I feel sorry for people who had to watch the MSU/TCU game all the way to the end. Three QBs played and none of which could pass for 50% competition. I think a case could be made that MSU didn't improve at all during the season and I can't imagine how badly that staff is praying Bell stays.

LOL at the "incomplete" call on the USC fumble.

Listening to that commercial with Lou Holtz in it, while not looking at the screen and knowing who it was, was pretty painful.

They don't appear to be able to stop that rushing game though. Looks like it's gonna be an explosive game.

Silas Redd was the main factor on USC's best drive of the day to end the first half. So how does Kiffin start the 2nd half? Throwing on 5 out of 6 downs and going 3 and out twice.

What I worry about is that Kiffin is going to make it impossible for Haden to avoid firing him soon. The long Kiffin stays at USC, the longer they will underperform.

I'm not entirely sure that Wittek isn't injured, I know he's a freshman but I'm not at all convinced he's this bad.

Two of the three preseason top teams are not only missing out on the title game, but they aren't even playing in New Year's Day bowl games. USC starts #1 and ends up 7-6.

Maybe they were, but at least Gilby has a long track record of great success as an assistant at the UW.

He was terrible at Cal though. Looking further, Tom Holmoe might have been the worst coach. Mackovich was pretty bad too

Ty was at least decent at Stanford as well. He probably should have just stayed there and been fine.

Gilby wasn't good at Cal, but I wouldn't call his time there "terrible". He was the last guy before Tedford arrived to win as many as 9 games and go to a bowl.

Yeah, Ty was reasonably successful at Stanford too, but something happened to him at Notre Dame. The Ty we got at Washington was completely checked-out and just there to cash a paycheck in between golf outings.

After a baffling offensive series (and one terrible throw), Clemson has the ball on their 20 yard line. 1:39 left, three time outs. Need a FG to win it.

Clemson with a chance to win it. They have dominated this game on everything but the scoreboard. Now they have the chance to finish it off.

Over 430 yards to 208. LSU always finds a way to keep it close, but there is no way they should have been in this one. Great plays by Clemson to finish the game off. Very nice win for the program.

Beyond horrible. They also kept talking the entire night about LSU being top five next year if everyone comes back, but if everyone came back for Clemson they wouldn't deserve to be there because of the defense.

Yeah, the team that just lit up LSU for over 425 yards and held LSU to 208 is clearly the team that doesn't deserve the higher ranking. Idiot.

Holding a team with that QB to 208 ain't necessarily a grand accomplishment afaic.

Don't disagree, but will LSU have a dream QB taking the helm next year? Last I saw, he was a junior. The running game didn't seem to do anything either. Look, I know LSU is going to be good next year. They always are. But for an announcer to talk up one team and slam another with the ass kicking that was taking place is a little off IMO.

LSU more importantly is losing a chuck of that defense depending on who goes early. I think next year is a rebuilding year for them.

And four Big Ten teams playing in the same time slot, that's pretty annoying. You've got Purdue in the Heart of Dallas Bowl, Northwestern in the Gator Bowl, Michigan in the Outback Bowl, and Nebraska in the Capital One Bowl. Seems like you used to be able to watch Outback at like 10, Citrus at 1-2, then Rose at 5. Now no bowls even use that morning time slot.

It seems Michigan's players share my views on the value of non-playoff bowl games. Though you might as well try to win a game if you're getting a free trip to Florida out of it.
