of a fellow long-suffering Lions fan is all.

'Tis the season to spread joy, mirth and cheer, no?

I'm not bitter. I don't think the whole team is dirty. I do think stuff like this or the things Suh has done from time to time only happens if the organization tolerates it(unless it's purely a one-off). That's where the disgusted part comes in, and I'll stop being disgusted when it stops happening .

I agree the defense is fantastic, and I think anytime you have that defense and Megatron there's always a chance you can win. It is a year to celebrate, but not to have blinders on. *shrug*

If I'm a college QB that is likely to get drafted by Cleveland, I'm pulling an Elway or Eli and state that I'll never play for them. It is a QB graveyard.

+1

If Cleveland is truly cutting the cord on Manzeil after a game and a half, they might as well fire the GM/coaching staff and start over.

I might be crazy, but is it possible Baalke is one on his way out the door in San Francisco? His drafts haven't been that great.

They already fired their coach last year. I'm not sure anybody wants a job where if you don't perform that year, you are gone.

But what player is going to want to go there knowing that the coaching staff has no loyalty to the player under center? At some point, Cleveland is going to have to chose a guy and stick with him while he develops.

Why do people boo when turnovers and scoring plays are "under review"?

It's standard procedure for those plays.

Dalton playing like garbage as is his MO against defenses with a pulse, yet Bengals still ahead somehow. I'm sure the other shoe is preparing to drop.
